Chapter 3

Hera's p.o.v

Why the hell was Ava acting like nothing had happened between us yesterday.

I went a mile on by calling her a bad mother and wishing for her death. It was cruel of me but she made me feel horrible.

"Honey try some salads." She whispered as she pushed the bowl towards me.

I sighed softly then picked up the bowl.

We sat in the dining room in silence opposite each other.

She shocked me when she came into my bedroom to invite me to dine with her.

There was never a time we sat at the same table to eat. That was in the past, although what shocked me way more than her invitation was the fact that she cooked, yes. She did cook and that gave me a lot of thoughts.

I was about to put some salads on my plate when It hit me.

Were the salads poisoned? It was possible, after all, we weren't the best of friends.

"I'm not hungry." I answered while I put the bowl down.

She widened her eyes for a second then sighed loudly.

"From morning you were cooped up in your room. You must be hungry Hera." She whispered.

"Why are you so fixed on me eating your cooked food?" I asked seriously.

"Because you are hungry." She answered simply.

  I couldn't help but sneer.

"I'm not hungry, I'm actually on a slimming diet." I answered then stood up and turned to walk away.

"Hera!" She called on top of her voice startling me.

"Can't we for once act like a loving family?" She asked softly.

I kept quiet for a second then laughed mockingly.

"Loving family you say. But when Dad was alive you wanted nothing to do with neither him nor me Ava. You eat your poisoned food alone. I don't want to die young." I spat then went out of the house with a low sigh.

I walked ahead without caring where I was going. What I needed the most was to be far away from that toxic woman. Moreover, I had no tears left to cry. I wanted to be left the hell alone.

I gazed at the clear sky with a soft sigh then smiled widely.

"You pretty little things, why are you living your bright days shining like a diamond?" I asked softly then quickly turned in fear when I heard someone burst out in laughter behind me.

"Oh sorry, did I scare you?" A tall man who stood a few meters away from me asked softly.

I kept quiet glancing at how far my house was. If he was a serial killer or a rapist would I outrun him?.

"Hey, I'm talking to you." He said a little louder.

I was about to walk past him when he lifted his hands in the air surprising me.

"Okay, it seems I have scared you. I'm sorry for that, just give me a chance to introduce myself before you ran away, please." He said quickly.

"Fine, I'm all ears." I answered then took a step back.

"Thank you, my first name is Matt, definitely not Damon. And my last name is Ronald. I'm just a simple guy in his middle thirties who lives a bit further away from here. I love jogging and exercising every evening. Well, most of the people keep fit for certain reasons, as for me I keep fit for ......wait let start again. I keep fit....."

"So you are from jogging?" I asked cutting him off.

He was getting annoying. How could someone talk so much in just a minute? To make matters worse, to a stranger!.

"Wow, so you can talk?" He asked in an amazed tone.

Dah how stupid was he, he knew nothing about me, and yet he thought of me as dumb.

"No, I can only sing." I answered sarcastically.

He shocked me when he burst out in laughter.

"Nice one." He said between laughter.

He really wasn't okay in the head. His actions were surprising me.

"Then let me admit, you have a beautiful singing voice." He whispered.

I took in a deep breath then released it.

"Has anyone ever told you that you are weird?" I asked seriously.

"No, not really. But I have had some people tell me that I'm pretty handsome and coldly charming to be handled." He answered with a hint of pride in his voice.

I couldn't see his face at all, the only thing I could make out was his height and his built. He was hugely built, but then, someone in his thirties wasn't that "Wow you hot!" in my eyes.

"Yeah right." I answered then walked past him slowly.

"Hey, may I know your name before you go?" He asked loudly.

"Mmmm, I don't think so. Who knows what you truly are. You can be a killer or rapist for all I know." I answered then stopped moving and faced him.

He didn't give off a killer vibe nor rapist, but I just had to voice out my true thoughts.

"You are right not to tell me your name. I might turn out to be a very bad guy who's trying to take advantage of you." He answered surprising me.

  "Um.....okay." I answered in hesitation.

"It was nice chatting with you. You see I usually keep to myself most of the time." He muttered under his breath.

  "Yeah kidding." I mocked.

"I'm serious. I'm never this friendly to most people. And I talk less at times." He said making me chuckle.

If he thought I was going to believe that, then he was a bigger fool than I thought he was

The guy was talking way too much to be a quiet man.

"Okay, that's good to know sir. Have a nice night and never approach me again." I answered then quickly rushed back home.

"Talk about crazy." I murmured when I reached the door.

"Don't talk to her and just go straight to your room." I said to myself silently while I opened the door and walked in.

I closed and locked the door behind before going upstairs.

Once I was in my room I breathed out a sigh of relief and threw myself on the bed.

My thoughts were still on that crazy guy and how he was acting. I laughed softly thinking back on how he was spitting nonsense.

"For his age, he really is a dumb ass." I whispered under my breath then closed my eyes to rest.
