LOGINThere are moments when people lose sight of who they are or what they’re doing. I was caught in one such moment, and the best part; I had no hesitation in embracing it. I had always maintained strict boundaries with my employees, but my intimacy with Eduardo was nothing short of revolutionary, even beyond revolutionary. He was like a beacon of light to a firefly. I couldn’t resist; I was destined to surrender and be swept away by his current.
That morning was the first time in six years I woke up after sunrise. I cared about nothing except being wrapped in Eduardo’s arms. Though I slept like a baby in his embrace, I was dimly aware he’d been awake all night. His fingers stroked my hair, his soft kisses grazed my forehead, and he held me tighter every few minutes, granting me the most peaceful sleep of my adulthood. His scent was the theme of the night for me. God, if it hadn’t been for an important meeting, I would never have left his cabin that morning. I was lying on his body, my head against his chest, when I stirred awake. His eyes, unreadable yet intense, were fixed on me. I reached up to kiss the tip of his chin, a smile curling my lips as I murmured cheerfully, “Buenos días, hermoso!” His eyes scanned my face for a moment before his thumb gently caressed my left cheek. “Good morning,” he said. The dull tone of his voice struck me as odd. I couldn’t discern his intentions. “Were you up all night?” I asked. He didn’t bother responding with words, only nodding. “I must’ve disturbed you by staying here all night. It won’t happen again,” I said, grabbing his trench coat from the hook by the door to wear on my way home from his cabin. Putting on my own clothes would’ve taken longer than I could bear. “Don’t worry, I’ll return this in half an hour!” I added, storming out in a fit of frustration. I heard him follow as my heels struck the ground with purpose on my way home. “Wait! Please, please wait!” He grabbed my arm and pulled me against his chest. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to act like that.” “Save your apology and leave me alone!” “No, listen. It just felt awkward. I don’t know how to act in a situation like this. We barely talked about last night, and I don’t know your thoughts, your expectations, or your intentions when you touched me. I don’t know what to hope for after what happened. I’m at a loss.” “What are you, Eduardo, a woman? Is this how men act after being intimate with a woman these days?” “Watch your mouth, Emily! You’re going too far!” his tone was warning. “You have no right to talk to me like that!” I was angry as hell. “You have no right to talk to me like that either!” he responded. “I have every right to talk to you like that! Now leave me alone!” “I’m still your bodyguard, Ms. Arquette! I’m not leaving you alone!” “Oh, really? Your dedication to your job is going to make me burst into tears!” I pulled my arm back and stormed home. I was so furious because of waking up such morning like that after a dreamy night. I took off Eduardo’s borrowed trench coat before stepping into the shower. With little time to get ready for work, I was in a rush. But soon, I felt hands around my waist. Then a hand covered my mouth to suppress my scream. He turned me around to face me and there he was, Eduardo. “Are you out of your mind? What’s wrong with you this morning? You scared the hell out of me!” He kissed my forehead. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I just wanted to make it up to you.” “Is this your idea of an apology? Well, please don’t apologize anymore!” “How could you think of someone else touching you like this when you know I’m at your service? I’d sacrifice my life to protect you from anyone touching you against your will.” “You’d protect me just because it’s your job?” He pressed me against himself and the wall. “Not only because of that. I’d sacrifice my life for your safety, no matter what.” “Really? What if I wanted someone else to touch me and allowed it?” He raised an eyebrow. “After last night?” “Well, perhaps,” I mumbled. “I might let you ride the horses between us Emily, but I have my dignity. If you let someone else touch you after last night, that poor soul would end up begging on a street corner, amputated.” “You wouldn’t let anyone else touch me just because of your dignity?” “What do you want to hear, Emily?” “I think you already know. Are you afraid to admit it?” “No, I’m afraid of rejection.” “You’ll never know unless you say it.” He looked furious. “What kind of woman are you?” “Get out!” I snapped. His reaction and vague answers grated on my nerves even more. “You’re not my boss when we are naked, Emily. Treat your man better!” “What makes you think I’ve accepted you as my man?” He traced a finger over the hickeys on my neck, grinning. “My artwork on your skin says I’m yours.” I kept teasing him. “What if I reject you?” He leaned in, his face inches from mine, his lips hovering close as he whispered, “You don’t have that option anymore.” Those were the last words between us. He pressed his lips to mine, and I was paralyzed. My mind let go of everything, lost in the sweet pleasure of the moment. I whispered his name passionately, helplessly, as his lips roamed my skin. “Eduardo, we have to stop!” “Hush! Stop talking nonsense!” he said, his hands gliding down my curves. “We really have to! I need to get to work. Please, let me go!” “I can take care of you, baby. Don’t worry.” In that moment, I felt truly like a woman. I never knew I could drive a man wild with desire. Although I was the one paying him, yet he was promising to provide for me. It made me pause. Would I settle for what he offered? Were his hesitations that morning justified? Was our spark strong enough to last beyond a one night stand? Could our connection promise something can stand out of the bed? I couldn’t keep playing this game without answers. I simply couldn’t. “Eduardo, you’d better wait for me in the car, as usual. I’ll be ready in twenty minutes.” He looked at me with disappointment but said nothing. He nodded and left me in the shower. I didn’t want it to end like this, but I had to do what was right.I am looking for your support and comments Xo xo
Eduardo's lips were pressing wildly against mine as if dancing a rough tango. I was hooked by his captivating moves. I wanted to resist, yet his kisses and his touch were so irresistible. Somehow, I managed to push him by the shoulder and said weakly, between my moans and gasps, "Eduardo, stop." I was fine with him touching me, but knowing that he'd been starving didn’t feel right. He didn’t mind me and put his head between my breasts, kissing them roughly and biting gently..."Please," I said desperately, before it was too late, "you must be hungry, eat something first.""You have no idea, I am starving to death, so feed me," he said before cupping one of my breasts and shoving it whole into his mouth, with the gown still covering it.The silk coat above my skin got wet from his pressing tongue against my nipple. I grabbed him by the neck and forced him back. Then I couldn’t resist that eager look in his eyes, that raw expression on his face, and kissed him passionately. My fingers p
The night was pitch black when I opened my eyes. My mouth was dry as hell, as if I had every dust of the Sahara Desert filled in it. The feeling of the satin gown gently brushing against my slightly damp skin wasn’t the only thing wrapping around my waist. Eduardo’s strong, captivating arms held me tight, his head buried in my neck. I could feel his warm breath on my skin with every exhale. How could he even breathe in that position? He was going to choke in his sleep. After we came home, he carried me to the master bedroom. I wanted him to stay while I was getting ready for bed. His presence by my side gave me an undefined coziness and comfort. I was feeling too tired in every way, so lying beside him for a little while seemed like a good idea.He didn’t say no and lay down beside me until I fell asleep again. He kept brushing my hair gently as I buried my face on his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist. I heard him humming in a fading tone, but I could hear it anyway.I didn’
Eduardo had always been so sweet, caring, considerate, and demanding. Just because I was upset about my long-gone phone, he thought my concern was purchasing a new one. However, I was overwhelmed by thinking about the data transfer from the cloud—that was massive.I smiled gently back at him and reached out for a gentle kiss. That was the only habit of pleasure for me lately."I can get myself a new phone, you silly," I mocked him. "Sometimes you forget who I really am."His facial expression changed in an instant. He seemed like I said something to offend him, as if I had insulted him."Do you think I am not aware of your wealth?" he snapped. "Do you think I thought you wouldn't be able to buy yourself a new phone, Emily?"There we go again! I rolled my eyes to show him that I didn't want to be in this argument anymore."For once, Emily," he said, "just for this once, let me feel like a man. I wanted to provide for you. What's wrong with that?"I gently brushed my temple."You have do
I literally snapped out of the diner and stormed out onto the street. I was filled with pure adrenaline—adrenaline fueled by anger, excitement, and even confusion.Confusion about Eduardo. How could he leave me alone and go dining without informing me? How could he possibly know someone so important that he would need their help for a multi-million-dollar investment? How did a mere coincidence at lunch turn into an arranged marriage proposal?Bernardo was running after me, trying to catch up. "Emily," he shouted, "wait!"I didn’t stop but slowed my hurried steps."What was that?" he asked, his head clearly in a mess. Then Eduardo met my gaze, running toward us. I had a lot to deal with regarding him, but before that, what was urgent to me was to wrap my arms around his neck and hug him."I'm sorry," I whispered into his ear, "you shouldn’t have seen that."His gentle hands brushed my back, pausing for a moment, then he replied, "I’m the one who should apologize."I pulled back slightl
Eduardo choked on his wine after he heard Seniora Los Santos call him "son." The color drained from his face, and his eyes welled up slightly... I was kind of worried about him. The wine must have been hard for him to swallow. I pulled a napkin and wiped his tears, then passed him the glass of water I had in front of me. My lipstick mark was on the edge of the rim, but that was the only water available at that moment. I held his hand as I passed the glass for him to drink."Are you okay?" I asked. "Do you need some fresh air?"He shook his head. "The water will be enough, thank you," he responded and took a sip."Do you always treat your employees like that, Emily?" Seniora asked. She didn’t seem curious at all; she was asking because she had figured out the spark between us. She probably expected me to deny it, but I never even considered that. Not once did it cross my mind. As an Arquette, I had always been a woman of my word and stood behind my actions, whether right or wrong.I was
I froze for a long moment, as if my feet were buried underground. My voice was totally gone. I never expected Eduardo to know someone like Seniora Los Santos. Not only did he know her, he was close to her. They were hugging each other warmly. How could that be?The timing couldn’t have been worse; the wine I sent to their table made them notice me. Eduardo's expression changed immediately. He looked as if he were seeing me for the first time in his life.I read his lips as he whispered my name, "Emily!"Then I saw another familiar face entering; it was his friend from that night—the owner of the farm where Eduardo took my mare, Luna. I recalled him vividly because he kept calling Eduardo "The Almighty Don" that night. Eduardo had told me he was only mocking him because of his hometown. My eyes met Seniora Los Santos'. She turned her face toward me, and a faint smile appeared as a greeting. I swallowed hard to clear the knot in my throat—though I didn't know why it was there—and forced
