"I'm sensing a pattern here"

"What pattern? I just like the movie"

"This is the third movie with the same actress. Do you have a crush on her?"

Mason grabbed the remote, feigning ignorance "If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed it"

"Liar" she hit him with a pillow. He grabbed it, kissed her forehead, and pressed play. They spent the next hour and a half watching the movie. At least, he did. Because Eva fell asleep halfway through, with her head resting on his shoulder. Three weeks had passed since her meltdown at the hospital. She'd tried to push him away by telling him all the awful things she'd done. She expected him to leave the way others had done but he was determined to show her that nothing she said would change his mind. He didn't expect her to be perfect. Just herself.

Just as he'd predicted, the board members had been angry. They chose Rafael Easton, his CFO, as the temporary CEO until he came back to his senses, their words not his. Al
