Renz's POV

The place looked flawless—it had my mother’s touch all over it, no doubt. Every detail was polished, almost too perfect. And yet, none of it calmed me. My chest tightened at the thought of my family gathered in one place. Too many faces, too many chances for something to go wrong.

But then I remembered—Marco was out there. Watching. Guarding. If anyone dared, Marco would see it first. That thought steadied me, if only a little.

The only thing that mattered was standing just outside the building. Nyx.

She looked different tonight—hair styled in a way that framed her face perfectly. She looked beautiful. Too beautiful to be mine. Yet she was. And seeing her there, waiting… God, it felt like she was waiting for me.

“Why are you out here?” I asked, closing the distance. Without thinking, I pulled her into my arms. She melted into me, and just for that moment, I could breathe.

“I missed you,” I whispered against her ear.

“I missed you too, Renz,” she whispered back.

I led her up

  • THE DEVIL'S MISTRESS   The boy next door

Camila's PovFinding an office was pretty easy. Finding a place to live? That was the real struggle.I sighed, half annoyed, half amused, then leaned back in my chair, chewing at my lip, and cursing in my head. Accommodation shouldn’t be this hard. I mean, I already have an office. Why does a roof have to feel like rocket science?I rolled my eyes laughing bitterly. Maybe I should just camp at the office. At least I won’t pay rent for air.Just then, my phone rang. Saved me from losing my mind.“Hello?”A gruff voice came through. It was the agent, the so-called house manager. “Miss Camila, good news. I found you an apartment.”Finally. “About time. Where?”He hesitated. “Well… not exactly where you asked. It’s farther out.”That made me frown. “Farther?”“Yes, but—listen—it’s a good one. Safe area. Spacious. I think you’ll like it.”His pause was too heavy. I caught it instantly. “Alright, spill it. What’s the catch?”He cleared his throat. “The price. It’s a little higher than we

  • THE DEVIL'S MISTRESS   A dangerous tie

Renz's PovI left home early that morning for a meeting with some foreign guests at the hotel. The meeting stretched longer than I had planned. By the time I wrapped it up, I was restless.Nyx’s race.I rushed out, hoping I could still make it before she started. I wanted to be there for her. When I got to the arena, the crowd was already loud. The announcer was calling names. I barely sat down at the VIP before I heard it—“CR7!”The place shook with cheers. Men, women, even kids with banners and sticks—they all screamed her name like they’d known it forever. And then I saw her.Nyx walked out in her racing gear, sharp and ready. She looked like she was born for this. Her eyes searched the closely, and when she finally spotted me, she smiled—pure relief on her face. That one look made my chest ease a little. The whistle blew. Engines roared. The race kicked off clean. She wasn’t leading, but damn, she was fierce—cutting corners sharp, pushing harder with every lap. I leaned forward,

  • THE DEVIL'S MISTRESS   The wild debut

Nyx’s POVLife felt unreal these days. Everything I had once begged the universe for was finally in my hands. A home, comfort, laughter… but most of all, Renz. The way he loved me now—it made me wonder if he was really the same man I had met years ago. The man who once scared me, now showered me with care so deep, I sometimes caught myself holding my breath just watching him.The sharp buzz of my phone snapped me out of my thoughts. I smiled the second I saw the name flashing on the screen—Rynna. My heart instantly melted.“Mummy!” her sweet voice exploded with joy as soon as I picked up.“Baby girl,” I whispered, my chest tightening. “I’ve missed you.”“I miss you more!” she rushed out, words tumbling over each other. “You don’t even know how everything feels without you around.”I chuckled softly. “Oh, really? Tell me, how’s school? Are you coping well?”Her voice lit up. “It’s great, Mum! I made a friend already, and the teachers are nice. But still… it’s not the same.”I could pic

  • THE DEVIL'S MISTRESS   The devil fooled himself

Things had been smooth lately. The club was running better than ever, new alliances were taking shape, and with Nyx beside me, life felt almost too good. I’d been counting down to the weekend—her first official race. I couldn’t wait to see her own that track, to watch her shine in her world. I’d already made my choice to stay away from racing, at least for now. No point in both of us living on that edge. Besides, the business was growing fast—I wouldn’t have time to play with speed every weekend anymore. A sudden noise cut through my thoughts. Raised voices.I rose from the lounge and walked toward it, unhurried, but I saw my men facing off with a man I knew too well. He was sharp in appearance—tailored suit, gold watch flashing, hair slicked back. A man of money. But greed always gave him away.“You can’t just take it away! I’ve been here for years—this is my lounge!”One of my guards blocked his path, calm but firm. The man’s eyes darted wildly before they landed on me. His cheeks

I didn’t bother with small talk.I looked at Nyx, then at Leonard, and spoke straight. “This is my brother,” I said, placing a hand on Leonard’s shoulder. Then I turned back to Nyx, my voice steady. “And this… is my fiancée.” For a second, it felt like the whole noise stopped. Nyx’s eyes went wide, shock written all over her face. “Renz… can we talk?” I patted Nyx’s hand once, then stepped aside with him. The moment we were out of earshot, Leonard’s tone turned sharp. “You didn’t get my message? Renz, what the hell are you doing?” I smirked. “Relax brother. Everything you think is wrong. Leonard narrowed his eyes, clearly not buying it. "Nyx isn’t who you think she is. And about the rumor—you can forget it. Ricardo, the mastermind, is dead. Gone. Anyone chasing vengeance will have to come through me first." He stared at me, searching for cracks in my words. I gave him none. “I’m serious,” I told him. “I wouldn’t take chances, not after striking my enemies. “I’ve got everyth
