Unusual Fight

Haelyn's POV

"Thirteens!"

The fighters went into the battle place and got ready to go at themselves. The signal was given and the fight began.

I watched the ground instead. It was stained with blood of the fighters who had been in there already. And half of them hadn't come out alive.

Killian had it easy with his opponent and he'd be strong enough for the next fight. I guessed it would be the next day, since everything was gamed and the sponsors wouldn't want to give a resting spell to the fighters.

The blows fell but I wasn't even looking. My mind was elsewhere. I was trying as hard as I could to shut out the screams and the grunts of pain in of my head.

I had never been so close to brutal fights, and it was having a negative effect on me. Seemed like I was better off on the battleground trying to survive than being out on the sidelines watching it all unfold.
