SERENA'S POV

The mere thought alone was enough to crush me from within. My sight blurring as both anger and severe identity crisis burned from within me.

I had initially thought… I had thought my life would be easier after marrying Eliot. I had thought I would be happy and content… that I would be safe and finally be free. He was the only reason I held on, gave my all… Eliot was the only good thing at the end of the dark tunnel called the family I was born into!

So, I gave it my all. Gave my very best to him and our marriage!

But now… now everything was falling apart… “What was even the point in trying so hard?” I whispered to myself,

What was the essence of my living and doing anything at all?! I shouldn’t have… I shouldn’t have to watch these people use me like I was some doll they bought with their money!

I don’t even have to put with them. At all!

"I will confirm with the doctor when you will be getting your checkup but take the stuff I got you and even this weekly exercise

SERENA’S POV“I can take care of them, they’re mine after all” I mimicked as I slammed the door. Or at least tried to. Even with my nose all scrunched up, face squeezed in nothing but pure distaste, I still couldn’t sound like that douchebag. “So annoying,”Grumbling, I kicked off my slippers, jumping right on my bed. The sketch pads and markers I had left to go downstairs for mom’s package, protesting in response. “I can’t believe he will say that. Helping me. He was helping? H-how??”Right from those divorce papers down to the very moment that just happened downstairs, what part displayed him helping me? Is it the part when he wanted to use me as a cover for the Inner circle gathering? Or the part where he tried to kiss me for his ‘crazy fantasy’? Or even now that he was putting my name as the mother of his unborn child? His bastard?!“Oh God,” I muttered, a humorously crackle leaving my lips as I shook my head. Disappointed. “Eliot’s crazy. Delusional. The man is totally not thinki

MAY’S POV“Tell your mom who really is pregnant for you and stop complicating my life! You've done enough. And don't you dare; don't you dare put my name along with your bastards in the same sentence!"Her words rang through the house, vibrating as she stormed up the stairs. Like she always does. Only this time, I knew something was wrong. Something was definitely wrong! Then came the loud thud, “Can’t believe this!”Eliot. Our eyes met briefly as he looked around, gauging just how much we all saw from his display with that Serena. And without a word, he walked away. Heading for the very same stairs she used. “Did you hear that?” A whisper came, “He told the Lady he will take care of Madam and the baby.”“But Madam’s not having a baby. Instead it’s that-” their words got cut off immediately, my glare tight as I glowered at them. Were they seriously going to point at me? Gossiping close was not enough, they wanted to point and laugh as well? In my face??The nerves of these maids! It w

ELIOT’S POV Who knew getting female bodyguards would be this stifling? One moment I point out I don't want excessive feedback and the next moment I receive zero feedbacks all together. Why? Because I had pointed out the excessiveness in the first place?? Should I have just gotten male bodyguards from the start? “See if you can get a replacement for the bodyguards, Elias. Males this time.” I muttered as we drove home. “Is something wrong with the females, Sir?” He asked, looking back at me from the rear-view mirror. “They started a few days ago so...” “Males are better for the job, are they not?” “They are, Sir.” He blinked, looking back at the road. After a moment, “But Sir, if you don’t want Madam to know about it… females are your best bet. They wouldn’t stand out as much.” Of course they wouldn’t. They probably disguised to follow her about, reason why they kept losing her all over the place. Starting from her very first day out with them! “They’re professionals, I assur

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 67

SERENA’S POVThe next few days after that fabric shopping with Mae was just a blur of us setting stuffs up. First, getting a mini sized hall to house our little business. A few sewing machines, cutting & ironing tables, mannequins, pattern papers, mirrors… and every other thing important thing. Next, we moved to setting it all up, and honestly, this was my one of my favorite parts.Stressful no doubt, but I was all smiles throughout. Possibly because it was all coming together so fast, thanks to Eliot’s card still in my possession. I was going to use his money for as long as I could. He owed me so much more.“Oh my God, thank you so much, Madam! This place is beautiful.”Hear that? That’s the sound of Mae happily thanking me after i got her a fully furnished apartment not too far from our rented hall. That’s Eliot’s card speaking. Money well spent as far as I was concerned.Anyways, we quickly got into fabric sorting & arranging after she moved in, until finally, sketching. The part th

ELIOT’S POV“Sir, she’s in the store now. We’re behind her”“Good, keep following her.” I texted back. My fingers fast, “I need every new update, everything.”Once I got that “Yes, Sir.” I instantly put my phone down. Eyes back on the projector screen, on the darked haired man currently speaking at the front. “The revenue streams are holding steady this quarter, although slightly lesser but digital ads dipped about seven percent last week. So-“Dipped?” I questioned, halting his words. “That’s a new word for bleeding, Mr. Gomez? If the startups are eating our share, then someone in this room isn’t doing their job. How can you call it a dip.”The room fell silent. Papers shuffling as a few adjusted on their seats, throats clearing. “I err…Sir,” He called, “I apologize, I will immediately get the inspection team on this.”“We’re also testing out AI-driven personalization for content feeds.” The tech lead on the far end of my left said, coming to Gomez aid. “The early models suggest we ca
