ELIOT’S POV

Where is it?

“Where the hell did that damned envelope go?!” I growled, slamming a fist on a nearby stack of files. Papers flying all over the place but I didn’t care. Just stood still, jaw clenched, nostrils flaring, muscles twitching as I ticked with more anger as seconds passed.

“Have you considered therapy, Eliot?” her voice echoed in my ears again, “It’s about time, you’re going nuts now.”

Going nuts?

Me, going nuts??

“The nerves!” I muttered. Those mocking blue eyes flashing in my head. Again. The fifth damn time since yesterday!

It was a new day. I was currently at the office, but not once did I stop thinking about it all. Replaying the events in my head, our exchange, her absolute denial for a truth that we both knew! And just… just… “Argh!”

“How dare she even suggest that something is wrong with me? Ho-how?!” I bristled, knocking down extra stack of files. “I need therapy? Because I’m trying to call her to order? Get her to stop playing the crazy game she thinks sh

ELIOT’S POVSerena is here?Right here and… dressed like that??“What in the world…” I trailed off softly, stunned as I watched her effortlessly join the crowd. Smiling at a few persons that locked eyes with her. Shoulders squared, head held high and eyes cutting through the hall like a sly predator. Her targets? Our souls. It was both unnerving, intense and alluring at the same time! Piquing my interest. But all that ended the moment my view of her got blocked. Huh? “What the hell?” My eyebrows furrowed, a frown immediately coming on. “Woah, who is that? I don’t know her” a comment came filtering to my ears. Awfully reminding me of how long I had been staring, steps halted at the center of the hall where women and gossips abound.“Whoever she is, she’s looks good! She and the delicious looking man standing with her now.” My frown deepened, eyes returning back to her now. To the figure that had blocked my view, which I was now realizing was that of a man. A broad backed man fashioned

ELIOT’S POVThe Sovereign Society.Inner Circle Gathering… this was it. A dark themed hall covered with unnecessary flashy lights suspended in the air as crystal chandeliers. Black & white marble floors, deep red carpets matching the high drapes decorating the entire hall, champagne stations scattered in all four corners of the wide spaced hall. The rules were simple; no invite, no entry. And above all, no press.“Can we have the caviar now?” Ambrose Harrington, a 64-year-old Senator and political royalty sounded out. Gesturing to a waitstaff as he sat at his table. An uncommon air of superiority rising off him, making me scrunch my nose in disgust as other guests fawned over him.But I guess it couldn’t be helped. He was after all old money. Like most persons present. I let my eyes wander off him to other activities in the buzzing crowd. Immediately, spotting an average built man dressed in black velvet suit, an all-white dressed lady on his arm. Dressed to match, as they made their

SERENA’S POV“Ready?”I took a deep breath, one last time to calm my nerves. “Ready,” I smiled, and right after the sound of curtains being pulled apart filled the air.The bright light from the fitting lounge pouring in as I stood, slightly skeptical as my eyes took it all in. The massive floor length mirrors on every corner of the wide spaced lounge, the cream comfotabele couches to match, smiling faces of the assistants standing around and finally, a set of baby blue eyes. Just staring up at me from his phone. No words said.A few seconds passed and still nothing. No words, no comments. “Is something wrong?” I voiced out, my voice slightly worried now. But I didn’t even wait for a response before stepping down from the podium the attendants had helped me change on.My legs quickly led me to the path of the mirrors. A startling gasp leaving my lips as I stared right back at my own reflection. Not believing my eyes. “Oh God,” I breathed silently.Standing face to face was someone tha

SERENA’S POVQuickly, I pulled my hands away from Axel’s face. My head turning so fast to face her that I was surprised I didn’t get a whiplash. But can a girl do? “Mom! Wh-what are doing here?” “I think I asked you that first, Serena.” She said, stepping closer with hot red heels. Causing my eyes to take a clean sweep of her entire outfit. A sleek black jumpsuit with diamond accents, accentuating her petite features, black hair pulled in a high ponytail with red heels to top it all off.She looked good to say the least.Even with her furrowed eyebrows currently directed at me and the spot right next to me. Or should I say the person next to me. “Is that… Axel?” she muttered, surprised. “Axel Beckett?” “Hello, Melissa” Axel sounded out, his voice smooth as ever. But somehow that worsened the situation cause her eyebrows furrowed even more.“What are you two doing together?” Mom questioned, her tone high with suspicion. “I just…you- how are you here? I’m confused.”“Melissa,” Axel ca

SERENA’S POVDo you ever look at someone and feel like you're staring into the face of everything that's ever wrong with your life? Like the very reason or source of all your problems. All of it.Because I have. And not just physically anymore, even in my dreams! Eliot was appearing in my dreams now. Can you believe that?I couldn’t be more livid to be honest. I had shot up from bed, realizing what had happened. That was the end of sleeping for me. “I’ve had enough sleep,” I had told myself. So instead, I spent the remaining hours of the night practicing the exact thing I had bought those paper boards for- visualizing bold designs.Vivienne’s words still echoed in my mind; “More of this and less of those timid sketches, then watch yourself shine!” she had said in her email. She had become my Icon at this point. Her every word giving me life and hope. A burning, unrelenting hope deep inside of me! And with it, I used it to push myself even more. Determined to do as she had said.Bold D
