***JAMIE***

“And this will be your room, young prince. Your roommates are already waiting for you,” Mr. Fred, the boarding director, said, and I just mouthed a ‘thank you’ to him, and with that, he was gone. I stood in front of the door, taking steady breaths.

“Jamie?” I heard a familiar voice call behind me, and I turned to look at him.

“Spencer?” I called in surprise. “I mean, I’m not surprised to see you, it’s just, well, I am surprised,” I said awkwardly.

“Me too,” he said, then frowned. “Although I’m not sure if I should be talking to you,” he added. And I remembered, I had left his younger sister at the altar.

“I’m sorry—of course, you shouldn’t,” I said and bowed my head.

“Hey! Come on, I never really supported you two. You are too cold to handle Avery, trust me,” he said, and I smiled at how nice he was. This was exactly why I fell for him.

“Is that your room?” he asked, pointing to the door.

“Yes,” I answered shyly, “although I haven’t really been inside,” I added.

“Cool, this is my room,” he said, pointing to the room opposite mine, and boy, could Silverstone get any better? I was going to see the man I loved every morning.

“Oh, that is so close,” I pointed out the obvious.

“Come on, let me help you in. Trust me, you have the best roommates. Shane and Scott would be so happy to have you. They’re a set of twins and might make you feel left out at times, but trust me, they are the best. We’re friends,” he boasted as he walked to my door, knocked, then pushed it open without even waiting for a reply.

“Shane! Scott! Your roommate is here,” he yelled, but got no response.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in. They were going to resume today,” Spencer said as he glanced at his wristwatch to check the time. “Just go on in, I’m sure they’ll be back soon enough,” he said with that warm smile of his that lit up my day.

Sluggishly, I went into the room. Spencer turned on the lights for me. I was met with a very pretty and neat room, and quite spacious too, and thankfully, we only shared the living room area, and everyone had a door to their rooms. That alone relieved me a bit. I had been fretting about not having my space.

“Cool, yeah?” Spencer asked, and I nodded.

“You should rest. School starts tomorrow,” Spencer said, and with that, he left while I just started walking around, taking a proper tour of the apartment.

I had barely settled in when a knock came at the door. I stiffened up, at the thought of meeting my new roommates. Then I walked towards the door and opened it.

Just as the door opened, a woman in her early thirties stepped in, and walked past me inside.

“Sorry… who are you?” I asked, brows pulling together. “This is a male's dorm.”

She laughed hysterically as she turned towards me. “male's dorm? So what are you doing here?”

My breath caught and I stepped back instinctively. She must have been the one that overheard my conversation with my parents.

She scoffed slightly at my reaction and took a seat on one of the couches. “You look like you've seen a ghost.”

I swallowed hard. “Who…”

She didn't let me finish. “Save your breath, princess. If I was going to expose you, I'd already have by now.”

My hands tightened into fists as I moved closer to her. “What exactly is your play?”

She sighed sharply. “I'll get you all the protection you need, and I'll keep my mouth shut about your secret. In return, you owe me a favor.”

“And what exactly is that favor?”

She kissed her teeth as she stood up. “Not too fast… I'll let you know when the time is right.”

My eyes lingered on her, trying to get hold of anything else she's not saying.

She stood up and started walking towards the door. She was almost at the exit when she suddenly stopped and threw a bag to my chest.

There's enough sanitary pads to last you a month in that bag. And, my name is Lydia, See you in class… Ciao.”

With that, she stepped out and the door closed gently behind her.

I stood there frozen, eyes fixed at the door. There's no way she's a student. She most likely is a teacher here.

I tugged the bag closer to my chest and started darting towards my room.

Whoever she seems to be… I can't fully trust her.

“Hey Jamie, you don’t mind me calling you Jamie, do you?” Spencer immediately asked when he saw me come out of my room. I smiled like a fool.

“I don’t mind. We’re equals here, aren’t we?” I asked, and he nodded.

“Of course we are, so how was your first night in Silverstone?”

“Great, not bad. Having a room to myself makes it feel like home,” I stretched, but made sure I clutched my notebooks in my hands.

“What? Scott and Shane never made it back yesterday?” he asked, and I just stared at him, confused.

“No? I thought Father must have pulled some strings to let me have the space to myself since no one showed up!” I said, and Spencer just burst out laughing hard.

“What? Am I wrong?” I stared at him, confused.

“Well, strings don’t work in Silverstone. Living together in dorms is part of the lessons of Silverstone, but don’t worry, Scott and Shane have always done as they wished, so I’m sure they’ll come soon enough. Let’s get you to class,” he said as he placed a hand around my shoulder.

My brain went blank, and I just stood there, not moving.

“Come on Jamie, let’s go,” I heard him say, but it didn’t register in my head. My body just stood there, transfixed to the ground.

“Jamie? Jamie?” he called, tapping my shoulders.

“What did you say?” I asked as I got my mobility back.

“Are you alright? You seem off,” he looked at me with so much care in his eyes as he started checking me out. I felt pampered and seen for the first time by my crush.

“No, I love your hands around me,” I blurted out without thinking twice while he just stared at me in shock.

“What?” he asked, chuckling, then what I’d just said registered in my head.

“No, I mean… that came out wrong, jeez!” I slammed my palm against my forehead in frustration, shutting my eyes in embarrassment.

“It’s fine, Jamie, I think you’re cute too,” I heard Spencer say. I immediately opened my eyes and stared at him, shocked.

Was he flirting with me? I wondered, but that didn’t make sense. To him, I was a man, except if he knew my secret.

“Come on, you don’t want to be late on your first day!” he said as he practically dragged me with him.

Soon enough, we were in class, and Spencer pulled out a seat for me right beside him. But my mind was occupied already. I couldn’t think straight about what Spencer meant by finding me cute. I threw him a look, and our eyes locked. He winked at me, and I gave him an awkward smile.

“Our first class will be an introductory one. We always have to introduce ourselves at the start of each semester,” Spencer leaned in as he explained, and I just nodded, afraid that if I tried to speak, my words might yet again fail me.

An older woman walked in, and everyone stopped murmuring. She stood in front of the class, smiling brightly at all of us.

“Gentlemen…” she began, breathing in and out as though she was about to run a marathon. “We start the new semester today, and I’m sure you know the drill.”

“Yes ma'am… we know the rules,” a chubby boy from the far end of class said, and the whole class turned towards him.

The woman smiled slightly. “Thank you.”

“So the rules! No bullying, no alcohol! Everyone is equal, and NO WOMEN!” she yelled the last part, and everyone started chuckling. There must be some history behind the laughter, I thought.

“And now, we’ll start the introductions with your new classmate!” the woman said, and I knew she was about to call my name.

“Jamie Silver of Frostvale!” she said, pointing in my direction.

“Now is the time you get up and walk to the front of the class,” Spencer whispered.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I rolled my eyes, but knew I had to do just that since the whole class now had their eyes on me.

I slowly got up, not at all enjoying the attention. I walked to the front and stood there. “Go on,” the woman nudged me, and I just cleared my throat.

“I’m Jamie, son of Alpha Silver, from Frostvale!” I said in a low tone, but loud enough for anyone to understand.

The woman continued saying whatever, and I just let my mind wander off, not paying mind to whatever she was saying, since there was a huge chance Spencer had figured out my identity.

“Come on, let’s get back to the dorms!” Spencer said to me, his hand on my shoulders. He was getting quite touchy, and I loved it.

“What! We’re done?” I asked, and he nodded.

“The first day of each semester is just for us to meet new people, listen to rules, and go back to unpack for those who got here late yesterday,” he explained, and that made sense. I still had a lot of unpacking to do.

We walked out of the classroom and back to the dorms. “I’ll see you later, yeah?”

“Of course!” I answered as I pushed the door to my room open while Spencer entered his room.

I flung my bag on the couch in the sitting room and began to take my clothes off right from the sitting room. I had packed my boobs too tightly, and the tightness was killing me. I pulled my shirt over my head but struggled to get it off.

“Why do you have a bandage around your chest?” I heard someone ask, and I froze. I struggled out of the shirt and almost ripped it off.

Immediately I got it off, I was met with two different pairs of familiar green eyes, but that wasn’t my problem. The problem was, they were staring right into my chest!
