The bartender and I turned simultaneously and he immediately dropped me as if he had seen a ghost and bowed towards the dark.

Was he insane?

There was literally no one except darkness there so what was he bowing to and who spoke just now?

The room was dimly-lit so I could barely see the man who spoke because he was surrounded by darkness but as soon as he came into the light, I held my breath as I could feel my heart skipping a beat from panic.

Some strands fell out and covered his left eyes completely but when the breeze blew it away, a gasp escaped my lips as I was a scar running down his cheek from the eye.
