Elara’s POV

I stood by the window, watching Edwin speak to the soldier outside.

I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but I could tell from their expressions that something was wrong.

The soldier looked exhausted, his clothes covered in dust as though he had travelled a considerable distance. Edwin listened without interrupting, occasionally asking questions that made the soldier gesture toward the direction of Icefall.

Then Edwin’s expression hardened.

My stomach tightened. What could have ha

  • THE LUNA’S CROWN   The ghost of my past

Elara’s POVThe closer my coronation approached, the more difficult it became to ignore the thought of seeing Kael again.I had tried to convince myself that his presence wouldn’t matter. After everything that had happened between us, I had no reason to be nervous about meeting him. He was my past, and I had already found a future I wanted to hold on to.Yet, every time I remembered that he would receive an invitation as the Alpha of Moonridge, an uncomfortable feeling settled in my stomach. It wasn’t because I wanted him back.At least, that was what I kept telling myself.I simply didn’t want to see him. I didn’t want to hear his voice, look into his eyes, or be reminded of the woman I had been when I lived under his roof.I didn’t want Moonridge anywhere near the life I was building in Icefall.Unfortunately, I couldn’t prevent the pack from inviting its neighboring Alphas to my coronation simply because I wanted to avoid one of them , and that was what troubled me the most.I was

  • THE LUNA’S CROWN   The woman who will wear the crown

I woke up the following morning with a strange feeling in my chest. For a few moments, I remained beneath the covers, staring at the ceiling while the events of the previous evening replayed in my mind.Edwin had announced before the entire pack that I was his mate and that he intended to make me his Luna and had told me about my coronation. The thought alone was enough to make my heart flutter.I had once been a Luna, but that life felt like a distant memory now. At Moonridge, I had worn the title without truly understanding how lonely a woman could feel while standing beside the man she loved. I had possessed the position, the responsibilities, and the respect that came with being an Alpha’s mate, yet I had spent countless nights wondering whether I was enough. Now, I had the opportunity to become a Luna again.Only this time, I would not be fighting to prove that I deserved my place beside my mate.Edwin had already chosen me and somehow, that made the thought of wearing another cr

  • THE LUNA’S CROWN   The announcement

Elara’s POVBy the time evening arrived, the entire packhouse seemed unusually busy.Servants hurried through the hallways, warriors gathered in small groups, and the dining hall was filled with more excitement than I had seen in days.I had spent most of the afternoon thinking about what Elder Elijah had told us.The missing merchant, the questions about Icefall’s defenses and most troubling of all, his interest in me.Edwin had assured me that his warriors would investigate the matter, but I couldn’t completely shake the uneasiness it had left behind.Still, I had other things to think about.Like the promise Edwin had made at the cabin about my coronation as Luna of icefall.Every time the thought crossed my mind, my stomach fluttered.I had been a Luna before, but that experience had left me with more painful memories than happy ones. The idea of standing before an entire pack again, knowing everyone would be looking at me, was both exciting and frightening.Yet, whenever I though

Elara’s POVI stood by the window, watching Edwin speak to the soldier outside.I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but I could tell from their expressions that something was wrong. The soldier looked exhausted, his clothes covered in dust as though he had travelled a considerable distance. Edwin listened without interrupting, occasionally asking questions that made the soldier gesture toward the direction of Icefall. Then Edwin’s expression hardened. My stomach tightened. What could have happened?I stepped away from the window, trying to convince myself that I was worrying unnecessarily.Icefall had only recently recovered from a war. Surely, we were entitled to a little peace.A few moments later, the cabin door opened.Edwin walked inside, closing it behind him.“What happened?” I asked immediately. He looked at me, and whatever he saw in my expression made him sigh.“Nothing has happened to the pack. At least, not yet.”“Not yet?” I repeated. “Edwin, you’re making me nervous.”

  • THE LUNA’S CROWN   Sex sounds

We stepped into the bedroom together, the door clicking shut behind us with a soft finality that made my pulse jump. Morning light filtered through the curtains, painting thin gold stripes across the bed where I had spent the restless night alone. Edwin’s hand was still warm around mine, his thumb stroking once over my knuckles as if to remind me I could still change my mind.I didn’t.I turned to face him fully. The quiet of the room felt different now, charged, and waiting. His eyes moved over my face with that same careful intensity he always wore when something mattered too much to rush. I reached up and rested my palms against his chest, feeling the steady thud of his heart beneath the fabric of his shirt.“I’m still certain,” I whispered.A low sound left his throat. He cupped my face in both hands and kissed me going deeper this time, no longer testing. His mouth opened against mine, slow and deliberate, tasting me like he had all the time in the world and still couldn’t get e

  • THE LUNA’S CROWN   Heat over

Elara’s POVI barely slept that night as I noticed my desperation had made Edwin sleep in the living room.Every time I closed my eyes, I remembered Edwin standing beside my bed, his restraint, and his words.“I need to know that when you choose me, it’s because Elara chose me.”At the time, I had been frustrated. Now, lying alone in the quiet bedroom, I understood. He hadn’t rejected me, he had protected me from making a decision I might later question and somehow, that meant more to me than if he had simply given in.I turned onto my side and stared at the window. My body still felt warm, but the overwhelming desperation from earlier had faded.I waited a little longer, then I realized that the heat was gone.I sat up slowly as my breathing steadied. My wolf was quiet. For the first time since yesterday, there was no desperate voice inside my head demanding that I find my mate. There was only silence and yet…I still wanted Edwin.A small smile touched my lips. So this was what he ha
