“Lucas!” it was my mother’s turn to yell, “Don’t say that.”

“Why not?” he replied, equally hot.

“How dare you say something like that?” I shot back, finally finding my voice. “How dare you?”

He clicked his tongue as he chuckled angrily, “Just go back to whatever shithole you popped out from,” he turned to go.

“Don’t you dare turn your back on me!” I yelled. “This was supposed to be a happy reunion, why are you so bent on destroying it?”
