Elara's POV

I stood there at the door, frozen, staring at Seraphina for another moment.

“Hello, Elara,” she said, her voice calm… too calm.

My mouth felt dry. “L..Lady Seraphina… what are you doing in my room?”

“Sit,” she said gently, pointing at the edge of my bed.

I hesitated for a heartbeat. I was still shaken from everything… Aldric’s confrontation just some moments ago and the guards dragging Hector away because of me, and then… gods… what I saw when I barged into his room.

Everything in my mind was a tangled mess.

But something about Seraphina’s voice softened me.

So I moved to the bed and sat down. She didn’t sit immediately. She walked around slowly, almost studying me.

“I came to speak with you,” she said softly.

“I don’t really think there’s anything left to say,” I muttered. “Your son made that very clear madam.”

She lifted her brow, like she was studying me for a moment longer.

“Aldric can be… harsh.”

She paused before correcting herself. “Very harsh.”

Aldric POVShe looked deceptively peaceful like this.Elara laid down across her, her chest rising and falling in those soft breaths. The morning light spilled through the window behind me, pouring a warm glow into the room. She was beautiful.Infuriatingly beautiful. And mine.I stood at the foot of her bed longer than I should have, my arms folded staring at her.The girl who was going to ruin me.Her lashes fluttered, her body shifted, her lips parting as she stretched lazily under the sheets.I snapped myself out of it when she began to make gentle movements.“Rise and shine…”Her eyes flew open instantly like she's seen a ghost. She jerked upright so fast her hair whipped across her face.I smirked. “Cute.”She pressed a hand to her chest, glaring at me.“What are you doing here?”Her voice was lazy, but still beautiful.I kept my expression neutral. “Have you forgotten? This is my palace. I can be anywhere I want, at any time I want.”“That doesn’t mean you should go around sca

  • THE LYCAN KING’S CLAIM   CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Elara's POVMy hands were shaking in rage.My heart was pounding so loud I couldn't hear the voices around me.I didn’t even realize I was moving until I found myself storming through the corridors again, ignoring the servants as I passed. No one stopped me.I didn’t care where I was going until I reached his door.I stood in front of the massive doors I’d promised myself I'd never enter. The Lycan King's room.I didn’t knock, I just shoved them open, the anger guiding me.The sound hit me first before I saw it.The sound of loud moans, ragged breathing and skin slapping against each other. Then I saw him.Aldric.And under him, was a she wolf.He drove his cock through her relentlessly, almost like a punishment, his movement swift and desperate. The world stilled. He froze once I pushed the door open, his body still and his eyes snapping to mine. The woman gasped and scrambled to cover herself, but I couldn’t move. The image was something I couldn't unsee. And for a moment, neither o

  • THE LYCAN KING’S CLAIM   CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Elara's POVI woke up before the sun fully rose. The kingdom was already lively, the faint sounds of servants moving through corridors, whistled through my room.I couldn’t stay in that room any longer. If I did, I'd remember Aldric’s harsh words or think about Jude’s cryptic, and I didn't want any of that.I needed to breathe.I pulled on a cloak and I stepped out quietly, my footsteps soft as I walked through the long corridor.A servant passed by me, her steps urgent, but the moment her eyes met mine, she looked away quickly, moving somewhat closer further from meI raisedy brows, a little bit auroised by her reaction. But I shrugged it off and continued walking. But it wasn't only her, every time I passed by a cleaner, or maid or servant, they would turn away from him in fear, some even bowed.By the fifth person who did it, I felt something tighten in my chest. What was happening? They were treating me like some queen? When I reached the kitchen, the smell of baked bread and roas

  • THE LYCAN KING’S CLAIM   CHAPTER TWELVE

Jude’s POVI stared at my phone long after the call went dead. Her name was still on my screen… Elara.“I’m sorry.”Two words, two stupid words that left my mouth before I could stop them. And now I'm here wind whether to regret it or not.I told myself it was nothing, maybe just the guilt catching up to me.But the truth was that, I missed her. I missed her scent around me, I missed everything about her.I raked my hand through my hair, pacing across the room.Just then, the door creaked open and she stepped in… Lily. She slipped inside smoothly, wearing that smug grin that always irritated me.She didn’t need permission to enter my room… she assumed she already had it.“Well,” she said, her tone laced with satisfaction, “I heard the good news. That little brat is finally out of our hair. Guess we can focus on our mating ceremony now.”I froze. “Our what?”“Our mating ceremony.” She moved her head, clearly enjoying herself.“Tomorrow night. Your mother already made the arrangements.

  • THE LYCAN KING’S CLAIM   CHAPTER ELEVEN

Elara’s POVThe words “Lycan Queen” still echoed in my head almost a minute since she said the words.I didn’t even realize I was staring at Aldric until my lips parted, and the words left my mouth.“W..What does she mean by that?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. For a brief second, Aldric’s expression faltered, like the words his mom said were actually true and he was about to confirm it.But then, suddenly his eyes darkened.“She means nothing,” he said, his tone like a blade. “My mother speaks nonsense.”I blinked, stunned by his outburst. “But she said—”He cut me off before I could finish. “Do not mistake her words for truth. You are not…” he paused, his gaze dragging over me for a moment. “.. someone of royal stature. You’re a mere female wolf from a lower pack. You're a low life and can't be fit to be Lycan Queen.”The words hit harder than any slap could. My throat went dry. I could feel everyone’s eyes in the room on me, from the guards to his mom.I was a low life?
