MERILYN
“LUNA!” The loud shattering of ceramic shot through the air; shards flew all over the place.
I froze mid-step and stared at the broken ceramic bowls. “Oh, that’s bad.”
I stared at the maid; her face had gone pale, her eyes filled with dread as sweat dotted her forehead.
“I’m sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.” I smiled apologetically.
Her eyes darted to the top of the staircase as if waiting for my husband to materialize and yell at her.
I moved closer, my hand stroking her shoulder. “Relax. He’ll be too much in a good mood to care about some broken ceramic bowls.”
That was true. Warren would be too happy to care. After all his whiny texts for three days, pleading with me to come back early, I just couldn’t stay away.
“Forgive me for breaking the plates; I didn’t know you would be back this early.” The maid said, still trembling beneath my touch.
I nodded, noting the way her eyes kept shifting back and forth.
“Whoever you’re trying to mind-link clearly doesn’t want to talk to you.” I chuckled and stepped away.
“Quickly, clear this up before anyone gets hurt, alright?”
I turned, pulling my suitcase towards the stairs, and left it close to the wall before hurriedly climbing the stairs.
My wolf purred within me, pacing with excitement; her infectious joy rippled through me as my heart raced.
I can’t wait to see the pure look of joy on his face.
I yanked the door wide open. “Warren, I’m ho—”
I froze.
“Y-Yes, Alpha!! Oh! F-Fuck me!!”
“Fuc-king pussy! All m-mine! Yes! Do you love my cock?”
“Ughhhh… It’s s-so g-good!”
The words faded in and out. I stood there rooted to the spot, staring as Warren ferociously pounded into…
I blinked. It didn't make sense.
I could see them, and yet my brain couldn’t make sense of it…
I was dreaming… I had to be.
But three pounds later, the scene didn’t change. Warren was fucking my maid…
My stomach churned; bile rose in my chest.
I couldn’t speak; my tongue, heavy against the floor of my mouth, refused to move, and I stood there, forced to watch as my husband cheated on me.
Suddenly, his head turned, and Warren’s blue eyes clouded with lust met mine—
“By the gods!” he screamed, jerking out of her as he hurriedly covered himself.
Nerissa yelped, scrambling for her clothes as she scurried off to the corner like a mouse.
“M-Merilyn… H-how long have you been there?” Warren asked, his eyes frantically searching mine.
“L-Luna—”
“Shut the fuck up!” he yelled, glaring at Nerissa, who hid back in the shadows, whimpering.
Talk!
Yell! Say something! How can you stand there and watch this?!
“M-Merilyn, th-this is not what it looks like. I-I can explain.”
The lump in my throat thickened, and my eyes stung. Ten years…. Ten years together, and this was where it all ended.
Without a word, I stepped back—“No, no, no. Mery, baby, listen to me! I can explain!” Warren yelled as he rushed to get dressed—and slowly shut the door.
I walked down the stairs, picked up my suitcase, and in the corner of my eye, I saw the maid from earlier hiding behind the wall, staring at me.
So she knew. That was why she was so scared when she saw me, why she kept glancing at the stairs… why she continuously tried to mind-link someone.
Just how many people knew about this?
I dumped my bag into the back of the car and got into the driver’s seat just as Warren burst out the door, running towards me.
“Merilyn, wait!” he blurted out, standing before the car. “Baby, please get out of the car and let’s talk about this.”
I turned on the ignition, and he became more agitated. “Merilyn, listen to me! I promise it’s not what it looks like! It’s not! Don’t do this, baby. I’m begging—” I shoved the gear into place and slammed down on the accelerator.
“Ah!” His groan of agony pierced the air as he leapt out of the way, sliding over the gravel pathway. “Merilyn!” He screamed after me, but I didn’t stop. I drove like a madman, amping up the speed as I crossed the pack borders into the lonely street.

“More.” I slammed my shot glass on the tabletop, watching the bartender refill it immediately.
“There you go, love.” He beamed, brushing his fingers over my palm. I hissed, pulling it back quickly and downing the entire contents at once.
“More.” He happily poured more, but I didn’t drink it at once; I stared at the glass cup, my eyes heavy but not fully drunk.
“Fuck…you. War—” hiccup “—ren. You should—rot… in Tartarus.”
I chugged it down, slammed it back on the table, and gestured for more.
“That’s enough.” A sultry command came from beside me; the musky scent of sandalwood, peppermint, and something else attacked my senses.
I looked up and up and up. Wow, he’s tall.
“Hey, let the lady drink to her fill—”
“Close her tab; she’s done for the night.” The same smooth command again. I hiccuped and realized who he was. The same man who had been glaring at me all night.
He’d glared so much, I’d scratched my arm until it turned red.
“Hey, who are you to her? She’s clearly—”
“Close. Her. Tab.”
Something shifted in the air, and the bartender went pale. “Y-Yes, sir.”
Ugh! I still can’t see his face.
I tugged at his sleeve, and his head lazily turned to look at me.
I let out a sound that was somewhere along the lines of a gasp, a choke, and a hiccup.
Two pairs of heterochromia eyes stared back at me. One was the color of ginger brown, and the other…it was like staring into the static waves of an ocean.
A strand of his silky dark hair fell over his face, and I itched to stroke it back in.
My gaze fell to his perfectly sculpted nose, freckled cheeks, and then his lips…
He was even more ethereal up close.
I suddenly felt hot . My thighs tightened, pressing down on the pulsating ache in the middle of my legs.
Oh goddess! I’m about to orgasm in front of a stranger.
MERILYN"What the hell? How was it broadcasted? We were in the freaking forest."Kitara shook her head, "Someone must have been hiding there. Do you think he did it on purpose? Was this part of his plan?"The thought of Warren doing something like this didn't sit well with me. "But how could he? He doesn't know anyone here.""He doesn't have to—""Now is not the time to discuss this. We need to take Merilyn to a safe place." Valios said as he ushered us towards the car. We'd just gotten into the car when Warren suddenly appeared in front of it."Hey! Let her go! Where are you taking her?" He yelled, banging his palm on the hood of the car."At this point, might as well run the fucking bastard over." Flinn hissed.Valios turned on the ignition, the car's blinding light illuminating the dark night."Get out of the way." He growled at Warren. Warren took a few steps backward, spreading his arms out in the air."Not unless she comes out of there."Valios shoved the gear into Drive and I s
MERILYNMy entire world froze and shattered into tiny ice shards. Warren, standing before me in the flesh.Just seeing his face sent a wave of nostalgia through me. The man I'd spent years loving, ten years giving him my whole world, my entire life. The image of him fucking Nerissa on our matrimonial bed danced through my mind and the hate and pain and anger just came running back. I couldn't imagine it."What are you doing here?" The words came out softer than I intended. I guess a part of me was still affected by him."I'm here to take you home." He said, his hand stretched out, reaching for me. I took a step back, maintaining the distance between us.The guard behind me positioned himself between us, one hand on the hilt of his sword. "Maintain your distance, sir."Warren clearly didn't like the tone the guard gave him, because he instantly got in his face."Move away, I'm speaking to my—""That's enough." I butted in, stopping Warren from completing his statement."Can you give
MERILYN"Aww, you look so pretty." Kitara fawned as she stared at me through the reflection.I beamed. I did look pretty. The dress Kairen had gotten custom-made for me just for the festival tonight was truly stunning."You really did a good job, Gwendolyn!" Heira grinned, pinching both their cheeks. She'd had to beg Beta Valios to let her get ready in my bedroom.Gwen and Lyn smiled with pride and satisfaction. When Kairen had given them both the gig to make the dress, no one told me anything about it.All I noticed was Gwen and Lyn being absent at the same time for days, or sneaking off together when no one was watching.Caigar and Flinn didn't appreciate that their women were spending more time with each other than with them. And it wasn't until a few days ago when both of them invited me to Gwen's bedroom for a fitting did I finally understand what was going on."With this, it's safe to say you both will make it big in the fashion industry."I stood to my feet and hugged both of t
THIRD PERSON'S POVWarren burst out from the open entrance, his gaze instantly narrowed in on the old woman standing off to the side. Her hands folded as her gaze darted back and forth. Whatever had made her listen to her son to deliver this message? She'd tried to put it off for as long as she could, but when she found out Lorelei, the King's mate, was the sender, she had no choice but to do it. The last thing she wanted was for the King's men to break down her door and punish her for disobeying Lorelei's orders. And so, here she was, surrounded by their rivals, who could easily slit her throat before she could blink. The old woman scurried back when Warren suddenly appeared next to her. Where the hell had he come from? She hadn't even smelled him coming?"Tell me, where did you get this?" Warren asked, practically shoving the picture in her face. It took everything within him not to grab her by the shoulders and shake her until she told him what he wanted. The woman stared at th
THIRD PERSON'S POVValios's eyes snapped open. His beast reacted to the change in the atmosphere. Something was coming for him.He pulled away from Heira and got out of bed. Shrugging on his coat, he made his way downstairs. The door burst open and Caelys walked in, hitting the bottom of her staff on the floor with every step she took."Priestess," he called as he descended the stairs. "Visiting so late at night?"Caelys ignored him and covered the distance between them. She raised her hand and placed it on his chest. Her lips moved as she muttered some unintelligible words under her breath.Valios felt something leave him, but he didn't pull away from her touch. Caelys looked up and stared at the beast image floating above Valios's head. Its aura was red, and the beast reared its head back and forth like it was trying to break free.Caelys took a step back, breaking the connection between her and Valios and the image disappeared.Valios stared at her unbothered and the young pries
THIRD PERSON'S POVThe young priestess was truly speechless. She had no idea what to say or do.Of everything she'd expected to encounter, finding out the future Luna was a witch was not one of them."You don't have an answer." Merilyn whispered. The utter devastation in her voice pulled Caelys out of her thoughts.Caelys stared at Merilyn again. Could this be what the moon goddess meant by the fulfillment of the second prophecy? But she had no idea what the second prophecy was, or if it was even related to the powers Merilyn had."What exactly do you want me to help you with?" She asked. Merilyn had only told her what was happening but not how she wanted Caelys to help."I want to understand what's happening to me. Am I truly the reincarnation of Queen Raskia? Is that why I have her powers? If yes, then why are my memories blank?"Caelys sighed. "I'm sorry, but I don't have answers for you.""You could ask the moon goddess." Merilyn said, not missing a beat.Caelys stared at the Alph
KAIREN“Wh-where are you taking me?…” She drawled as her jelly legs made their way across the pavement. She reeked of alcohol and something sweet. Her scent has grown stronger in the last couple of minutes. “Ohhh, are we going to get laid?” she giggled, limply leaning on me as I held her up. “W
MERILYNThink carefully. Or I might kill you if I don’t like your answer.I jerked awake with a scream. My eyes darted around searching for the threat, looking for the three-headed monster that had hovered over me, threatening to kill me. My stomach churned, cramps squeezing the life out of my or
