LOGINCHAPTER FOUR:
Darcy's Pov
The wind whispers in my ear and cold chills spread all over me, a masculine scent clouded my senses with my face pressed on a hard but smooth surface, the scent of leather and spring yes... I felt safe, which was weird because the last time I remembered I was kidnapped.
I jerked as I woke up and I gasped. I was on top of a bike, my hand wrapped around the biker I had seen in the parking lot.
"What's going on?" I asked looking back to see if we were followed, but I saw nothing.
My senses were on alert as he took a turn toward my house.
"Who are you? And why did you help me?" I asked but nothing.
He didn't reply me.
I let go of him slightly brushing my hand on his thighs and he went still as stone.
"I don't know who you are but I appreciate your help, you can drop me here" I requested before he gets to my house.
To my surprise he stopped and parked at the side of the road, I dismounted from the bike and looked at him.
The helmet was still on his head concealing his identity and I was dying of curiosity as well as fright.
"You won't reply my questions? Why did they let me go?" I tried again but he only revved his engine as he prepared to go.
"Thank you," I said quickly and he nodded before he drove off.
A mute biker?
They usually work in gangs and they only engage when they are ordered to do something.
Why did he help me?
I looked around before I walked towards the house making sure the biker was finally gone, I opened the door and a blur of dark brown hair raced towards me.
I huffed, swallowing a groan as Xander hugged my legs, "Mummy! You are late!" He yelled and I giggled shutting the door behind me.
"Miss Callum" Jasmine smiled and I waved at her, I searched my bag and pulled out a couple of bills handing them over to her.
"I doubled it, thanks for staying and I'm sorry I'm late I got caught up in work" I lied effortlessly.
"It's alright you look exhausted, I made dinner so you don't have to worry about that" She replied and I heaved a sigh of relief.
"She made Mac and Cheese with meatballs, it's so good you should try it" Alexander chirped in, and Jasmine blushed at his compliment probably because it's the first time Xander even complimented her.
He is so blunt and strict sometimes and if he says her cooking is good then he must have been impressed.
I wonder if that's something he took from his father.
"Thank you Jasmine" I beamed at her and she waved off my appreciation taking her bag from the big couch.
We said our goodbyes and she left, I lifted Alexander in my arms ruffling his hair.
"How is my prince doing?" I tickled him and he laughed pushing my hands away while I led him upstairs.
"I'm fine, are you okay mummy?" He asked with a worried expression on his face, his blue-gray eyes staring deeply into mine.
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"You look pale and sweaty, you should take a shower" He suggested and I nodded, relieved that he hadn't noticed I was limping.
"Where is your car? I didn't hear you drive into the lawn" He voiced out as I opened the door to my room.
Shit.
I had forgotten about my car.
"Uh it's faulty, I had to get a cab don't worry I will get it fixed by tomorrow" I replied.
Lying is something I'm quite good at but it hurts me to lie to my son.
"Alright, did you forget the chips and ice cream?" He asked and I remembered I had dropped it at the parking lot.
And I had left a crime scene too.
Who will get rid of those bodies?
Were there cameras around the parking lot?
What was I thinking?
I shouldn't have acted impulsively, this could get me in the headlines tomorrow morning.
I need to go back there and check if...
"Mummy!" Xander's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, baby?"
"You weren't listening?" He asked.
"No I heard you, I forgot the chips and ice cream, I promise to get them next time we will settle for popcorn today" I replied and he stared at me as if he didn't get what I was saying.
"I wasn't talking about that, I said I saw someone today at school, he was so cool," He said and I nodded zoning out.
After taking a shower I felt better and went downstairs to meet Xander. He was looking for his favorite channel when I joined him and we shared popcorn enjoying the movie he settled for.
I let myself forget about what happened and relaxed.
If things go down we will move again.

"Why didn't you tell me you won't be coming today?" I groaned.
"I'm sorry something came up" Jasmine replied and I sighed.
She won't be coming today which means Xander is coming with me to the bar today. I hate taking him there, he is always running around asking questions like the curious kid he is.
He was ecstatic when I informed him, I had gone back to the parking lot at the convenience store this morning and my car was there, the bodies were gone.
Not that I was surprised, the others must have cleared it up. I just hope they don't come for me again.
We got to the bar and I went straight to the office taking Alexander with me, "You stay here and play with your toys or coloring books" I ordered and he pouted.
"I don't want to be alone" He whined and I sighed.
"It's ten o'clock Alexander Callum, the bar gets crowded and loud. You don't want to be out there" I remarked.
"But I didn't bring my toys, I only brought the coloring book but I forgot my color pencils" He grumbled.
"Alright I will get a marker for you from the counter just wait here and don't come out" I warned and left the office with the coloring book.
I entered the bartending booth and greeted the bartenders serving the customers. I squatted and opened the bottom drawers where they kept the attendance roll. I saw two color markers and collected them.
"Are those for the little boss?" Hazel asked as I stood up and I nodded.
My eyes strayed behind her as the door opened, a tall man walked in clad in black, he wore a black short-sleeved shirt exposing his huge inked biceps, his shirt clung to his muscles clung to his shirt and I swallowed a hard lump in my throat.
Those weren't the reason why I was staring, it's the helmet on his head, he wore black gloves matching his black on black outfit.
That helmet was familiar.
The biker from last night.
He removed the helmet from his head and my breath hitched.
Oh my world.
He is stunning.
Chocolate brown hair, blue-gray eyes and a perfect straight nose with a sharp chiseled jawline with hollow cheekbones
He was handsome in a majestic way, even the way he walked screamed control.
He looked around like he was looking for someone and then his eyes met mine, I froze.
"He came"
I shuddered, breaking eye contact with him, and diverting my attention towards Hazel.
"What?" I asked.
"That's the guy, the one who sent the drink your way, he is coming here" She whispered and walked away before I could reply, and true to her words he sat in front of me.
His cologne engulfed me, reminding me of last night and I kept my gaze down taking the coloring book.
I should leave now.
"Is that a coloring book?" A smoky baritone voice asked and my eyes widened.
There was something familiar about his voice that I couldn't pinpoint, I lifted my gaze and he raised one dark brow, his eyes on the book in my hand.
Right. I have to talk to him, he saw me kill someone.
"Yes, it's for my son" I replied hoping that would chase him off.
"Really? You don't look like a mother, I mean you didn't look like one last night" He said and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
Is he here to blackmail me?
I gulped and looked around the bar, everyone was lost in their own world and my bartenders moved to the other side of the counter attending to customers.
I sighed and turned to the bastard.
"What do you want? Money?" I asked and his lips stretched into a sinister smirk making him look more gorgeous.
"Is that an insult? What will I do with your money?" He asked, his voice laced with amusement.
"Then what do you want?" I snapped.
"I'm just trying to help you, those people you had a little dispute with last night are going to burst through that door in fifteen minutes and kill everyone here. I wanted to let you know and also help you escape because you are the target" He replied and my jaw dropped.
Xander.
I need to get out of here.
"How did you know this?" I asked and he waved off dismissing my question.
"I also got in trouble for helping you escape last night, I guess I'm also on the Sleeping Serpents radar, you have thirteen minutes left" He informed.
I won't panic, he could be lying for all I know.
He turned to look at the door and my eyes caught the little black mole behind his right ear, my heart skipped a beat.
It must be a coincidence, right?
No, I don't believe in coincidences.
"Who are you?" I asked and diverted his attention back to me.
"Someone who wants to help you, if you value your life and your son's you should get moving now and meet me in the parking lot. Unless you want to die?" He tilted his head like he did at the convenience store parking lot last night.
I look at the door then back at him.
"The clock is ticking, Darcy"
Chapter 225Darcy's POV “I'll wait for him to return because he's going to get me a better meal than this cereal you're giving to me.”“So you're saying that me giving you this is a wrong thing?”“It was right at first, but now my father has promised me he'll get me a meal that I want, so why don't you keep this cereal or eat it yourself?” I almost raised my hand to slap him when I heard loud voices coming from the living room. I dashed outside, while Alexander followed me. Not only that, but I rushed down the stairs to see Frederic and numerous men standing in the living room. Before I could move, I realized that I was already surrounded. “What do you want, Frederic?”“I'm here to take you to your parents. They want to see you, and when they do, they'll sign the deal and give me what I want. This isn't a partnership anymore; it's you in exchange for a hundred million dollars.” Frederic divulged, wearing a smile on his face, that he was holding a bottle of whiskey he must have tak
Chapter 224Seth's POV“Who's the father of Alexander?”“I don't know who he is, and I wouldn't want to know because he's not even meant to be in our lives. He doesn't even remember me; besides, we were wearing masks that night, so it's not his fault or mine.” She replied as she trailed her fingers on my chest. I wondered why I feared telling her that Alexander was my son. I have the DNA results with me; showing them to her would prove to her that Alexander is indeed my son. “So you don't want to know who Alexander's father is?”“Yes, why would I want to do that? What if he's someone that can't even be with? I'm in love with you, so it's better off that way, and you're good with Alexander; I wouldn't want to mess that up.” “There's no harm in letting him know who his father is even if you don't want him in your life.” I argued with her words as she stared into my eyes. “Do you want to lose me to another man? What if he's a violent type? What if he wants me by force? I'm in love wi
Chapter 223Seth's POVSeth went out of the house, heading straight to the bar because he wanted to speak to my father. He was hell bent on making his father understand Darcy's off-limits; they're now my family. Not collateral for a deal. He strolled into the bar and went straight to his office, then he heard Scarlet's voice, pleading. “I never meant to hurt her. I just wanted to take him away so she'd be forced to do your bidding or lose her son.” It dawned on him that Scarlet was the one that sent those hoodlums to attack Alexander at the eatery. “How did she know I was at the eatery? Did she put a tracker on the car?” He asked himself before storming into his father's office as Scarlet got up to her feet, acting like she wasn't begging. “What are you doing here, Seth? You decided to follow me here!”“Why would I do that? I know that you're the one responsible for the attack at the eatery. I'm not going to kill you, but you know better than to come back to the house where I liv
Chapter 222Author's POV Darcy's mind was unsettled as she realized that Frederic was going to use her as bait to get her father to agree to the deal. “You can't let your father win!”“You can leave the house Darcy, I know who my father is. He's a sociopath and if you leave the house he's going to have you killed. I need to find a way around this before you make any moves.” Seth was about to say another word but got stopped by Darcy's right hand to his left cheeks; it was a resounding slap. “You are trying to defend your father and make it seem like what he's doing is right, trust me it's not working and I don't want to be a part of this whole mess.”“Darcy you're not leaving this house, trust me I wouldn't let you leave. I don't want to be forced to make you stay, don't test me Darcy.” Seth threatened as he held her back but she pushed his hand off her and picked Alexander up. “Mom, I don't want to die. Please let's not do this, we can…” “Shut up Alexander.”“Guards!!!” Seth cal
Chapter 221Author's POV Frederic went back to Matteo's house, accompanied by Perez. When they arrived, it was way past noon. At that time, Matteo was back on his feet, acting like nothing happened, but he remembers how Fredric helped him out of the press scandal. “Matteo, it's a pleasure to see you standing on your feet.”“What do you want, Fredric? I thought we were over this. There's nothing going to make me agree to that deal.” Matteo retorts as Frederic heaves a deep sigh. “Please let me know what you want. What do you desire, and I'll grant it to you, and then you give me what I want. I can't beg you. It's transactional, so please let me know what your desire is. Do you want someone dead?”“Why would I want someone dead? I have enough men to handle that.” Matteo retorts, wondering if Frederic could find his daughter and bring her to him. “Come on, Matteo. There's one thing that you want that I'm certain I can provide; it's not a big deal.”“Alright then.”“You don't have to
Chapter 220Darcy's POV I was sitting in the living room when Alexander mentioned my name and embraced me with blood stained clothes. “What is this!!” I was stunned thinking that it was his blood until I saw Seth, I was overwhelmed wondering what would have transpired that had this amount of blood on his clothes and his face. He dropped four packs of burger and four cans on the dining table, so I approached him with a question. “Care to explain who's blood is that?”“Is not mine.” I felt relieved when he said those words because I wasn't ready to start stitching wounds. “What happened?”“Some hooligans that call themselves the Reachers, tried to hurt Alexander but I couldn't let that happen.”“Mum, he saved me.” Alexander conceded to Seth's words as I watched him walk slowly. “We need to get you to your bedroom and have you cleaned up.” Scarlet uttered as she was about to touch Seth's hand when he quickly removed his hand. “I can handle myself and even if I can't, you'd be the
