CHAPTER FOUR:

                       Darcy's Pov

The wind whispers in my ear and cold chills spread all over me, a masculine scent clouded my senses with my face pressed on a hard but smooth surface, the scent of leather and spring yes... I felt safe, which was weird because the last time I remembered I was kidnapped.

I jerked as I woke up and I gasped. I was on top of a bike, my hand wrapped around the biker I had seen in the parking lot.

"What's going on?" I asked looking back to see if we were followed, but I saw nothing.

My senses were on alert as he took a turn toward my house.

"Who are you? And why did you help me?" I asked but nothing.

He didn't reply me.

I let go of him slightly brushing my hand on his thighs and he went still as stone.

"I don't know who you are but I appreciate your help, you can drop me here" I requested before he gets to my house.

To my surprise he stopped and parked at the side of the road, I dismounted from the bike and looked at him.

The helmet was still on his head concealing his identity and I was dying of curiosity as well as fright.

"You won't reply my questions? Why did they let me go?" I tried again but he only revved his engine as he prepared to go.

"Thank you," I said quickly and he nodded before he drove off.

A mute biker?

They usually work in gangs and they only engage when they are ordered to do something.

Why did he help me?

I looked around before I walked towards the house making sure the biker was finally gone, I opened the door and a blur of dark brown hair raced towards me.

I huffed, swallowing a groan as Xander hugged my legs, "Mummy! You are late!" He yelled and I giggled shutting the door behind me.

"Miss Callum" Jasmine smiled and I waved at her, I searched my bag and pulled out a couple of bills handing them over to her.

"I doubled it, thanks for staying and I'm sorry I'm late I got caught up in work" I lied effortlessly.

"It's alright you look exhausted, I made dinner so you don't have to worry about that" She replied and I heaved a sigh of relief.

"She made Mac and Cheese with meatballs, it's so good you should try it" Alexander chirped in, and Jasmine blushed at his compliment probably because it's the first time Xander even complimented her.

He is so blunt and strict sometimes and if he says her cooking is good then he must have been impressed.

I wonder if that's something he took from his father.

"Thank you Jasmine" I beamed at her and she waved off my appreciation taking her bag from the big couch.

We said our goodbyes and she left, I lifted Alexander in my arms ruffling his hair.

"How is my prince doing?" I tickled him and he laughed pushing my hands away while I led him upstairs.

"I'm fine, are you okay mummy?" He asked with a worried expression on his face, his blue-gray eyes staring deeply into mine.

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"You look pale and sweaty, you should take a shower" He suggested and I nodded, relieved that he hadn't noticed I was limping.

"Where is your car? I didn't hear you drive into the lawn" He voiced out as I opened the door to my room.

Shit.

I had forgotten about my car.

"Uh it's faulty, I had to get a cab don't worry I will get it fixed by tomorrow" I replied.

Lying is something I'm quite good at but it hurts me to lie to my son.

"Alright, did you forget the chips and ice cream?" He asked and I remembered I had dropped it at the parking lot.

And I had left a crime scene too.

Who will get rid of those bodies?

Were there cameras around the parking lot?

What was I thinking?

I shouldn't have acted impulsively, this could get me in the headlines tomorrow morning.

I need to go back there and check if...

"Mummy!" Xander's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Yes, baby?"

"You weren't listening?" He asked.

"No I heard you, I forgot the chips and ice cream, I promise to get them next time we will settle for popcorn today" I replied and he stared at me as if he didn't get what I was saying.

"I wasn't talking about that, I said I saw someone today at school, he was so cool," He said and I nodded zoning out.

After taking a shower I felt better and went downstairs to meet Xander. He was looking for his favorite channel when I joined him and we shared popcorn enjoying the movie he settled for.

I let myself forget about what happened and relaxed.

If things go down we will move again.

****

"Why didn't you tell me you won't be coming today?" I groaned.

"I'm sorry something came up" Jasmine replied and I sighed.

She won't be coming today which means Xander is coming with me to the bar today. I hate taking him there, he is always running around asking questions like the curious kid he is.

He was ecstatic when I informed him, I had gone back to the parking lot at the convenience store this morning and my car was there, the bodies were gone.

Not that I was surprised, the others must have cleared it up. I just hope they don't come for me again.

We got to the bar and I went straight to the office taking Alexander with me, "You stay here and play with your toys or coloring books" I ordered and he pouted.

"I don't want to be alone" He whined and I sighed.

"It's ten o'clock Alexander Callum, the bar gets crowded and loud. You don't want to be out there" I remarked.

"But I didn't bring my toys, I only brought the coloring book but I forgot my color pencils" He grumbled.

"Alright I will get a marker for you from the counter just wait here and don't come out" I warned and left the office with the coloring book.

I entered the bartending booth and greeted the bartenders serving the customers. I squatted and opened the bottom drawers where they kept the attendance roll. I saw two color markers and collected them.

"Are those for the little boss?" Hazel asked as I stood up and I nodded.

My eyes strayed behind her as the door opened, a tall man walked in clad in black, he wore a black short-sleeved shirt exposing his huge inked biceps, his shirt clung to his muscles clung to his shirt and I swallowed a hard lump in my throat.

Those weren't the reason why I was staring, it's the helmet on his head, he wore black gloves matching his black on black outfit.

That helmet was familiar.

The biker from last night.

He removed the helmet from his head and my breath hitched.

Oh my world.

He is stunning.

Chocolate brown hair, blue-gray eyes and a perfect straight nose with a sharp chiseled jawline with hollow cheekbones

He was handsome in a majestic way, even the way he walked screamed control.

He looked around like he was looking for someone and then his eyes met mine, I froze.

"He came"

I shuddered, breaking eye contact with him, and diverting my attention towards Hazel.

"What?" I asked.

"That's the guy, the one who sent the drink your way, he is coming here" She whispered and walked away before I could reply, and true to her words he sat in front of me.

His cologne engulfed me, reminding me of last night and I kept my gaze down taking the coloring book.

I should leave now.

"Is that a coloring book?" A smoky baritone voice asked and my eyes widened.

There was something familiar about his voice that I couldn't pinpoint, I lifted my gaze and he raised one dark brow, his eyes on the book in my hand.

Right. I have to talk to him, he saw me kill someone.

"Yes, it's for my son" I replied hoping that would chase him off.

"Really? You don't look like a mother, I mean you didn't look like one last night" He said and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Is he here to blackmail me?

I gulped and looked around the bar, everyone was lost in their own world and my bartenders moved to the other side of the counter attending to customers.

I sighed and turned to the bastard.

"What do you want? Money?" I asked and his lips stretched into a sinister smirk making him look more gorgeous.

"Is that an insult? What will I do with your money?" He asked, his voice laced with amusement.

"Then what do you want?" I snapped.

"I'm just trying to help you, those people you had a little dispute with last night are going to burst through that door in fifteen minutes and kill everyone here. I wanted to let you know and also help you escape because you are the target" He replied and my jaw dropped.

Xander.

I need to get out of here.

"How did you know this?" I asked and he waved off dismissing my question.

"I also got in trouble for helping you escape last night, I guess I'm also on the Sleeping Serpents radar, you have thirteen minutes left" He informed.

I won't panic, he could be lying for all I know.

He turned to look at the door and my eyes caught the little black mole behind his right ear, my heart skipped a beat.

It must be a coincidence, right?

No, I don't believe in coincidences.

"Who are you?" I asked and diverted his attention back to me.

"Someone who wants to help you, if you value your life and your son's you should get moving now and meet me in the parking lot. Unless you want to die?" He tilted his head like he did at the convenience store parking lot last night.

I look at the door then back at him.

"The clock is ticking, Darcy"

He stared at the account balance in shock, he knew that he's never made this type of amount before. He was looking at the records and everything to see if he had any loose ends. “Now this is what we call a success.” Frederic wore a smile on his face because he knew why he was doing all this. He paid everyone aside his gang members and was left with over ten million dollars. “All thanks to Seth, he gave you the tips that you needed for a successful job.” Carlos never failed to show Frederic that Seth was the reason he had successful deliveries. “If he was here I would have kissed him but I can't. Although I'm sending his share to his account.”“There's no need to do that. He personally asked me to collect his share and keep it with me until he returns.” Carlos suggested because he knew that over a million dollar wire transfer migh

Frederic helped Carlos walk down to the car, before opening the door they both listened to someone whistle. “Carlos take this.” M

Carrillo knew that Jason was good behind the wheel, but he wanted to see how good he was.Jason's car had everyone's attention because it had been a while since they saw anyone in a BMW. Jason realized that all the cars at the event were upgraded and tuned but he wasn't moved by it. He wore a mask and a hoodie so no one was able to recognize him. “Your car is still a virgin Carrillo.”“Yes, it is, Mario. Sadly, it's not mine, it belongs to my boss.” Carrillo shook hands with Mario as everyone was happy to see Carrillo, knowing that it had been a while since he raced. “It can't measure up to mine. I have enough nitro to take me around the block, so basically I'll be flying and you won't even see my lights.” Mario challenged Jason. “So yo

He want her to be a bargaining chip and Matteo would have no choice because he wants his daughter. “I'll be heading out to see your father, wish me luck.” Seth divulged wearing a smile on his face. “I don't want to talk about him .” Darcy hissed between her teeth, hating that Seth mentioned her father. “I hate my parents so much that I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for what they did to me.” She said to herself as Alexander asked,“Is he going out to see grandpa?”“Yeah.” Seth replied not looking at Darcy to see her telling him not to. “So let me go with you. I want to see grandpa.” Alexander dashed out of the room, after standing for a while behind the door. “Wouldn't be a bad idea…”“Don't even think a

I have to talk with him and make sure we're on the right track.” Frederic wore a smile on his face as he stared at Carlos. Carlos drove him to Miguel's territory. Ok his arrival, Miguel asked himself;“What's he doing here? I hope he's not here to negotiate his deal because I'm not going to give anyone anything aside from what I'll be giving him.” “Well, what brings you to my abode?” He opened his arms, holding out his gun in his hand. Someone's trying to infiltrate us. Your son is receiving threats as well and that might affect his mission. I don't know what you'd have me do, I had to bring everyone on board by putting him out as a snitch. Everyone hates snitches.” Carlos explained his actions in a way that Frederic would understand. “Fine Carlos now that we've let him go. We don't know who that is.” “Let me take this call, it's Seth.” Carlos divulged, Frederic didn't pay attention to the words Carlos said because he was speaking in low voices. “What's next now that you're done?”“I'm going to meet an old friend.
