CHAPTER FOUR:

                       Darcy's Pov

The wind whispers in my ear and cold chills spread all over me, a masculine scent clouded my senses with my face pressed on a hard but smooth surface, the scent of leather and spring yes... I felt safe, which was weird because the last time I remembered I was kidnapped.

I jerked as I woke up and I gasped. I was on top of a bike, my hand wrapped around the biker I had seen in the parking lot.

"What's going on?" I asked looking back to see if we were followed, but I saw nothing.

My senses were on alert as he took a turn toward my house.

"Who are you? And why did you help me?" I asked but nothing.

He didn't reply me.

I let go of him slightly brushing my hand on his thighs and he went still as stone.

"I don't know who you are but I appreciate your help, you can drop me here" I requested before he gets to my house.

To my surprise he stopped and parked at the side of the road, I dismounted from the bike and looked at him.

The helmet was still on his head concealing his identity and I was dying of curiosity as well as fright.

"You won't reply my questions? Why did they let me go?" I tried again but he only revved his engine as he prepared to go.

"Thank you," I said quickly and he nodded before he drove off.

A mute biker?

They usually work in gangs and they only engage when they are ordered to do something.

Why did he help me?

I looked around before I walked towards the house making sure the biker was finally gone, I opened the door and a blur of dark brown hair raced towards me.

I huffed, swallowing a groan as Xander hugged my legs, "Mummy! You are late!" He yelled and I giggled shutting the door behind me.

"Miss Callum" Jasmine smiled and I waved at her, I searched my bag and pulled out a couple of bills handing them over to her.

"I doubled it, thanks for staying and I'm sorry I'm late I got caught up in work" I lied effortlessly.

"It's alright you look exhausted, I made dinner so you don't have to worry about that" She replied and I heaved a sigh of relief.

"She made Mac and Cheese with meatballs, it's so good you should try it" Alexander chirped in, and Jasmine blushed at his compliment probably because it's the first time Xander even complimented her.

He is so blunt and strict sometimes and if he says her cooking is good then he must have been impressed.

I wonder if that's something he took from his father.

"Thank you Jasmine" I beamed at her and she waved off my appreciation taking her bag from the big couch.

We said our goodbyes and she left, I lifted Alexander in my arms ruffling his hair.

"How is my prince doing?" I tickled him and he laughed pushing my hands away while I led him upstairs.

"I'm fine, are you okay mummy?" He asked with a worried expression on his face, his blue-gray eyes staring deeply into mine.

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"You look pale and sweaty, you should take a shower" He suggested and I nodded, relieved that he hadn't noticed I was limping.

"Where is your car? I didn't hear you drive into the lawn" He voiced out as I opened the door to my room.

Shit.

I had forgotten about my car.

"Uh it's faulty, I had to get a cab don't worry I will get it fixed by tomorrow" I replied.

Lying is something I'm quite good at but it hurts me to lie to my son.

"Alright, did you forget the chips and ice cream?" He asked and I remembered I had dropped it at the parking lot.

And I had left a crime scene too.

Who will get rid of those bodies?

Were there cameras around the parking lot?

What was I thinking?

I shouldn't have acted impulsively, this could get me in the headlines tomorrow morning.

I need to go back there and check if...

"Mummy!" Xander's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Yes, baby?"

"You weren't listening?" He asked.

"No I heard you, I forgot the chips and ice cream, I promise to get them next time we will settle for popcorn today" I replied and he stared at me as if he didn't get what I was saying.

"I wasn't talking about that, I said I saw someone today at school, he was so cool," He said and I nodded zoning out.

After taking a shower I felt better and went downstairs to meet Xander. He was looking for his favorite channel when I joined him and we shared popcorn enjoying the movie he settled for.

I let myself forget about what happened and relaxed.

If things go down we will move again.

"Why didn't you tell me you won't be coming today?" I groaned.

"I'm sorry something came up" Jasmine replied and I sighed.

She won't be coming today which means Xander is coming with me to the bar today. I hate taking him there, he is always running around asking questions like the curious kid he is.

He was ecstatic when I informed him, I had gone back to the parking lot at the convenience store this morning and my car was there, the bodies were gone.

Not that I was surprised, the others must have cleared it up. I just hope they don't come for me again.

We got to the bar and I went straight to the office taking Alexander with me, "You stay here and play with your toys or coloring books" I ordered and he pouted.

"I don't want to be alone" He whined and I sighed.

"It's ten o'clock Alexander Callum, the bar gets crowded and loud. You don't want to be out there" I remarked.

"But I didn't bring my toys, I only brought the coloring book but I forgot my color pencils" He grumbled.

"Alright I will get a marker for you from the counter just wait here and don't come out" I warned and left the office with the coloring book.

I entered the bartending booth and greeted the bartenders serving the customers. I squatted and opened the bottom drawers where they kept the attendance roll. I saw two color markers and collected them.

"Are those for the little boss?" Hazel asked as I stood up and I nodded.

My eyes strayed behind her as the door opened, a tall man walked in clad in black, he wore a black short-sleeved shirt exposing his huge inked biceps, his shirt clung to his muscles clung to his shirt and I swallowed a hard lump in my throat.

Those weren't the reason why I was staring, it's the helmet on his head, he wore black gloves matching his black on black outfit.

That helmet was familiar.

The biker from last night.

He removed the helmet from his head and my breath hitched.

Oh my world.

He is stunning.

Chocolate brown hair, blue-gray eyes and a perfect straight nose with a sharp chiseled jawline with hollow cheekbones

He was handsome in a majestic way, even the way he walked screamed control.

He looked around like he was looking for someone and then his eyes met mine, I froze.

"He came"

I shuddered, breaking eye contact with him, and diverting my attention towards Hazel.

"What?" I asked.

"That's the guy, the one who sent the drink your way, he is coming here" She whispered and walked away before I could reply, and true to her words he sat in front of me.

His cologne engulfed me, reminding me of last night and I kept my gaze down taking the coloring book.

I should leave now.

"Is that a coloring book?" A smoky baritone voice asked and my eyes widened.

There was something familiar about his voice that I couldn't pinpoint, I lifted my gaze and he raised one dark brow, his eyes on the book in my hand.

Right. I have to talk to him, he saw me kill someone.

"Yes, it's for my son" I replied hoping that would chase him off.

"Really? You don't look like a mother, I mean you didn't look like one last night" He said and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Is he here to blackmail me?

I gulped and looked around the bar, everyone was lost in their own world and my bartenders moved to the other side of the counter attending to customers.

I sighed and turned to the bastard.

"What do you want? Money?" I asked and his lips stretched into a sinister smirk making him look more gorgeous.

"Is that an insult? What will I do with your money?" He asked, his voice laced with amusement.

"Then what do you want?" I snapped.

"I'm just trying to help you, those people you had a little dispute with last night are going to burst through that door in fifteen minutes and kill everyone here. I wanted to let you know and also help you escape because you are the target" He replied and my jaw dropped.

Xander.

I need to get out of here.

"How did you know this?" I asked and he waved off dismissing my question.

"I also got in trouble for helping you escape last night, I guess I'm also on the Sleeping Serpents radar, you have thirteen minutes left" He informed.

I won't panic, he could be lying for all I know.

He turned to look at the door and my eyes caught the little black mole behind his right ear, my heart skipped a beat.

It must be a coincidence, right?

No, I don't believe in coincidences.

"Who are you?" I asked and diverted his attention back to me.

"Someone who wants to help you, if you value your life and your son's you should get moving now and meet me in the parking lot. Unless you want to die?" He tilted his head like he did at the convenience store parking lot last night.

I look at the door then back at him.

"The clock is ticking, Darcy"

CHAPTER FIVE: Seth's Pov Her eyes widened for the third time now as she heard me call her fake name, her pretty red lips parted in shock then shut again. "If I find out you are lying to me, I will kill you" She threatened and walked away. I smirked watching her talk to her employees, probably telling them to evacuate the bar. She hasn't changed a bit. That pretty copper hair tied up in a ponytail, her curvy body still exquisite as I remembered. She doesn't remember me though, not that I expected her to, it would complicate things for me. I was supposed to take her a few weeks ago, after stalking her in the shadows for a month now I found myself changing the plan. I didn't want to rush things, I wanted her to follow me willingly and I'm thankful I finally got what I wanted. Father would be pleased. But there is one problem though, she has a son. When did that happen? Was that why she ran away? My jaw clenched as I imagined her with another man. The thou

CHAPTER THREE: Darcy's Pov They didn't see me coming and that was okay, I yanked the one punching Shawn back with force, he raised his blood-coated fist to do the same with me but he hesitated and that was enough for me to twist his wrist until I heard a crack then I flipped him over my shoulder. He cried out in pain but I ignored him glaring at the rest who looked confused. "What the fuck is this about?" I demanded angrily. The bar was almost empty now and it made me pissed because my bar is famous around here because it's peaceful. We have never experienced this kind of violence before. "This jerk stole his woman" One of them with a tatted baldhead replied and they dropped Shawn who landed on the ground with a heavy thud as they turned towards me. I'm outnumbered, it's five of them, one currently nursing his broken wrist and the rest in front of me. The one with the gun hanging on his belt moved forward and eyed me and I did the same with him. It was e

CHAPTER TWO Darcy's Pov To say I was on high alert was an understatement, every minute someone walked through that door my head snapped in the direction and I'm sure few of my bartenders have noticed but kept their mouth shut. Why did this have to happen now? I was just settling in and it's been years since I moved. Alexander was three when we came to this town and he is not a fan of moving around either. What will happen to my bar? Everything I have worked hard to build. I won't give up. I will fight and if it means going back to my old self then so be it. "Ma'am?" I diverted my attention from the door towards Hazel as she hovered in front of where I was sitting, "What? Anything?" I asked, referring to what we discussed two days ago. I told her to inform me if this stranger shows up again but it's been two days and he is nowhere to be found. Did I make a mistake? "Nothing, I think he is a tourist just looking for a good time, and maybe wanted to have

CHAPTER ONE: Darcy's Pov "You don't have to be a dickhead all the time Shawn" I glared and his laughter rang out as he served the customer he was flirting with before I intervened. The blonde didn't seem like she was against his mindless flirting. If anything she looked like she would be willing to follow him home tonight, I shook my head diverting my attention from the scene and focusing on my task. My bar was everything to me, it wasn't fancy but it was everything I had ever wanted and dreamed of. I have always wanted to own something I can call my own, something I built from scratch. That wasn't given to me by anyone. A distant memory buried deep inside stirred and I struggled to school my expression as I stared at the glass of whiskey placed in front of me. I lifted my gaze and found Hazel, one of my employees, wink at me as she sauntered off with an empty tray. I had known what that meant, someone had bought me a drink but wanted to stay anonymous.
