LOGINCHAPTER THREE
SEBASTIAN
"A divorce?" I repeated her words slowly, as if that would change it somehow.
My gaze landed on the woman lying on the bed, staring at me with a fierce look in her eyes.
This woman Sophia.....what was her deal? Despite the obvious fear on her face, I could sense her innate stubbornness, and her refusal to back down.
She wanted to divorce me? Pulling my eyes away from her face, I chuckled coldly, did she think this was a game?
"Yes, you obviously don't want this marriage, and frankly, I don't either. So we should get a divorce," she presented a false façade of calmness as she said this, but the rise and fall of her chest exposed that she was more scared than she would admit.
"Do you think that you get to make the choice here? When your grandfather sent you here, did he inform you that there would be any grounds for a divorce?" I asked her coldly.
Marco had gone through to such lengths just to get me to marry his granddaughter.
Obviously, a divorce was not something that was on his radar when he made those plans.
She lifted her chin, meeting my gaze with confidence in her eyes. The scared woman I had seen standing at the altar waiting for me had been replaced by this person who looked like she was not going to back down at all.
She was also different from the investigation reports I had gotten on her.
The reports stated that she was an arrogant woman, a spoiled princess who believed the world revolved around her, but the woman in front of me was far different from that.
What was her real personality? Or was Sophia so used to changing personalities?
"My grandfather has nothing to do with this. I have no idea what kind of deal you have with him, but we both should not suffer because of it. We can get a divorce, and pretend this never happened, " she said to me.
I watched her closely, and I could see how desperate she looked.
Sophia really wanted to divorce me.
However...was I just going to give her what she wanted?
My eyes fell on her exposed legs, although the rest of her body was well hidden under the covers, I could still see her long, fair legs.
My throat went dry, and suddenly, the room felt small.
The image of her standing completely naked in front of me flashed in my head once again, and I swallowed hard.
Sophia was a beautiful woman, and it was just too bad that she was the granddaughter of Marco Vale. Otherwise...
She suddenly stood up,with the bedsheets still wrapped around her body firmly.
The large sheets covered her legs as she took a few steps over to me, but then, the top of her chest was exposed.
Sophia had a patronizing smile on her face, "I think this will be a win-win situation for us, you obviously don't want me, and I don't want you either...."
She reached out a hand to me, but I grabbed it before she could touch me.
"Heh, if I didn't know any better, I'd actually fall for your tricks! Tell Marco that I am prepared for whatever he's plotting!" I snapped at her.
Heat flowed through me, down to the lower part of my body, and I sucked in a deep breath.
Sophia's fair and soft body was still in my line of sight, and it affected me way more than I was willing to admit.
It dawned on me what Sophia was trying to do, of course, as Marco's granddaughter, she was just as scheming as he was.
Her true nature would never change!
Pushing her away from me once again, I managed to pull myself from the spell that she had cast on me.
Sophia fell to the ground with a large thud, and I instinctively reached out a hand to help her up.
However, Sophia's face went red immediately as her eyes fell on the bulge in my pants.
She pointed at it, with a panicked look on her face.
"That...."
"Damn it!" I cursed and turned, almost running out of my own damn bedroom.
Sophia was not an ordinary woman, she was affecting me in ways I did not want to admit at all!
......
I walked out of the bathroom, my hair still wet from the cold shower that I had taken.
A frown was on my face when I saw James sitting on the couch, waiting for me.
"Why did you take a shower here, boss?" He asked, his gaze carrying a hint of suspicion towards me.
"The bathroom in the bedroom was occupied," I lied, not wanting to admit that I had left because I couldn't stand Sophia's tempting presence, or that I had given in to temptations I did not care to admit to.
"I heard that a woman has been living there for the past two weeks. What do you plan to do with her?"
His gaze was questioning, as he waited for my response.
"I don't think I need to explain my relationship with my wife to you, right?" I asked him, my irritation rising.
He was my father's trusted aide when he was alive, and I only tolerated James' presence for that reason.
"Of course not, boss! I was just curious...she's Marco's granddaughter, after all," he reminded me.
As soon as those words were out of his mouth, I realized that I had overreacted.
Damn it, she was Marco's granddaughter, a wife married to me all because of benefits.
"He gave up the shipping routes for her, of course, I couldn't reject such a good deal," I said, with my eyes closed.
I grinned in satisfaction as my mind wandered to the divorce she had initiated.
It didn't matter if she was serious or not, however, until my goals were achieved, a divorce was simply not possible!
"Although she's Marco's granddaughter, she's also a very beautiful woman, I heard that she had a lot of suitors back in Asheville and..."
My eyes snapped open as James started to talk about Sophia again.
"You didn't come here just to chat about my wife right?" I demanded to know.
My fists clenched tightly by my sides, as I realized that once again, the mention of Sophia's name had made me lose my cool.
With a swift shake of his head, he changed the topic.
"The last batch of goods were intercepted by Damien. A few of our men have been captured by him," James informed me.
"What the fuck?! How could you let that happen?!”
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY LIRAA smile graced my face as I steadily approached Maya. I was not surprised that she was the one meeting with me, in fact, I was looking forward to meeting Maya. After all, my so called friend had managed to make a name for herself in the design world these past five years. Although she was fast declining, she had made use of my name enough, and I was ready to take everything back! After five years, both my daughter and I had survived, and now, everyone who had ever hurt and used me was going to pay! "Hello, are you Maya? I am Fiona," I stretched out a hand to Maya, a perfect smile on my face. Maya raised her head to look at me, and her mouth fell wide open when she saw my face. She hurried up from the chair she was sitting on, and instead of taking my hand, she stared at my face with her mouth wide open. Touching my face gently, I pretended as if I didn't know why she was staring at me so openly. "Is there something on my face?" I asked, as I to
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE MAYAThese designs....they were like Lita's designs that I had seen in the past. Could it be that ...my fingers were shaking now, and my heart was pounding fast. They weren't many of Lira's designs produced, since she only worked for Damien's company for a short period of time before she resigned. However, she was once my friend, and she had been interested in designs since we were in college. I had seen a lot of the designs that she made for fun, and even though they were not identical to the designs I was currently looking at, there was just something about them that seemed so damn familiar! Could it be that Lira was ...alive? My heart skipped a beat at this thought. For the past five years, I never worried about Lira because I was convinced she was dead, but what if that was not the case? What it she really survived, somehow? After all, a body was never found...."What do you think, director Maya? Do you think that we should proceed with this
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT MAYA"Good morning Maya!""Good morning director" So many people greeted me as I made my way into the company. A smile rested on my face, taking it all of their greetings and flattering words. No matter how long I sat on the position of director of design, and no matter how long it had been since I gained my new status, I could never get tired of people being so polite and flattering to me. In the past, I used to be the one that people looked down on , no one dared to take me seriously at all In fact, I was trampled upon and mocked, but that had since changed. It all began five years ago, when that woman had come to me and told me to stop Damien from going to look for Lira no matter what. At first, I had no idea what was going on. But deep down, I wanted all of the things that Lira had. A man who loved her, a respectable identity, a great career, I was greedy for those things, and so I took the gamble five years ago. So, I faked an accident. W
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVENSEBASTIAN "We have news of Sophia again. It seemed that she had offended some powerful people in Italy and she had to lay low for the past two years. She has been living in a small Europe country and she finally moved to Paris a few days ago. It seems that the people she offended no longer care about her and Sophia is back to doing whatever she wants," Dante replied shortly. "Ha," a short laugh escaped my lips when I heard this. "It seems that Sophia is having the time of her life," I noted, as my lips curled up in a sarcastic smirk. "In the past five years, she has not suffered the consequences of her actions at all. She continued to live ostentatiously, causing trouble whenever she wants and having Marco clean up after her. Meanwhile, Lira is still missing and we haven't had any news of her till now. Don't you think it's a bit unfair?" I asked Dante. Dante did not show any emotions on his face, and I actually had no idea what he was thinking. Fo
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX LIRA"She would be ashamed to admit that you're her granddaughter!" Those words hit me like a sledge hammer, and I couldn't help but feel like someone was digging out my chest. "What do you know?!"I screamed back at the man, my eyes shifty as I tried to focus on him. Although my eyesight was still blurry, if I tried hard enough, I was able to make out the image of the person who was in front of me "You know nothing about me, you know nothing about the things that I've been through. How dare you say that my mother would be ashamed of me?" I snapped at him. He was acting as if he knew everything, did he really think that I would acknowledge him and let him speak to me however he wanted just because he claimed he was my grandfather? What the heck! "Heh, I admit that I don't know you. I never got the chance to know you and that's all my fault. However, I know your mother well. And I know that Leona would never have thrown her life away like this all
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE LIRAI was surrounded by endless bodies of water...no matter how hard I tried to swim, it was all impossible. I couldn't fight against the raging waves, and it seemed as if the water was going to tear me apart. So many memories flashed in my mind, and I kept seeing my grandmother's sad face as she took her last breath. I couldn't even cry, I just felt as if the water was going to cover me and suffocate me at some point. Soon, I realised that I was no longer in the water. Somehow, I had managed to get out. Instead, I was now walking down a hallway, with the walls painted white. There was a white door in front of me, and I found myself longing for the door I reached out my hand to open it once I was close enough, but my grandmother appeared in front of me just then. "Grandmother..." I called out to her, feeling choked up. "Lira...you've grown up to become so beautiful," my grandmother said to me, a smile on her old and wrinkled face Although s
CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR LIRA"....she is a young woman that I have always admired and so when I found out that she was my daughter, I decided to bring her back with me immediately. Since I have no other kids, she is going to inherit everything that I have. She..."The man was still going on about how h
CHAPTER FORTY-FIVESEBASTIAN "Play it again," I ordered the IT guy, whose hands were shaking violently. Dante had his gun pointed to the guy's head, and my eyes followed the people who were coming and going from the restaurant. The CCTV cameras on the route Isabelle and Sophia had taken just hap
CHAPTER FORTY-TWOSEBASTIAN A young maid sashayed over to me and dropped a glass of wine in front of me, she quickly withdrew and stood by the side, making her presence unknown. Facing Marco with a smile on my face, I picked up the glass of wine and sipped on it. I wasn't afraid that he would put

"Let me just start by making it clear that yesterday, I had no idea that you were the person that woman wanted me to frame. She
