MasukLucien’s POV
I shut the door quickly before they noticed I was there, Camille stepped closer as I tried as much as possible to steady my breathing so she wouldn’t know I was there. She got so close to my door I could perceive her cologne from a safe distance. From the hole beside the door I peeked, she was about knocking then she stopped… scanned the area like she was looking for her prized possession before stepping back “Must have been some rat” She hissed before turning back to face father “Lucien isn’t home yet…” My father said walking towards Camille “Oh I thought as much, he might be out there, somewhere being on a leash for some girl” “Who?” dad asked slowly in confusion “No body, who knows where he could be, he rejected me” she paused for a while before looking back at my door again “so I’m guessing there should be someone else out there better than me” Who does she think she is, to just walk in here and give her opinion about who I choose to be with, I murmured under my breath with a frown on my face… “You know you were the one I chose right?” “Yes father” The audacity to even call him father made me want to rip her hair out, how delusional can you be Camille. “But the most important thing was that he liked me which he didn’t, but I know he would one day, right father?” “Yes, my dear, I’d make sure he does” I watched her walk back to the center of the living room followed by my father, then looked up at Natalie’s room with a dreadful gaze before picking up my dad’s cigarette and took a little drag before setting it back down in the saucer “I’ll be off now” “Ok dear” Father walks her to the door and when she leaves, he shuts the door behind her. I sighed a sigh of relief knowing she was gone, but what was it with that glare at Natelie’s room? I paced around in my room bed to window, back and forth, my mind racing, trying to put my head around what happened the past few days, I already have someone doing some digging on the situation but nothing new from him. I opened my laptop again to check on Natalie and she was in her room anymore, I rushed out of my room to check if she wasn’t there. As I swung the door open, father looked surprised, and the color drained from his face so fast… “Oh Lucien, you’re home?” he asked surprisingly as he glared at me like I held one of his prized possessions “Yes, I was home an hour ago” “Ok, that’s good to hear, what were you…” “Do you need something father?” “No, it’s nothing” “Ok” I blared out before rushing upstairs to Natalie’s room, I pushed the door open forcefully and called out her name multiple times but was no reply from her I looked everywhere but the bathroom. Not the best idea but I had to confirm she wasn’t there, then I swung the curtains open, the bathtub was filled with water, and it was steamy, I went closer, and she was lying beneath the warm water. She was unconscious, undressed, she passed out again, I think it was because of the events that took place today. I was so relieved nothing really happened to her, wrapped her in a towel and placed her on her bed, luckily, she was still breathing slowly so I guess she wasn’t inside the tub for too long. She wakes up coughing a lot then I poured some water into the glass and handed it to her. “What are you doing here?” She chocked out “You passed out while bathing, saved you for the third time” “And why do you sound so egotistic about it?” “Are you trying to say I have ego?” “I’m pretty sure the word was pretty self-explanatory” “Stay out of harm’s way so I don’t have to save you every single time.” She glared at me before staring down at herself, she looked back at me one more time with wide eyes again. “Oh no you didn’t…” “Should I have left you down there to drown?” “Based on the situation, that could have been the best option, we aren’t related by blood so that makes it in appropriate for you to see me undressed” “Is that what you think? The most important thing is that you didn’t drown the best thing you could do is say thank you” “Don’t you have a girlfriend?” “I don’t need one, I don’t trust women.” “Wow. That’s new. Same way I don’t trust you either, a man what if you decided to take advantage of my unconsciousness?” “You think I would? You see Natalie, there’s a difference between me and does scumbag guys you hang out with…” I paused, watching the water drip from her wet hair to her shoulders and her wet thighs, the towel was barely long enough to cover the whole of her, my eyes met hers as I swallowed hard before continuing “Is that they hide their intentions before taking advantage of you in your weakest moment… whereas… I prefer you are aware of whatever I want to do you, whether good…bad…or naughty” “Pride… national trait of every born asshole” “What did you call me?” “I wasn’t particular about who I was referring to” “So, who is the asshole then?” “No one, just a saying” She smiled mockingly before sliding off the bed and opens a wardrobe to fetch a dress “Out I want to change” “In other for this brother sister relationship to work you have to be comfortable around me” “Comfortable? Around you? That isn’t a word you should be using because I don’t see that happening anytime soon and that doesn’t include getting dressed in front of you, does it? Now… leave before I scream” “Since you enjoy the word scream so much, should I give you a reason to do so” “Ha very funny. Get out!” “Fine, I’m leaving but don’t pass out again, this time I won’t be able to save you in time” Natalie’s POV I watched him leave the room with a grin on his face before shutting the door. Finally, alone, I dressed up and went outside to take a walk. I had my earphones on at the highest volume to block out the outside noise, then I spotted a cute cat on the walkway, It was stranded and didn’t have a name tag on it so I picked it up and cuddled it up in my jacket and took it back home. I took the stray cat to my room and filled the tub with some warm water to bath the cat, after the bubble bath I placed on my bed admiring it’s little paws, I looked round my room for something I could wrap the kitten in, I looked in the closet, checking for old clothes, maybe anything I didn’t need any more, I looked under my bed too, there wasn’t any old clothes too but there was something, something oddly familiar lying underneath my bed. I picked it up. My mother’s locket.Natalie's POV“Are you insane?” I screamed the moment I heard the tailor start begging. My wrists were still restrained, and the sound of her frightened voice only made the anger burning inside me grow hotter.I couldn't see either of them. The blindfold remained firmly over my eyes, blocking out everything around me, but somehow that made the situation even worse...I could hear every little movement. And then there was him...Completely silent and heartless, as if none of this bothered him.As if threatening someone over a wedding dress was the most normal thing in the world.I pulled against the restraints again, my frustration rising.“You're threatening her job because she doesn't want to measure me?” I demanded. “Seriously?”There was still no answer as I let out an angry laugh. “Wow. You really have no shame, do you?”The tailor quickly spoke again, her voice shaky...“I'm sorry, ma'am.”I turned my head toward the sound of her voice. “Don't apologize to m
Natalie's POV“Why are you doing this to me? To make you feel better about your miserable life?”I screamed as I pulled against the restraints tagged to my hands but it only tightened around my wrists, but I didn't care...I pulled again and again. My breathing became heavier as frustration continued to build inside me.I couldn't see anything...the blindfold covering my eyes had been there for what felt like forever, leaving me trapped inside complete darkness. All I could hear was my own breathing and the faint sounds coming from somewhere around me.Then I heard him laugh softly almost like my anger amused him.“Oh, sweetheart,” he said...his voice was closer now. “My life isn't miserable.”I clenched my fists...“Well, it was,” he continued after a short pause. “Not until I met you.”I stopped struggling for a moment....What?“The key to my problems.”I frowned beneath the blindfold...What the hell was he talking about?“The key?” My voice came out quiet
Natalie's POV“My mother?”The words escaped my mouth before I could even process what he had just said. “My mother?” I exclaimed again, my voice rising with disbelief. “My mother has been dead for a long time, so don't lie about her.”For a moment, there was silence, then he laughed, not the small chuckle I had become used to hearing from him...this time, he laughed loudly enough that I was almost certain the people outside the room could hear him.The sound immediately irritated me...“What the hell is funny?”He continued laughing for another few seconds before finally calming down. “So you really think your mother passed away?”“What?”“Is that what you think?”“What are you talking about?”“You're certain she's dead?”“Yes!” The answer came out immediately. “My mom died years ago.”“How do you know?”I stared into the darkness behind my blindfold. “Because I know.”“You were told.”“Yes.”“By whom?” I hesitated because there was something strange
Natalie's POV“You should be excited for our wedding, love.” He whispered with a slight chuckle, as though he had just said something amusing instead of something that made my blood boil. Our wedding? The words kept repeating in my head as I sat on the edge of the bed with the blindfold still covering my eyes, unable to see anything around me. I hated that more than I could explain. I hated not knowing where he was standing. I hated having to depend on the sound of his voice and his footsteps to figure out what he was doing. Most of all, I hated how comfortable he sounded...as though everything happening between us was normal.“Excited?” I repeated, my voice filled with disbelief. “Are you kidding me right now?” He didn't answer. “I’m not getting married to you!”My voice echoed through the room but he still didn't respond then I heard his footsteps moving away from the bed.I followed the sound instinctively, turning my head in the direction he had gone even though the bli
Natalie's POV"Our wedding love..." He said it with such pride and satisfaction, that my stomach lurched violently...I stared at the shadow of him, at the silhouette that had haunted my waking hours for days now—how many days, I couldn't even say anymore. Time had lost its meaning in this gilded cage..."No way," I spat, my voice cracking but defiant... "I'm not going to marry any stranger. I won't marry you."He laughed then, a sound that started low in his chest and rolled out like thunder before a storm, warm and terrible all at once. "Don't worry," he said, and I could hear the smile in his voice even though I couldn't see his face... "Before a week you'll get to know me. Intimately."The intimacy of his tone, the way he said it like a promise rather than a threat, ignited something feral inside me. Without thinking, without planning, I threw my body sideways with every ounce of strength I had left, my shoulder slamming into the food tray he'd brought in earlier, the glass of wa
Natalie's POV"In your dreams!" I screamed. My voice echoed through the room, but the man standing beside the bed didn't seem bothered by my anger. I could still feel the blindfold covering my eyes, leaving me completely dependent on my hearing to know where he was.I heard his footsteps moving away from me."Hey! Let me go!" I shouted after him. "You can't just kidnap someone and decide you're going to marry them!"He stopped for a moment then there was complete silence. Then, to my disbelief, he asked calmly, "What size is your finger?""Excuse me?""Your finger," he repeated. "What size?"Was he seriously asking me about a ring after everything I had just said? I clenched my hands around the cuffs"I'm not getting married to you," I snapped. "So don't bother making or buying me a ring."He didn't answer...Instead, I heard his footsteps coming back toward the bed. My body immediately tensed as I tried to move away, but there wasn't much room for me to go."What are you doing?" I dem
Natalie’s POV I never thought this day would ever come, a day when Lucien was this close to me and even on the same bed as me, the maid left after dropping off the message then I let out a sigh of relief as I peeked under my duvet… “Get the fuck out Lucien! What the fuck were you thinking?” He sl

Natalie’s POV I sat at my room balcony wandering what my life would have been if I didn’t become part of this family, safety, peace and no killing of the innocent, then there came a knock on my door, it was rather a bang and not a knock. “Why can’t I have some peace and quiet for one afternoon, u
