CHAPTER SIX
"What?" Alexander asked, he was really caught off guard. This girl…he thought, and placed two fingers under his chin, his eyes fixed on her."You heard me, I'd like to be your maid. Your personal one." Luna was saying things she didn't want to say, but she was loving it.She is confident, Alexander likes that. He darkened his eyes, trying to read her expressions. She wasn't joking, he could tell."You wouldn't last a day." Alexander said, pride evident in his voice. He was sure that this little girl wouldn't last a day with him. Nobody has."It's a challenge then."She walked out of the room, satisfied with herself."Ouch.." Luna exclaimed as she rubbed her forehead where it had come in contact with a really hard surface."Holy fuck." She cursed again, now feeling the searing pinch across her forehead."Fucks aren't holy.." Without looking up, she knew a charming smile would be plastered on the speaker's face. "They're either dirty or sinful.""You shouldn't wait right at the door! Look at you trying to rip my forehead with your abnormally hard chest!" Luna seethed, still not completely recovered from the hit. This time, she glared at Christian. His brows were high up and his signature smile decorated his handsome features."Okay-"No way could Christian accept defeat so easily and simply within the few hours she had known him-"But, I promise another part of me could be as hard and can rip not just your forehead in half." He smirked.Of course he wouldn't keep it holy."Shut up!"Christian pretended to zip his mouth and throw the keys away. But, almost immediately he spoke again."What was it you were discussing with the boss?"They were now walking out of the mansion."Being a maid."Christian paused, disbelief written all over his face. "Are you kidding! You're supposed to avoid him, not do that! Miles is gonna be hysterical, you've no idea how worried you made him.""I know, I know. But, I can't just stay doing nothing or I'm gonna pick everyone's pocket and get thrown out."Christian threw his head back and laughed heartily. They had only emerged, when a small and petite woman of about the same age as Luna, approached them."Hello, I'm Susan. You must be Luna, the boss told me to lead you to the quarters. I see you're our new maid."Susan smiled warmly, offering her equally small palm to which Luna took."This way please..""Take care. Make sure you stay alive and see your brother." Christian advised, as he jogged away, leaving her to follow Susan in the direction she left.It was odd how her life was taking turns in just the span of two days. It was crazy, but she liked it…so much."This is the kitchen..."It was large and filled to the brim with everything a kitchen required."We have a lot of maids who serve the cafeteria, but only a few get to serve the boss, Gold here does."Two women were dicing some onions, one raised her hands and waved without sparing her a look."Ignore them.." Susan whispered. "The other is Crystal. They're fraternal twins.""The boss takes his coffee first before breakfast. For a try, serve him this." Susan brought out a steaming cup of coffee on a portable tray."Dark coffee with no milk or sugar is his preference. Now take this to him..""What? Now-w?" Luna stuttered with wide eyes.Susan shrugged. "Yes."Luna squeezed her face into a frown. Soo, she found herself in the room she had only left minutes ago.It was clean now, with no blood or dead body unlike minutes ago. But, Alexander was still there looking out of the window. That was bad enough."Here."She dropped the coffee on the only available table in the room. "Your morning coffee."Oh, it wasn't hard!Alexander turned, he took long firm strides, pushing Luna's shoulder until her back almost hit the wall, but she stopped. What was happening? She breathed from the heat that suddenly emanated from his body.He leaned closer such that he was whispering. "You can't be my maid.""Why not?" Luna definitely raised her chin."Are you willing to serve me more than just my meal?" He whispered, allowing his lips to touch her ear."Are you?" Luna tried backing away from Alexander, but with every step that she took back, he took double. Her heart started beating fast, faster than normal and she didn't know how she felt about that. "I do not appreciate being ignored. You either answer me immediately..." He moved closer to her and gripped her waist as hard as he could, placing his mouth behind her ears again. "Or you end up like the man you saw in the room minutes ago," he completed, his hot breath brushing against her skin, which had gone cold from fear. He backed away from her with his eyes dancing with mischief, he really enjoyed seeing her like that; scared, legs shaking and definitely rethinking the decision she made. Alexander walked back to his seat and slowly took the coffee. He placed it against his lips, his eyes only fixed on one thing - person, Luna. Alexander didn't know what she was thinking, but he badly wanted to know. So, he peeled his eyes away from her and focused on the coffee. The moment the liquid left the cup and went straight into his mouth, he spitted it out, alerting Luna. She dashed forward and placed her hand on his back, asking him if he was okay. That question needed to be answered by her because she literally just walked into the lion's den, nobody ever dares to touch Alexander that way, nobody! But, there Luna was, rubbing his back, still asking him if he was okay. "Oh, you!" Alexander stood up immediately and gripped Naya's neck, making her stagger backwards. For a second, she lost her balance, but with Alex's hand on her neck, she didn't fall down. "What the fuck is this?" He asked, pointing to the almost empty cup of coffee. Luna stared at him like he had gone crazy for a second before muttering, "coffee. Your morning coffee," under her breath. A loud chuckle boomed across the room from Alexander's mouth. The naivety of the girl seemed so amusing to him. "I don't want it. It's bad." Alexander whispered and Luna's eyes settled on the coffee cup again. She was confused, so confused. "I-" she tried speaking to tell Alex that she didn't even prepare it, but his deadly stares made her swallow the words as soon as they formed in her head. "I said I don't want it! Make another one. You want to be my maid, show me you're really worthy to be my...maid."Many days laterLuna Luna gasped in awe, her heart was filled with so much joy, and with it came the feeling of fulfillment that she had always craved for all her life… the feeling of serenity and peace at last. She hugged herself, the smile tugging at her lips refused to falter as she stared at Alex ’s handsome face. This was unbelievable! Marvelously so! She couldn’t believe how long had passed during this short time and how it has suddenly become months that Alex has been hospitalized… and now, he is fine! Fine at last, and fine enough to come home. As they strutted out of the hospital, walking side by side, all Luna could think about was finally having a normal life. The thought made her shiver with excitement as she couldn’t wait to begin to live the kind of life that she has always dreamed of…the type that had always kept her awake, crying and wishing that a miracle would occur. And now, a miracle did occur. The fact that Gabriel had died had made her feel sad for a brief
A night laterLuna After a few minutes of waiting patiently for her client, her heart once again leapt with joy for the nth time today when she saw Alex walking towards her with a new found bounce in his steps. He was wearing a fancy mask, one that accentuated his face and matched the colour of his dress shirt; and as soon as he saw her, he smiled. A bright smile. One that squeezed the sides of his eyes until tiny wrinkles showed there. “What do we start with?” She asked him quizzically. She wasn’t sure she had a choice here if he mentioned anything she couldn’t do but she still felt compelled to ask due to how good her mood was. “Do you want to discuss?” She noticed how he clicked his tongue at her question and even how his eyes shone in agreement; he liked the idea too, it was obvious that he did but he shook his head in negation; “No,” He said, making Luna halt in her steps as she turned to stare at him incredulously. “I’d want you to dance.” He added slowly. His eyes met hers
Ashley Ashley felt restless and she couldn’t quite place a reason for her restlessness. Deciding not to sit around aimlessly while the boredom ate into her like termites would to wood, she decided to take a walk around the house. With a bottle of liquor in her hands and a dagger in the other, she pranced about the house until she got to the picture gallery. This part of the house was the most serene… and the most beautiful as well. She admired each portrait, running her fingers deftly over each and every one as she went until she stopped at one. It was a painting which was depicting a picture of Zeke . The picture which had been a gift from him and which she had hated with intense passion stared back at her as she stared at it. “Ugly, ugly burnt out carrot!” She chanted, tapping on the surface of the portrait. For a minute, she wished she could rip out his eyes from the portrait and that it would really happen in real life too. She hated him that much. She stared pointedly at th
He grunted at the thought, liking it more and more by the hour. He remembered he had asked her to do something for him and grunted scrubbing a hand over his face. "Well?" "Well what?" Ashley asked feigning ignorance as she walked to his wine cellar in the corner of the office. She picked up a bottle and poured some of it into her mouth, not bothering to grab one of the glasses staring at her. "I didn't see anything if that's what you're asking." She shuddered as she remembered the sight that had greeted her. Not something a sibling should have to see. But then Gabriel wasn't your typical sibling. He was her brother, yes but that was about it. It was only a matter of speaking. There was no emotional benefit attached. He treated her the way he treated his staff at work. The only thing he didn't do was ask her to blow his junk. It wouldn't surprise her if he did. He was a ruthless ** and a huge piece of work. "What did you find out?" He insisted, ignoring her failed attempt at feigning
"We are done." Gabriel met them at the entrance and they greeted him. "Okay, you can leave." He ordered and they did. "Now, don't you feel better?" Gabriel asked as he bit his lips as he stared at her. Luna, who had been tied for hours, was asked such a question. She was pissed. "Oh of course, thank you for feeding me and clothing me and making me feel like myself and even for the warm silky bath, goodness knows how I would be if you hadn't interfered right?" Luna was being sarcastic and rude. "Now now." Gabriel walked closer to her and shook his head. "That's not the right way to talk to me now is it?" Gabriel asked her as he held her chin and looked at her. He gulped when he saw how pretty she was and how her nipples were. He had malicious thoughts. "Let me suggest this. "I will- I will make you exclusive again and I will make your life a little bit easier if you don't mess up again? If you don't mess up again. We all know that I am very generous and this- this is all your fau
It was the next day, Luna thought all she experienced was a dream but it wasn't. It was real and true. She knew she was in for it. She rolled her eyes and fumed. She was in her old room, the room where she slept while she was with Gabriel . The room was dark, the shaky and dim light bulb still dimmed regardless, it was old and it let out smoke at times. There were some of her strippers clothes, they were on the floor. They seemed dirty and old too. The room smelt like it always did. It was more cold. The window hasn't been opened in months. The floor was dirty and messy. It seemed old and odd. The room was how she left it, nothing was removed or taken away. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "No one came here." She said She tried to move and realised she was in chains. The bulb became clearer. She saw herself naked. Her hands were hurting. She couldn't move. If she did; she was going to lose her hands or her legs. Her panic attack started and she knew where this was heading. She had be
