LOGINC8: Fuming Alice
That day went by, and watching Alice train with him was a bit excruciating. Raine would occasionally frown, pout, or look sad. The warriors did not help either, as they cheered them on and paired them together. Once they were done training, Alice left with Maya, leaving Raine behind. Raphael joined her, his eyes studying her sulking face. “What is the problem?” he asked softly, holding her hand, but Raine shook her head. How could she tell him she was filled with jealousy? Instead, she pecked him, shocking both of them. Raphael blinked twice, his lips slightly parted before they curved into a smile. “Seems like my feelings are mutual,” he said playfully. Raine looked away as her face suddenly turned red. She did not know what pushed her to do that, but she just wanted to secure him. “I... that was a mistake,” she stuttered, closing her eyes and wishing she could disappear because of the intense gaze she received in return. “Really? Don't you feel the same way I do? The intense pull whenever we are together?” Raphael asked as he moved closer and turned fully toward her. Raine blinked but slowly nodded shyly. He chuckled and cupped her cheeks softly, his gray eyes fixed on her brown ones as he leaned in. Raine blinked, her heart racing. She could hear its beat clearly. She gasped when Raphael kissed her but still gave in to the intense feeling. Meanwhile, Alice dragged Maya to a corner, her eyes scanning the area to make sure no one was around. “Have you gotten what I asked for?” she asked in a low tone. Maya sighed. “You don't have to be so careful. I have seen the book. You just have to tell me when you need it so I can get it,” she said proudly. Alice frowned. “So the book is not with you? Then what use is that? Still, you did well” she said arrogantly. Maya pressed her lips together but still smiled. She knew it was not easy to please her. “Is he a lycan?” Alice asked carefully, Maya nods her head. “He is half lycan, his mother is said to be a lycan, but she left him and his father the former beta for a long while before he died” Maya narrated proudly, she was sure Alice would be pleased this time. “I see…” the latter replied thoughtfully, it simply meant he wasn't a normal wolf. ‘no wonder father would want him to succeed him’. Alice stood silently for a moment before a cruel smile appeared on her face. She dismissed Maya and returned to the inner training ground. She froze at the sight before her. She clenched her fists as she watched them kiss. The way Raphael held Raine by the back with his left hand and kissed her deeply. The way Raine shivered, her eyes tightly shut. Alice felt her chest tighten as she watched them. She was not the only one watching. A few trainees had also noticed. “Wow, this has been going on and we didn't know,” one of them said in surprise. “I'm surprised. I thought Raphael would end up with the Alpha's second daughter,” another said. “He is only training her, but I heard Raine saved him. Besides, they have been close for a while now. It is just a pity they are not a powerful pair,” a third one added. “That is none of my business. Look at the way they are kissing, it is intense,” the first one said, fanning herself. Alice burned with anger as she walked toward them. “How dare you say such things?” she snapped, startling the trainees who had not noticed her earlier. “Scram!” She ordered angrily. They quickly apologized and ran off, not wanting to face her anger. Her presence alone made them uncomfortable. She did not bother to look at Raphael and Raine again. She left the training ground and went home, leaving Raine behind. Back at the training ground, Raphael slowly pulled away from the kiss. His eyes were filled with emotion as he looked at her flushed face. He gently brushed her lips while holding her so she would not look away. “I truly love you,” he whispered softly. Raine stared at him for a moment before a soft smile formed on her lips. She suddenly looked around. “Alice, where is she?” she murmured, biting her lip. Alex walked toward them. “Whoa, Raph, you didn't tell me this was going on,” he said, lightly hitting Raphael's arm. Raine looked away, her face still flushed. She forced herself to look up. “Did you see Alice?” she asked, trying to sound normal. “Oh, your sister? She left, and trust me, she looked like she was ready to cause trouble,” he replied dramatically. Raine stood up immediately. “I have to go home now. It is already late,” she said hurriedly, her hands fidgeting, but Raphael held her hand, stopping her. Alex watched them for a moment before leaving them alone. “Why are you so tense?” Raphael asked softly as he stood up. “If you are worried about your sister telling the Alpha, then we have no problem. I have already decided to make my feelings for you known to him. I can go with you,” he assured her. But Raine shook her head. She trusted him, but that was not the issue. She knew her parents. They would not hesitate to punish her if that was what Alice wanted. “I have to go home and explain things myself. You don't need to come with me right now. It is not the right time,” she insisted. She did not want him to see how she was treated, even though it was already obvious. Raphael clenched his jaw slightly, his eyes fixed on her. He knew she did not want him to come. “Alright, but remember that I am here for you at all times,” he said softly. Raine looked up at him, her heart lifting. She finally had someone who would stand by her and defend her. “Thank you,” she whispered as she hugged him tightly, as if he were her anchor… he was right now. After a while, she slowly pulled away and left, ready to face whatever awaited her at home.C97: His Vitali WolfThe Royal Physician tapped his fingers lightly against the wooden table, thoughtfully. He continued the act for a few seconds then he finally looked at Lucian. "Your Highness, I would like to make a few assumptions."Lucian nodded calmly. "I think she is a Vitali." He said before the Royal Physician could speak. The Royal Physician slowly raised a brow.Leonard, who had just picked up a cup of water, nearly choked. "A Vitali?" Leonard repeated, surprised at Lucian's suggestion.Liya was the only one left completely confused. She muttered softly to herself. "What... is a Vitali Wolf?"Neither Lucian nor Leonard answered immediately, they were engrossed in the conversation. The Royal Physician leaned back slightly before looking at Lucian once more. "I suspected the same thing."He folded his hands together. "But I would like to know why you think so too, Your Highness."Lucian leaned forward slightly. "When I finished giving her the White-leaved Moonherb liquid..
C96: You Will Always Be My Little Apple Lucian crossed the room in the blink of an eye.He dropped on one knee beside Raine before carefully lifting her upper body into his arms, his long fingers brushed away the strands that covered her face."Raine..." Her name rolled out softly from his lips, like something fragile. What a male like him was not known for.His mismatched eyes remained fixed on her pale face. One eye was icy blue while the other remained as black as fine obsidian stone. For the first time in a long while, his eyes carried something beyond indifference. It bore anger and pain.It didn't take long before the others followed him into the room.Liya’s eyes widened instantly. "My Lady!"She immediately ran over before kneeling beside Raine and gently held her shoulder."My Lady... wake up." Her voice trembled with worry, but Raine remained unconscious. The Royal Physician quickly crouched beside Lucian. His expression darkened when he noticed Raine's pale complexion.Luc
C95: His Little Apple Raine shook her head repeatedly. "No..."‘I’m not a jinx. I have never wished harm on anyone’ she muttered in her mind.‘I'm not an abomination.’She continued repeating those words in her mind, refuting the whispers. The whisper became angrier and more vicious."You are. You were born to bring misfortune.""You killed your aunt and destroyed your mother's womb."It slithered closer, "You… you are nothing but a curse." It let out an eerie laugh.Raine clenched her fists tightly. "No..." she whispered once more.“It wasn't my fault. I… am… no… jinx” she managed to speak once more.As those words left her lips the flower slowly appeared on the skin on her neck. Its black petals spread across her skin, but unlike before, nearly half of the flower had already turned golden. The golden hue glowed faintly beneath her skin. The whisper suddenly faltered, then became distorted as it screamed. "No..."“You're…Wolfless…” The voice sounded confused. The flower continued gl
C94: I'm No CowardLucian returned to his tent without wasting another second. The moment the curtain was pushed aside, Liya looked up immediately, her eyes filled with hope. "Your Highness..." Leonard, who had arrived not long ago with the Royal Physician, looked at him. "Lucian, how did it go?"Lucian stopped on his track, his expression remained unreadable. "We leave for the palace in four hours."Everyone fell silent.Liya lowered her head slightly, to her those four hours felt too long. The Royal Physician noticed the tension within the Grand Prince, he sighed inwardly."Your Highness, Raine should still be alright for now." Lucian shifted his gaze to him. If it was someone else they would scurry away at the intensity of his eyes. But the older male continued calmly. "The King's order was for her to return to the palace. Considering her condition, she should most likely be confined to her room until further questioning.” He paused for a moment and continued once more. “The her
C93: Terrifying EyesNyx raced through the forest at an astonishing speed. It was as if she seemed to understand her master's emotions. Her legs moved swiftly through the dense woods without slowing down for a second. The sounds of cracked fallen branches came quickly and disappeared as she moved swiftly.Lucian's face remained cold as he focused on the road despite the wind that brushed his face constantly. He gripped the reins tightly, while the leather pouch containing the White-leaved Moonherb hung securely at his side.By midday, they arrived at the camping ground, the twin generals standing at the entrance immediately bowed. "Welcome back, Your Highness." They chorused immediately.Lucian nodded faintly with a hum before climbing down from Nyx in one smooth motion.Without wasting another moment, he headed straight to the Royal Physician's tent, which was much closer than his tent. The Royal Physician looked up from the scroll in his hand when he saw a figure walk inside his te
C92: Wolfless Or Not?The assistant physician swallowed nervously. Her eyes remained fixed on the claw marks across Raine's back. They looked... different.Just yesterday, the wounds had been wider and more gruesome. Now the flesh around them seemed to have drawn together slightly.Though the claw marks were still deep, they had clearly narrowed. She blinked several times, wondering if she had imagined it.Liya immediately stood from where she was seated and walked over. "What is it?"The assistant stepped aside but didn't speak.Liya leaned forward to examine the wound herself, she frowned slightly."I... don't know what it looked like before."She glanced back at the assistant physician."But these wounds are still very deep."The assistant nodded absentmindedly. "They are… but they were wider."Liya's brows knitted together in confusion. "What do you mean?"The assistant shook her head slightly. "I need to call the Royal Physician now."Without waiting for another question, she hur
C28: The VitaliRaine walked quickly through the hallway, her steps uneven. The itching had reduced, but something still felt off. Her fingers hovered near her neck, resisting the urge to touch it again.Raine turned a corner and suddenly stopped as she glared at the figure, Raphael stood in front
C17: The Lycan DecreeThe next morning, the mansion was normal as it was before. The traces of the previous night’s celebration were still there.empty goblets, scattered petals, and half-cleared tables… They were reminders of the couple’s union.Raine didn't have breakfast with them but left for th
C10: Birthday Night Two months later, evening… The days had passed peacefully, with little or no trouble from Alice. Raine thought it was a good sign. Maybe Alice was too focused on her training to cause problems. Today was her birthday. Raine sat in the bathtub with her eyes closed, lost in her
C9: The Only Chance Raine trekked home, watching as the sun slowly dipped beneath the horizon. Before nightfall, she arrived. The moment she stepped inside, she saw her parents seated. Their expressions were unreadable at first, but the instant their eyes fell on her, everything changed. Alice
