LOGINLiam's pov
" Damnit damnit…shit”
After all my efforts to get this document signed from the damn Kylie, she still chose that bastard. I never thought Kylie would love anybody asides me.
“You know,I can help you bring down Yamah and your wife..ohh I meant to say your ex wife, just one night Liam. You know every night back in those days I hear how Kylie screams and moans. Make love to me, just once liam" she said coming closer in an enticing way.
“I can't seerah,I still feel something for Kylie I can't do whatever you are asking"
“well how about I expose your sex tape to the board of directors and guess what, you won't have a chance with the Yamah's group” she chuckled dangerously
“Wait seerah, which sex tape"
“Ohh you mean the one where you were having sex with Aurora in the hospital or the one where you were having sex with Kylie’s supposed best friend" she chuckled again but this time it was deep.
“Seerah ok look what do you want?”
“Just one night Mr Liam then you and I will bring down those two lab rats"
I had no choice besides she was one hot house keeper. Seerah wasn't just a baddie she was toxic. The room was already filled with heat, there was no space between our bodies, I had never experienced this kind of fire from any of the women I have slept with. Seerah was so different her moves, her voice, her grip, her smell.
" Oh my goodness..you are so good Liam”
Her moans sounded like a rhythm in my ear, every sweat rolling down her neck seemed more tempting.
It was over two hours and we kept going on and on. Until I heard a knock on the door. The door creaked open and he just walked right in. He seemed like someone I never met.
" Did you get him to sleep with you”
" Yes hubby" she said
Husband!! Seerah was married.
“Now Mr Liam if you must care to know,I'm Klington Yamah, the elder brother to Yamah smith. I want Smith dead, then I take over that group while you work in hand with me”
Everything felt like a dream. At this point I wasn't sure to be happy or have regrets.
“Mr Klington sir, I just want my wife back and a signature that's all"
“I have your sex clip with my wife, how about now?"
This bitch sabotaged me into sleeping with her.
" What's your offer sir?”
“Simple, kill my brother so I can be the next in line plus you can get your ex wife back"
" Deal, anything to get Kylie back”
I knew it was a hard decision but as long as Kylie is in the picture, then definitely I would do anything.
Yamah's pov
Everything seems to be normal but I still don't know why Kylie was fully naked on my bed with the sheets stained with blood.
" Um Mr Yamah your contract deal of seven hundred million dollars is ready to be signed” one of my staffs said.
Atleast it made me happier that I wasn't working for money, money was working for me.
I haven't Heard from Kylie since last night I'm curiosity even the worsened the pain that I felt from her absence. Dear she was sobbing cuddling her pillow in tears the only woman I really felt something for the only woman that I really felt peace from I love Kylie so much she wouldn't even believe that I was the one who put her in a better ward room in the hospital.
My phone vibrated on the bedside table, dragging my attention away from the image of Kylie burned into my thoughts. I frowned. Unknown number.
I hesitated for a second before answering.
“Hello?”
Silence.
Then a breath. Slow. Careful.
“Mr. Yamah,” the voice finally spoke, low and strained, as if the caller was afraid of being overheard. “If you value your life, you’ll listen carefully.”
I straightened instantly. “Who is this?”
“You don’t need to know that. What you need to know is that your enemies are closer than you think.”
My grip tightened around the phone. “If this is a prank—”
“It’s not,” the voice cut in. “And this call will only happen once.”
A pause followed, heavy and deliberate.
“They’re not coming for you yet,” the caller continued. “They need you alive Cooperative. Confused.”
My heart began to pound. “Who are they?”
A faint chuckle escaped the line. “You’ll figure that out soon enough.”
I clenched my jaw. “Say what you called to say.”
Another pause.
“Kylie,” the voice said quietly.
My breath caught. “What about her?”
“She’s not missing. She’s not safe either.”
Cold spread through my chest.
“She’s being watched,” the caller went on. “Controlled without chains. They won’t hurt her—not yet. She’s leverage.”
I stood up abruptly. “Where is she?”
“I can’t tell you that.”
“You expect me to trust a faceless voice making threats about my wife”
“wife to be” the voice corrected. “And yes. Because if you don’t, this ends badly.”
The line crackled, as if the signal was breaking.
“There’s a contract,” the caller added quickly. “Seven hundred million. They want your signature.”
My eyes narrowed. “And if I refuse?”
“They tighten the noose. Slowly. Around her.”
Rage burned through me, hot and uncontrollable. “Who sent you?”
“No one,” the voice replied. “I’m trying to stay alive.”
Before I could say another word, the call ended.
I stared at the phone in disbelief.
My chest rose and fell rapidly as I replayed every word. Kylie being watched. A contract. Someone inside my circle.
I immediately dialed her number.
Straight to voicemail.
Again.
Nothing.
I swore under my breath and grabbed my jacket. Whoever was behind this thought I would panic. Thought I would rush blindly.
They were wrong.
If Kylie was leverage, then I needed to act like I didn’t know she was in danger.
I called my head of security instead.
“Double the internal surveillance,” I said calmly. “No alerts. No noise. I want names, movements, and phone records. Quietly.”
“Yes, sir.”
I ended the call and stared out the window, my reflection staring back at me—controlled, composed, furious.
Whoever thought they were playing chess with me had underestimated one thing.
I would burn the entire board down before I let them touch her.
My phone vibrated again.
Another unknown number.
I answered immediately.
“Talk,” I said.
This time, the voice on the other end wasn’t cautious.
It was
amused.
“Good,” the voice said smoothly. “I was hoping you’d answer.”
My blood ran cold.
“Because now,” he continued, “the game has officially begun.”
Kylie’s POVI don’t know how long I stood there. The mirror had become a habit lately. I always observed how the baby was kicking but then my body didn’t feel like it belonged to me anymore.I traced my fingers slowly over the curve of my stomach. Alive in a way that felt both miraculous and terrifying.“In no time,” I whispered to my reflection, “you’ll be here soon.”The words trembled more than I expected. The baby shifted slightly under my palm, and I inhaled sharply. Every movement reminded me that this wasn’t theoretical anymore. There would be a face. Eyes. nose and Fingers. Who would he resemble. That was what scared me the most.I leaned closer to the mirror, studying my own features. My nose. My mouth. My eyes.Would the baby have his eyes or mine? The thought tightened something in my chest. It would be the hair first. Everyone notices hair. If it came out thick and dark like Liam’s…My throat dried. The DNA test said one thing but my heart knew the truth.Behind me, the
Yamah’s POVThe moment she saw the name, I knew I had run out of time.“Kira?” Kylie’s voice wasn’t loud. It was worse. Calm. Measured. Thinking.Liam was still catching his breath across the room, but suddenly he didn’t matter. The air shifted. The danger wasn’t him anymore. It was the phone in my hand.“Who is Kira?” she asked again.I locked the screen.“No one important.”Her eyes didn’t leave my face. She wasn’t the same girl who used to accept my answers just because I sounded confident. She had started watching me. Studying me.“Kira isn’t no one,” she said quietly. “You don’t tense up for no one.”I forced a small exhale. Controlled. “It’s business.”“At this hour?”“Yes.”She stepped closer. Not aggressively. Intentionally.“You don’t look at business like that,” she said.Like what?Like I had just seen a ghost.Liam gave a weak laugh from the side. “Oh, this is interesting.”“Stay out of it,” I said sharply without looking at him.But Kylie heard the shift in my tone. She a
Kylie’s POVI was still staring at the ring on my finger when Yamah pulled me gently toward him.“You’re thinking too much,” he murmured.“I just got engaged to the most powerful man in the city,” I replied lightly. His lips curved slightly. “You didn’t get engaged to just me. You got engaged to power.”There was something about the way he said that. Calm but Possessive in a way that almost felt safe.He brushed his thumb along my jaw and leaned in more. The kiss started slow. I tried to lose myself in it. Tried to silence the tiny voice in my head that kept whispering that the baby in my stomach was Liam's. His hands rested at my waist, steady, firm. Mine moved to his shoulders. For a moment, everything outside the room disappeared. Then his phone vibrated but he ignored it. I pulled back slightly. “You’re not going to check that?”“It can wait,” he said. The phone vibrated again. And again. That was when he sighed and reached for it lazily. But before he could turn the screen awa
CHAPTER 35Kylie’s POVI barely slept the night before the DNA test.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Yamah, Loving me without questions. And then Liam’s face followed right after with anger and hurt. Desperate to prove that the child inside me was his.My chest felt tight and heavy. Like I was standing at the edge of a cliff with nowhere safe to fall.Morning came earlier than I expected. Liam arrived early, exactly as he had threatened. He did not even knock properly. Just walked in with that same stubborn energy, like I owed him answers.“Get ready,” he said. “We’re leaving now.”I forced a small smile. “Good morning to you too”“This isn’t a joke, Kylie.”His voice softened slightly when he looked at my stomach. But the tension in his eyes never disappeared. We drove to the hospital in silence. The air inside the car felt thick. Liam kept glancing at me like he was already preparing for victory. Like he was certain the results would bring me back to him. When we arrived, the ho
Klington’s POV The air outside the prison gates tasted different.I should have felt relieved, but instead there was only pressure sitting inside my chest like there was unfinished business.Kylie walked beside me quietly. She looked tense and distracted, like her thoughts were running faster than her steps. I watched her carefully. She bailed me even when she barely knew me. That alone said a lot about her character.A good heart in a dangerous world. We reached the car park and stopped beside her vehicle. She turned to me quietly. “So… will you help me?” she asked again, her voice cautious.I leaned against the car and crossed my arms. “You really believe your best friend could be a killer?”Her eyes hardened slightly. “I don’t want to believe it. But I can’t ignore the signs either.”I studied her face. too pure for the chaos surrounding her. That was when something inside me shifted.Maybe it was guilt.Maybe it was the fact that she had taken a risk for me when she didn’t have to
Yamah’s POV I sat at the edge of my bed long before the sun came up. The world outside kept moving, but inside me everything felt stuck. The photograph rested in my hand.I had stared at it for hours, tracing its edges with my thumb like it might disappear if I let go. I remembered exactly when that happened, though I tried not to think about it too much.A small smile flickered across my face, but it hurt more than it comforted.“I’m sorry,” I whispered, though no one was there to hear me.My chest tightened. Guilt wrapped around my ribs like chains. I had left something behind. Something I should never have abandoned. Something that kept haunting me every time I looked at this picture. The door creaked open behind me.I quickly lowered the photograph, but not fast enough.“Babe?” Kylie’s voice was soft and hesitant. “Are you okay?”I forced a breath into my lungs and placed the picture face-down on the bedside table before turning toward her. She stood in the doorway wearing one o
