“Haa.” I heaved a sigh after I finished mopping the floor where the coffee had spilled.

“Becky, have you made the cake?” Blake asked as he walked toward me.

I wasn’t really a fan of nicknames, but since I got hired here, I was rarely called Rebecca. That name always brought back memories of my past that never stopped haunting me.

“Rebecca?” Blake waved a hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my trance.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” I replied, leaning the mop against the wall

“What’s got your mind so occupied that you couldn’t hear me? Or is it my charm?” he asked with a smirk curling on his lips.

I rolled my eyes at Blake and his self-absorbed attitude. I knew he was trying to lighten the mood, but his obnoxiousness still pissed me off.

“Ugh, you’re such a narcissist.”

“Well, if it isn’t my looks that got you so worked up, then what did?” he asked, this time serious, unlike his usual playful self.

I knew Blake was trying to be considerate, but I didn’t like the idea of disclosing my past to anyone or revealing who I really was.

“Oh, it’s nothing,” I replied bluntly, my head hung low.

“Rebecca, don’t lie to me. You can trust me,” he said calmly.

“No, it’s nothing, really,” I said, trying to end the conversation about what had me so worked up.

“You call it nothing when I called you five times before you responded. Rebecca, I—”

Before he could finish, a customer interrupted. I was curious about what he was about to say, but luckily the customer saved me from his questions.

“Hello, I’m here to pick up the cake.”

Oh shit. I had totally forgotten about the cake. How was I going to explain that to the customer?

“I’m so sorry, ma’am. Your cake isn’t prepared yet. Please, could you come back later in the day?” Blake responded before I could even think of an excuse.

“Okay, I’ll come later. Ummm… I was wondering if I could have your number,” she asked Blake, batting her eyelashes and pouting seductively.

I knew Blake was handsome, but damn, she shouldn’t have thrown herself at him like that.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, but I can’t disclose my personal information to a stranger.” Blake rejected her request, and it shocked me because he was a popular playboy.

“Okay, see you later, handsome,” the lady said and left without waiting for a response.

“You know, I thought you wouldn’t turn her down, since you’re a popular playboy,” I said.

Blake touched the back of his neck, and I knew he only did that when he was nervous.

“Well… I like someone, and I don’t know how to express it to the person,” Blake replied nervously.

“Then tell her. It’s better to confess than to die having a crush,” I joked, and Blake let out a nervous laugh.

“Anyway, I have something to tell you, Becky.”

“Which is?” I said, giving him the go-ahead.

Blake touched the back of his neck again, and I knew he was nervous.

“Well, I wanted to tell you that I—”

Before Blake could finish what he was saying, he got interrupted by Elena’s excited scream, and I really wanted to hear what had made him so nervous.

“Becky, I did it!” Elena screamed in excitement, jumping up and down.

“What?” I asked, curious to know why she was so excited.

“I got a new place to stay. It’s so amazing, but I have to share it with three people to be able to pay the rent,” Elena replied.

“Wow, that’s great to hear,” I commented.

“So… I was wondering whether you and Blake could come stay with me,” Elena said.

My eyes went wide at her request, and I was completely shocked.

“What?” Blake and I said at the same time.

“You know, you guys were looking for a better place to stay, so… I guess this could be helpful.”

The idea was great, but there was no way I was going to agree.

“No!” Blake and I said again in unison, and for a second I thought he was reading my mind and voicing it out.

“Please… I’ve only found one person to share with, and you guys are the perfect fit for the position,” Elena pleaded, trying to make us buy into her idea.

“Okay, I’ll think about it,” I told Elena, and I saw a smile curl on her lips.

“How about you, Blake?” she asked, turning to him.

“Oh… I’ll look into it,” Blake replied with a reassuring smile.

“Can’t wait for your decision,” Elena said, bouncing on her toes.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever,” I replied flatly.

“Way to ruin the moment,” Elena said, rolling her eyes dramatically.

“Anyway, Blake, could you excuse us for a while? We’ve got some girl talk,” Elena requested, already dismissing him with a wave.

“Okay,” Blake said and turned to leave.

“What’s up with the both of you?” Elena asked, leaving me clueless.

“Who?” I asked with raised brows, because I had no idea who she meant.

“Ugh, don’t pretend. I already know there’s something fishy going on between you and Blake,” Elena said with her usual dramatic expression.

“There’s nothing going on between us,” I replied with a sharp tone.

“If you say so, then why was he acting so nervous with you?” Elena pressed, her hands on her hips and her foot tapping the floor.

“He was about to tell me who he likes,” I replied, rolling my eyes.

“So… who does the playboy have a crush on?” she asked, and I definitely felt like smacking her head because I couldn’t find out.

“All thanks to your scream, I couldn’t find out who,” I said, sarcasm dripping in my tone.

“Oh… I really wonder who he fell for, or who stole his heart. I guess she’s lucky because she got one handsome guy to herself,” Elena said with her arms crossed.

“Yeah, I’m also curious about who he likes,” I said seriously.

“Anyway, I’m going to make the cake. Could you help me?” I begged Elena, pouting with puppy eyes.

“Well, I guess you have to say yes to staying in the house I mentioned earlier,” Elena said, putting me in a tight spot.

“Ok, I agree,” I said, finally giving in. “Now come help me.”

“Okay, I’m coming,” she replied and followed me to the kitchen.

I really missed my mates, but I had to try and forget about them since I knew I wasn’t going to see them again. Still, I had a feeling they would find me, though I forced myself to shrug it off.

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Messed up

"What?! Are you serious?" Emily said, her eyes widening in shock."Yes, I am. And why would I joke about something like that?" Cassidy responded."I hope you rejected him," Emily said, raising her brows."No, I didn’t. I was so shocked to even process anything," Cassidy replied."Did you go back to look for him after you processed everything?" Emily asked."Yes, I did, but he was already gone when I came back to check for him," Cassidy answered."Does anyone else know, or is it just me?" Emily asked another question."Only you know about this," Cassidy replied."Damn," Emily breathed, still stunned by all of this."I don't know what to do. I'm so confused," Cassidy said."I think you should tell your father since you're confused. He could help you reach out to him as far as you can still remember his looks," Emily advised."Thanks for the idea. I didn't even think of that," Cassidy appreciated."You're welcome," Emily acknowledged. "Do you still remember what he looks like?" she asked

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Cassidy's mate

When they arrived at the restaurant, Cassidy couldn’t hide her surprise. It was the most elegant and expensive place in the entire pack.Kael was the first to step out of the car, followed by the others. Once everyone was out, he locked it and led the way toward the entrance.Inside, a waiter greeted them warmly. “Good morning, Alphas. Good morning, Ms. Cassidy,” he said with a polite bow.“Please follow me to the VIP section.”“Alright,” Kael replied on behalf of everyone, and the waiter led them toward the elevator that would take them to the top floor. When they reached the VIP section, they were shown to the best table, where they settled comfortably.“What would you like to have?” the waiter asked.“We’ll take steak and four bottles of vodka,” Damien replied for the group, and the waiter wrote the order down quickly.“Would you like dessert?” he asked next.“We’ll have—” Damien began, but Kael cut him off.“No dessert,” Kael said simply.Damien and Lucian exchanged a questioning g

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Forced date

He discovered that the rogue had been sent by Xander, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, under orders from Beta Aldric. After gathering all this information, Kael decided not to tell his father everything. Even if he did, his father wouldn’t believe him. While Kael was still figuring out how to tell his father, a maid knocked on the door of the study where he was.“Who’s there?” Kael asked, wondering who would disturb him after he’d clearly said he didn’t want to be disturbed.“It’s a maid, Alpha,” the maid announced.“What?” he asked flatly.“Your father summons you,” the maid said.“Okay,” Kael acknowledged, and the maid who was standing on the other side of the door left.Kael wondered why his father would send a maid to summon him when he could have simply used a mindlink. He stood up from his chair and left the study for his father’s quarters. • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   New job

I hated hangovers; they were the worst. Well, that served me right for drinking too much. I woke up late, and luckily it was Sunday and not a workday. My hair was a complete mess, and I smelled like alcohol. I knew I had to take a shower immediately.I got out of bed, took off the clothes I wore to the party, and tossed them into the laundry basket in my room. Then I went into the bathroom and took my time in the shower before finally stepping out after what felt like hours. When I was done, I went to the closet and picked out something simple to wear ; a black baggy shirt paired with blue baggy trousers. I removed the towel wrapped around my body and hair, hung it on the towel rail, then applied some body cream before putting on the clothes I’d chosen earlier, along with blue slippers. After finishing up, I dried my hair and applied some cream to it before leaving my room to prepare breakfast. But as soon as I reached the kitchen, the sweet smell of pancakes hit me, and there was Bla

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Secret company

Kael still couldn’t believe he had seen his mate, and that he had even kissed her. The moment kept replaying in his mind. The anger that surged through him when he saw her grinding against another man still burned in his chest. He had wanted to rip the man apart, to tear him limb from limb, but he held himself back. He couldn’t risk scaring her. He’d seen the pain in her eyes when he walked away. He wished he could have stayed longer, just a little more time to hold her, but he couldn’t. He had to return to the pack before anyone grew suspicious. The last thing he needed was to draw attention to himself, not when things were already tense. When Kael got back from seeing his mate, he ended up killing a few rogues who had tried to attack the pack borders, leaving their lifeless bodies behind. He made a mental note to tell his father about it later in the day.The moment Kael realized he smelled like his mate, he quickly masked her scent. He couldn’t afford anyone picking up on it.Now t

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   A kiss

“I… will do it,” I agreed nervously and went over to Blake’s side, sitting on his lap. I wasn’t even wearing any panties, so I was sure he could feel it. I hadn’t even started rocking him yet, and he was already hard, his dick poking against my thighs. After a minute of sitting still, I began moving slowly, rocking him, and he kept getting harder through his pants. When I was done, I stood up, leaving him painfully hard. His face was red, veins popped along his neck, and his jaw was clenched tight. “Way to go, Becky, you left him hard,” Abby said with a smirk curling on her lips. I so badly wanted to wipe it off. This game was getting too intense, and I had to ask if we could end it or play something else because I didn’t want to be asked anything so bold again. “Could we play another game?” I asked. “No way, Becky. We’ll only stop when we’re drunk or tipsy,” Lily announced, and I knew I had to brace myself and hope it didn’t point at me again. A few minutes passed, and luckily, i
