Sorrel’s POV

That was singularly the most stupid word I could have said.

He halted, his grip on me now tentative, contemplating and deliberate as it was careful. His eyelids widened by just a tad bit and his faded green eyes watched as one observed a specimen.

“And did you see anything?” In all my days in Wolffang pack, I’ve never seen Nathaniel this calm.

But I was not foolish, he was only letting his guard down and wearing this armor to notice my slip-ups.

I exhaled, my mind made up. It was t

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 72

Sorrel’s POV“Oracle,” Poppy greeted me with a bow; the guards standing beside me gave a bow as well, and I joined in.He stepped aside from the door and I took a step forward. Time seemed to slow as I reached him, then as I passed his side. My breath was caught, the entire time, conscious of every fibre of the organ I was made of.We were already close to the stairs when I heard Kaine speak.“Is the Luna okay?” His eyes dropped to the hem of my dress that had the residue of the vomit on it. I tried to remain calm when my heart was pounding and blood drumming in my ears. I kept my smile in place that tried to break out With a curt bow, I said, “I’m fine, your diviness.”Lifting my head a little, I caught his eyes, watching me intently.I pivoted with as much grace as I could garner in that moment because all I wanted was to beam at him, grab his hand, and tell him how he was noticing little things about me.But I couldn’t do that because we had an audience. More to that, the pack wa

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 71

Sorrel’s POV“My lady! Your Highness! Are you okay? What happened?” Poppy held me as I heaved and reached my guts out. Tears filled my eyes as I held Poppy with everything I had. What’s wrong with me? What’s going on?I held myself down, lowered my head to make sure that not a trickle of tears rolled down my eyes. I almost yelled out in frustration, but we were before a handful of werewolves. There was enough going on, I didn’t need to add my frustration to it.I wiped my mouth and lifted my head. “Is the Luna okay?” A pup asked from the crowd. She had come to rebel as well.“Did the Luna get the plague?”“What’s the issue?”“I am fine,” I spread my hands and looked at them. “Just had a little allergy."“Of what?”I gave a stiff smile, “I am fine now. That’s all that matters.”I pushed down the fact that my mouth must be stinking and the fact that I just vomited not too long ago and approached the perturbed werewolves.“What’s the problem?” I asked.“The plague.”“It has spread over

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 70

Sorrel’s POVNathaniel knew that Kaine was my mate. He had known all this while. From the day when our mate bind clicked into place. At the altar, the way I had blurted out the mate felt so real and he would have added up everything to know who my mate could have been.Hell! How did I not know?I clutched my hair and cursed. That was why he had taken me outside to kiss me before Kaine, that was why he had asserted possessiveness before Kaine to spite him, to get him to react. It was so obvious, so apparent that he knew I was fooling him, and he went along with it.He must have enjoyed all those times when Kaine looked like he would break from seeing Nathaniel touching me, especially on the balcony and in the hallway during the ball. What sick joy could he possibly derive from that? From all that?He was baiting his brother all this while, happy to see Kaine in torture while he owned me before my mate.As everything flashed through my hair, slipping into place like a puzzle, it made

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 69

Abigeal’s POVMy heart dropped the moment the guard asked that. His eyes narrowed and I could feel our chance of slipping out of here eluding us.Sabestain clutched the knife tighter, he was bringing it forward when I stepped up.“No,” I chuckled nervously. “It’s just the drink my friend here was having. She poured it on him when she passed out.” I placed my hand on her shoulder. The guard looked at Melissa on Sabestain's back. Her hair was scattered and she looked like she had had enough to drink.“Very well.” He stepped out of the way for us to walk out and I might as well have run out of the room. The moment we were inside I saw the possessed servants stop before the guards. I clutched Melissa by the hand and looked around in fear.It was late, very late. There was no way we were going to get home or even get to safety. “What are we going to do?” I asked Sabestain, my eyes on the servants inside. They had gone back inside. That had to be a good thing, or they would have gone to r

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 68

Abigeal’s POVFear snatched the air from my lungs and made me gasp. Sabestain was trying his best to keep them away but he was one wolf against five possessed werewolves. I got up from my spot and bit one of them, deep, with all my strength. The possessed wolf flung his hand back, hit me squarely on the face and I fell.“They are not backing down!” I yelled to Sabestain. “We cannot fight them off.”He ran his knife through one of them, he looked down to see the knife sticking in his abdomen, lifted his hand, and went to strike Sabestain. But Sabestain was quick, he ducked, grabbed the knife, and rolled over to me.“We have to get out of here,” he said.“Yeah no kidding. Do we walk through the door over there?”“I’ll fight them while you go.”My eyes widened, “What? No!”“You have to go,” he said, throwing the knife and catching it mid-air, staring at the possessed werewolves circling us.“I cannot leave you.”“You have to!”“I know you think I’m a monster, but I am not leaving you he

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 67

Oracle’s POVThis was the tenth book I was opening in the temple, neither had the ninth one. Nothing about the plague. It was as if a plague like this had never existed before. And the fact that I was not coming up with anything, no answer was as though insects were crawling beneath my skin. I yearned to reach inside and snatch it off, but I could not.I had consorted some help from Oracle Maximus, he was clueless as well. More to that he was not giving me everything I asked for.He was withholding information.Last time when he had visited me, he had said the gods and goddesses had no clue what was going on and whatever happened here was affecting them up there. Have things gotten worse? He also did not stay till the end of the chat. He had been in a hurry and implored me to find a solution. The girl—Luna—he believed was still a major part of the puzzle. She was different, there was a light he got from her, like a feeling but he could not know because he had never seen anything lik

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 3

Sorrel’s povMy body was on fire. For two days after the rejection, it felt like I would combust into tiny pieces of flesh, but I didn’t and some part of me wished I’d do.Today I was accepting my fate.I was Luna to the Wolffang pack and I was married to Alpha Nathaniel whether I liked it or not.

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 2

Sorrel’s pov“Who’s your mate?“ Nathaniel asked the moment we were in our room. He was furious, ready to burn me to the ground with his stare. He was never going to love me, even after 6 months of courtship to sell this lie.“Answer me!” He barked and I flinched.“No one!” I blurted out. I don’t kn

  • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 1

Sorrel’s povNo…no…noI stumbled back, hands on the wall as I tried to find my way back to my fitting room. Noise hummed in my head and their moans floated at the back of my mind.*It’s normal. • THE ORACLE IS MY MATE   Chapter 6

Sorrel’s POVI jumped to my feet and tossed the pillow and sheets on the bed. Then I quickly smoothed my hair. With a glance at the mirror, I threw the door open.My breath hitched.Sometimes I forgot how ethereal Kaine was. He had jet-black hair, and I didn’t know if he put effort into looking oth
