Sharon’s POV

I always thought the moment of my death would feel distant.

But nothing prepared me for the raw terror of having a blade pressed against my throat, or the horror of knowing that the man I trusted had just risked my life like it was a pawn on a chessboard.

I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think. My breath stuttered in and out as Morris and Aemond glared at each other with words sharper than any dagger.

“Morris,” I whispered, my voice hoarse. “Stop. Please.”

But he didn’t even look at me. His eyes were locked on Aemond like I was an object in the background, a bargaining chip. Fury, desperation, and madness flickered in his golden irises. I had never seen him look that way.

And certainly not with me standing so close to danger.

“Morris,” I said louder, “I’m pregnant-”

Aemond moved. A swift flick of his wrist.

And something hot trickled down my throat.

Warm. Wet. Metallic.

My heart stopped.

The sound Morris made will haunt me forever. It was a strangled mix between a growl and

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT: WHAT’S HIS

SHARON’S POVMy son is gone.My son is gone. The words repeat in my skull like a curse, like a nightmare refusing to let me wake. My pulse hammers so hard it shakes through my bones. I feel Morris’s hands on my shoulders, warm and steady, but nothing about me is steady right now.“Sharon,” he says firmly, lowering his voice, “look at me.”“I can’t—” My breath breaks. I can’t breathe. I can’t think. “Morris, someone took him. Someone walked into his room and we don’t even know where they could be or what they are doing with him or what they want—”“I know,” he says gently.“No, you don’t!” I snap, jerking away. “You don’t know what it feels like to look at an empty cradle and see nothing.” My voice cracks. “He’s just a baby. A defenseless baby. What if they harm him?”“No one is harming a baby.”“Then you have no idea how ugly the world really is. What if Aemond-““Aemond is dead, Sharon. You watched him take his last breath.” Morris reaches for me again, but I step back. Panic claws u

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN: THE ANNOUNCEMENT

SHARON’S POVI have never been surrounded by this many hands at once.Maids bustle around me in a flurry of fabrics, brushes, and soft murmurs. Someone pins my hair while another laces my corset tighter, and two others smooth down the flowing dark-blue gown Morris had left on my bed earlier. The dress is breathtaking. It was off-shoulder, with shimmering silver embroidery that dances under the candlelight. I hardly recognize myself in it.When they finally step back, giving me room to breathe, I lift my gaze to the mirror. And for a moment, I forget how to inhale. The woman staring back at me is… regal. Poised. Beautiful in a way I never imagined I could be. The diamonds at my throat shimmer like trapped stars. My hair is twisted up into an elegant style that reveals the delicate slope of my neck, and my lips are painted a soft rose that makes me look far gentler than I feel.“Luna Sharon, you are ready,” one of the maids says cheerfully.Ready.As if anyone is ever ready for a night

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER FIFTY SIX: DAEMON’S LITTLE SURPRISE

SHARON’S POVSunlight streamed through the tall windows of the royal bedchamber, glowing softly against the freshly laid sheets. The room had been polished and prepared for the ceremony preparations, and the massive bed carved from dark oak and draped in cream linens looked almost unreal. I ran my fingers across the embroidery along the edge, feeling the delicate stitching of crescent moons.“Do you like it?” Morris asked behind me, his voice low and warm.I turned and saw him leaning against the doorframe, arms folded, watching me with that familiar softness in his eyes. “It’s beautiful,” I said. “You didn’t have to do all this.”He pushed off the frame and walked toward me slowly, each step deliberate, as though savoring the moment. When he reached me, he framed my face with both hands.“I did it because you deserve everything, Sharon.” His thumb brushed my cheek. “And because… tonight will be the beginning of something new.”My heart fluttered. “Tonight?”He smiled. “I’m hosting a

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE: HER HAPPY EVER AFTER

SHARON’S POVI never imagined the day would come when I’d be inspecting a nursery. It was not one built in fear or secrecy, not a place I had to hide my children in, but a real nursery. Safe. Warm. Sunlit. The kind I used to dream about when I was pregnant and thought the world would welcome my twins with open arms.Instead of the arms of the cold wilderness.Morris’s staff had outdone themselves. The room was painted in soft cream and pale gold, with hand-carved shelves shaped like crescent moons along the walls. A plush white rug covered most of the floor, and in the center stood two new cribs, sturdy and elegant, each carved with tiny wolf sigils. A rocking chair rested in one corner, and a cushioned bench in the other.I walked around slowly, touching things almost reverently.“It looks perfect,” I said.As soon as the words left my mouth, the staff, who had been waiting in the hallway, began streaming inside with the rest of the equipment. A double stroller, soft blankets, little

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   Chapter Fifty Four: Confessions of Perfection

Morris’s POVThe second her lips smashed into mine the last bit of self control shed off my body. Just as I cupped her face our kiss became violent, or rather more passionate. I have dreamt of this moment for so long. I have always imagined what her lips tasted like, I knew they would be sweet but I never thought they would be this sweet. It was something in between the flavors of vanilla and chocolate, a flavor so addictive that I could lose my senses. My tongue infiltrated her mouth, exploring the wonders of her insides while our tongues fought for dominance. But her mouth was not the only thing I wanted to explore. I wanted to explore all of her, every inch, every curve and every edge. For the longest time I have wanted to know what she truly felt like. But a part of me felt guilty because she was carrying the children of another man. I wanted to fuck her without the fear of harming her or kids. But now that those children are out of her, I can claim her completely. And I was no

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   Chapter Fifty Three: Never Letting Go

Sharon’s POVThe look Morris shot me as he stepped into my room was one that could have easily broken me. He looked at me like I had just stabbed him in the heart without an ounce of remorse.I suppose seeing my kids tucked under my arms with two traveling bags by my side was not exactly what he expected after being told I needed to speak with him.“We are leaving.”The silence that followed after my words was deafening. I started to wonder if he had heard me at all.At least, until he responded. “Leaving? Where exactly?” He asked, shutting the door slowly behind me before walking further into the room. And he did that slowly and with eyes filled with confusion. Like he was approaching a bomb he had no idea how to disable.“I know we have caused you enough trouble. More than what we are worth. The plan was to stay until I got back on my feet and figured out what to do with myself. But the truth is,” I paused, biting down on my bottom lip. “I don’t think I can ever figure out anything
