The Lunaris pack had just withstood the most devastating attack. Buildings had been burnt and destroyed, it lay in ruins. They had lost a lot of warriors. As Isabella walked through it all, her heart was heavy. They had defended their home with everything they had and yet it lay in ruins. Lives lost and families left to begin to pick up the pieces of their lives again from scratch. The healers did their best to attend to everyone who needed attending to, but even they were beginning to be exhausted as they worked tirelessly round the clock.
The attack had been too precise to be taken at face value. As far as she was concerned it wasn't a random attack. She believed it wasn't a rogue attack. They are dealing with a much greater and powerful enemy. She searched immediately for her father and found him at the central post near the pack's entry. He was with some of his best warriors. His posture was rigid, as he stood looking for survivors. She walked up to her father with slow but deliberate steps. “Did you notice anything unusual about the bodies?” Isabella began, her fathers face darkened immediately. “Now is not the time, Isabella.” She didn't mind her father's dismissal but went ahead to make her father pay attention to what she was drawing his attention to. These wolves were definitely not acting of their own will. He looked sharply at her but before he could respond, a sudden wave of nausea came over Isabella. In that instant she noticed she could also hear distant voices from afar as if it was right in front of her. She turned in the direction of the voices, they were secrets being whispered but she could hear them clearly. Her father watched her, concern clearly written on his face. Isabella tried to make sense of what was happening to her at the moment but she couldn't, all she knew was that she definitely wasn't feeling good at the moment. Her father immediately sent for the best pack healer. As soon as she came, she ordered that Isabella be taken to her hut immediately. Lydia Ravenshades' hut smelled of herbs, the small lighting providing enough light for the small hut. Isabella didn't like the look in her eyes when she examined her, as it meant that something terrible was wrong with her. When Isabella couldn't bear the way she was looking at her with so much fear, she just said to her. “Say it.” Lydia hesitated a bit and Isabella, not comfortable anymore with the silence and wanting to get whatever it was over, shouted at Lydia to say whatever it was. “You need to sit down” Lydia said “I won't” Isabella snapped “Just tell me.” The silence stretched, heavy and suffocating. Then Lydia exhaled, her voice low. “You’re pregnant.” Lydia said. Isabella was shocked to hear that she was pregnant. She didn't even want to believe it. “This cannot be possible” she thought in her heart. She looked at Lydia questioning her with her looks and Lydia nodded her head understanding exactly what Isabella was silently asking. Her hands began to shake, she held unto the table as everywhere seemed to be spinning at the moment. “No Lydia, it can't be possible. At that moment it all began to make sense to her. Her fight with Tristan in the woods, the Blood Moon and the strange connection. Her heightened senses, the vision, the child, The Pure Alpha. Her knees almost gave way but she held on tightly to the table to help keep her balance. Lydia stepped closer calling out to her. “Isabella” Isabella shook her head. “No.” She couldn’t be carrying the child from the prophecy. Isabella was truly afraid for the first time in her life as she didn't know how she was going to explain this. Isabella paced in her room, the fire that was lit in the hearth in her room did nothing to calm the chilly feeling she was experiencing inside of her. She paused close to the window, looking outside and wondering how she was going to cope with this new status as the only thing she had known all her life was how to be a warrior. Now, all that is about to change. Her only weapon had been her strength as she had battled against the odds to prove herself worthy to her packmates and had earned their respect but this battle was one she didn't have the slightest idea how to fight. As she placed her hands on her stomach she knew that this child growing inside of her, The Pure Alpha was already rewriting her fate. She also wondered what her father's reaction would be if he hears that she's pregnant. She knew the answer already, he would see the child as a threat. As a stain on the pack’s honor, and Tristan, she shivered as thoughts of what they had shared began to form in her head. Her breath seized at the thought of him. Did he know? Could he feel the same pull that she did? Or Maybe he had forgotten about her. Isabella had never feared anything in her life, as a warrior she always knew what to expect but this is completely different. Just then she heard the sound of fast paced marching along the hallway outside the room and suddenly her door was flung open, it was her father. From the moment Lydia had told her she was pregnant, she had dreaded this moment of confrontation with her father. As he stormed inside the room fuming with anger. “Isabella” he shouted His eyes blazed with fury and Isabella didn't need anyone to tell her that her father already knew and that a storm was about to erupt.Very early the next morning, t. Time when the city was still asleep. Lyon was awake in his room. He walked out to his balcony. The light of dawn was just about to come awake. He had done it all. He had handed over leadership to Kael and hoped that he had done the right thing. Everywhere was completely quiet except for the occasional sounds of the crickets and birds that were coming awake with dawn.As usual, like every other day since he had fought the final battle, his heart was full of deep thoughts. He didn't know why, but he just had the feeling that there was so much more to the prophecy that he was yet to understand. His journey as the Pure Alpha had been a very long one filled with so many burdens he had borne. He had lost his father in the process. He had encountered betrayal from loyal allies and had conquered them all….but something in him kept telling him that this was just the beginning. He had given up his position as the Alpha and didn't need to think so much about anyt
The werewolf kingdom was experiencing peace as we promised to them in the prophecy. Lyon had led them to the future that was promised. A new and united kingdom, free of dark forces and their kind were now free from the fear of extinction. Everything had returned back to normal. Every curse was broken. The people had carried on with their daily activities like nothing happened. All the packs were beginning to return to their locations and pack territories. The ones that had lost their Alpha in the course of the battles were free to choose their new Alpha. But still with everything falling in place, Lyon still felt like there was something else. He didn't know why he was having the thought. Life has returned to normal and the prophecy has finally been fulfilled so he didn't see any need for him to be worried anymore. Yet, he still had his own worries. “Maybe it's because I've been used to years of battles,” he thought. He had done all that needed to be done but still, he could feel the
The kingdom was at peace once again and every pack had begun to rebuild with the help of their respective Alphas. Lyon had addressed the people the day before and he had left them all to begin to rebuild their packs. He stood watching the members of his own pack as he had finally brought about the unity of all the packs. Life had once again returned to normal. Children were running around playing. Even the air smelled of fresh flowers. The kingdom had been restored but in all of the life that had returned, Lyon still felt left out in his own kingdom. He stood watching everyone from the balcony of his bedroom. For once in months he could see a beautiful sight of the streets that were now clean, and the rivers shining under the bright morning sun. And still he was missing something. Lyon had only been about the kingdom for as long as he could remember. Each day, for years, had been filled with duty for the kingdom. He was either always planning for one attack or the other, or battling
There was a strange kind of peace in the kingdom the next day. The signs of the war could still be seen on the streets. The people though were more relaxed now than before. There were remains of burnt buildings. They were the reminders of battles fought and won. Even the battlefield had begun to slowly show signs of growth. All the land and its people were starting to heal. The activities were livelier than usual although there were still a few occasions where the events of the past made them seem like they were holding back.Lyon stood in the royal gardens, observing the activities and looking round the kingdom. He could still feel the power in him strongly. It was a connection that he could never break free from. It was what tied him forever to the kingdom, the people and the land. He had made the ultimate sacrifice to save and protect it.He had this feeling of emptiness inside of him. Even though he had given everything for the peace of the werewolf kingdom. He still didn't think
There was an unnatural stillness as Lyon stepped outside into the night. It was something he hadn't seen before. Not even the sound of insects chirping could be heard or the whispers of the wind in a normal evening night could be felt. Everywhere was too quiet and it told Lyon only one thing. That something dark was lurking in the darkness. The earth he stood on was vibrating and Lyon could feel it like the earth's heart was beating. And he was feeling it because he had become one with the land. From the time of his birth, Lyon had never been one of big dreams as his path had been chosen by fate. All he had wanted to do was to protect the kingdom, live peacefully in a land that flourished and have beautiful pups with his love Elora. As he thought about her, his wolf stirred within him and Lyon wondered if that was a sign that things could still be as it was between them. Now, every dream that he had, seemed to have been cut short the moment he had made the choice to protect the kingd
The moon shone bright in the sky that evening. Lighting every part of the kingdom. They had fought terrible battles and they were all confident that it was over. They had battled against all and survived. They had gotten victory even though it hadn't come without a cost. Every force of darkness had been defeated and the curse that had plagued Lyon's bloodline for centuries had been finally broken. And now the werewolf kingdom had a chance at a peaceful future. The wolves of the kingdom gathered in the hall and began to celebrate. Music blaring from every corner of the kingdom. They danced and laughed as they knew they could finally breathe now. Even the air smelled of victory. They were safe now. At least that's what they told themselves. But Lyon wasn't in a celebration mood at all as his mind was elsewhere. There was a dreadful feeling in his heart. He was most definitely in another world with his thoughts. He had given his all to the kingdom. Even his soul. He was a part of the kin
