Tristan woke up suddenly, he was sweating profusely. The dream had felt too real. He got out of bed rubbing a hand on his head as he tried to make sense of the dream or vision, whatever it could be called. In it he had seen a child, his eyes too bright, his voice too strong. A child that called to something deep inside him. He swung his legs over the edge of the makeshift bed he’d claimed for himself, his muscles tensed as he tried to shake the feeling off, but it wouldn’t leave.
He wasn’t the kind of man to dwell on such things. He was a rogue, he answered to no one and didn't play by any rules. He was a man who didn't believe power was given by fate but that it had to be taken. And yet, his fists clenched. He had felt something in that vision, something that had unsettled him. Just then there was a knock on his makeshift cabin door. It was his second in command, Maddox. “Tristan, what happened to you? You look like someone who just saw a ghost” he said, noticing the expression on his face. As he stepped in, he gazed intently at Tristan “Nightmares?” Tristan scoffed. “Do I look to you like someone who has nightmares?” Maddox looked at him as if he wanted to say something but decided not to. “We have to move immediately,” he said. The packs are restless. “Seems your rendezvous with Alpha Leclair's daughter is going before you” he said with a smirk on his face. Immediately Tristan began to relieve in his mind the memory of their fight together and the strange connection between them and what they had shared afterwards. And now strangely, this dream. The vision of a child, his jaw tightened. He turned away from Maddox, moving toward the worn trunk at the edge of the room. He flipped it open, searching through the old books and scraps of information he had collected over the years and then he found it. A leather-bound text, old and frayed at the edges. Maddox frowned. “What’s that?” Tristan didn’t answer. His eyes scanned the page and immediately the words he was looking for seemed to jump out at him as if they had been waiting for this moment. “A Pure Alpha shall rise, born of two who should never be." His stomach twisted. Because for the first time in his life, Tristan felt the pull of fate and he hated it cos it's something he has never believed in. Isabella stood before her father in his chambers as the morning sun drifted into the room. Her father looked intently at her, his face unreadable. She had told him everything, the fight with the rogue Alpha, the vision and the undeniable connection she felt to it. He had listened in silence and now he simply watched her, as if weighing whether her words even deserved acknowledgment. Finally, he sighed. “Isabella.” She braced herself for what was to come. “You are a warrior and should not bother yourself with such fairy tales” Isabella could not believe that after everything she had sacrificed her father still thought less of her. “It wasn’t just a dream!” She took a step closer, frustration flaring to life inside her. “The Blood Moon is different this time and you know that. I’m not the only one who felt it.” Her father looked angrily at her as he shouted. “Enough of all this your nonsense talk about dreams and prophecy” his voice echoing through the room “You have been trained as a warrior to protect the pack and not to see dreams and visions” Isabella refused to be intimidated by her father's outburst as she said. “And what if the dreams and visions as you call it are real?” Her father's expression hardened. “Then I do not think that it is your duty to concern yourself with such and I will not entertain the idea that my own daughter would be foolish enough to believe that she's connected to some stupid ancient prophecy.” The words hit harder than she expected. Her father had never entertained the thought of her leading. She knew that already but it still hurts her each time she hears him say it. “And if I am?” her father was silent and then without warning he said “Then you are even more foolish than I thought initially.” At that point it became clear to Isabella that she would never get her father's approval and whatever truth she wanted to know, she would have to find it herself. Meanwhile somewhere, at the center of a vast stone wall stood Edmund Drake. He was a very tall man whose presence alone made even the most deadly warriors uneasy. A man whose soul has long stopped caring about humanity. The moment the Blood Moon had risen, he had felt the energy and immediately sent his creatures to capture the girl and even though they had failed, that attack was just a small test compared to what was to come especially now that he knows she's carrying The Pure Alpha. He had spent years trying to change the course of nature and now the prophecy was unfolding before his very eyes . He smiled coldly as he said to himself “The child will be mine,” his voice barely above a whisper. His loyal followers lurked in the shadows watching their master knowing that they dared not speak unless they are spoken to. He turned to the only woman in their midst, she was the most ruthless amongst them. “Prepare the others,” he commanded. “We will strike as soon as the time is right” with her head slightly bowed she asked “What about the Alpha's daughter?” He smiled devilishly, a smile devoid of warmth but full of dangerous thoughts. “She will be mine soon”There was an unnatural stillness as Lyon stepped outside into the night. It was something he hadn't seen before. Not even the sound of insects chirping could be heard or the whispers of the wind in a normal evening night could be felt. Everywhere was too quiet and it told Lyon only one thing. That something dark was lurking in the darkness. The earth he stood on was vibrating and Lyon could feel it like the earth's heart was beating. And he was feeling it because he had become one with the land. From the time of his birth, Lyon had never been one of big dreams as his path had been chosen by fate. All he had wanted to do was to protect the kingdom, live peacefully in a land that flourished and have beautiful pups with his love Elora. As he thought about her, his wolf stirred within him and Lyon wondered if that was a sign that things could still be as it was between them. Now, every dream that he had, seemed to have been cut short the moment he had made the choice to protect the kingd
The moon shone bright in the sky that evening. Lighting every part of the kingdom. They had fought terrible battles and they were all confident that it was over. They had battled against all and survived. They had gotten victory even though it hadn't come without a cost. Every force of darkness had been defeated and the curse that had plagued Lyon's bloodline for centuries had been finally broken. And now the werewolf kingdom had a chance at a peaceful future. The wolves of the kingdom gathered in the hall and began to celebrate. Music blaring from every corner of the kingdom. They danced and laughed as they knew they could finally breathe now. Even the air smelled of victory. They were safe now. At least that's what they told themselves. But Lyon wasn't in a celebration mood at all as his mind was elsewhere. There was a dreadful feeling in his heart. He was most definitely in another world with his thoughts. He had given his all to the kingdom. Even his soul. He was a part of the kin
The moon Goddess visit didn't make it any easier for Lyon, instead, it made Lyons' burden heavier. He couldn't sleep all through the night. As he stood pacing to and fro in his room, the feeling of something to come was still there. Only this time, it had to do with the choice he had to make. A choice that would shape the future of the kingdom. And that was the real test he was to battle this time.Lyon began to think back in time. How his life had been up till now. How he had led the people to unity as the Pure Alpha with the help of his father and mother and their trusted allies. “Lyon,” he heard Elora’s voice. Lyon could sense that she was worried. “You don't look like you've slept much, Lyon,” she said. “Is something wrong?”He didn't answer her immediately, he just looked on into the horizon. He couldn't take his mind off the thoughts about the kingdom and the sacrifice he needed to make. Was it going to be enough? Would it end the battles with the dark forces?. Lyon wanted answ
ReturnThe battle, though fierce, was finally over. Lyon, Elora, Seraphina, Kael and the warriors returned to the pack. They had not needed to shift at all for this battle. Isabella quickly ran out as she saw them. It hadn't been easy for her, just waiting for them and not doing anything about the battle.“I'm glad you guys are back in one piece,” she said, as she stepped out to meet them. She began barking orders at the maids to prepare water for them to wash and food to eat.All through the evening, everyone noticed that Lyon and Elora only had eyes for each other.“I think we should give them space,” Isabella said to Seraphina. And they both quietly left and headed to their own rooms.“Where's everyone?” Elora asked as she suddenly realized they were alone. “Maybe it's for the best,” Lyon said with a smirk on his face. He placed his hand on her back. His touch sends shivers down Elora's skin. Not from cold but from the warmth of the love that was so evident in his eyes.“You are m
The figure suddenly disappeared just the way it had appeared. Lyon was short of words as he didn't use what the figure had meant when it said “the power was his to wield.” Lyon suddenly became cold as he didn't realize he'd come this far. The pull he felt was so strong.Meanwhile, Elora had been to his room and found out he wasn't there. She began to be worried.“Have you seen Lyon? Elora asked Isabella, as she walked by the corridor.“No, I haven't,” Isabella replied. “I was actually on my way to his room. Isn't he in his room?”“I'm just coming from his room and he isn't there. We were together a few minutes ago and he said he needed some time to himself so I left,” Elora said. “where could he have gone to?”“I think we should assemble the guards to go look for him,” Elora said. But before Isabella could respond, they saw Lyon walking towards them.“Where the hell have you been? We've been looking all over the palace for you,” Isabella said.Lyon didn't respond immediately. He just
The bond that Lyon now felt with the kingdom, made his heart heavy as he was only out to fight off the curse but now, he had ended up with something much more heavier. The responsibilities that came with being the Pure Alpha, felt too much for him to carry. All his life he had been battling to save the kingdom. He hadn't had one moment to spare himself and yet the people he leads, at the slightest instance, are more than ready to go against him.All these were the thoughts running through Lyons mind as he stood on the balcony of his room, staring at all of the kingdom.Even the air felt heavy this early morning as he let it wash over his troubled heart. Now his responsibilities for the kingdom have gone way beyond just being their leader. And now, he wasn't just their leader, he was both their protector and eternal guardian.Just then, he heard Elora's voice. “Lyon, you have been in a very foul mood for days now,” Elora said. She always knew when something was on his mind.“You are aw
