Forgiveness

Atlas' POV

I was so stupefied by what Atlene said that I couldn't find the words to reply him immediately. Instead I just stood there staring at him. Atlene looked determined. I could tell that he really wasn't planning on letting Scarlett go.

"Rest well brother", I told him before getting up from the bed and leaving the room.

I didn't know what else to say to him. There was nothing else I could say. Not to his declaration of love for Scarlett or to his accusations that I couldn't actually let her go. Because some part of me knew that he was right. I couldn't just let go of Scarlett. And whenever the thought that she probably had feelings for Atlene crossed my mind, it hurt me, I had to admit.
