CHAPTER 3

The conversation between her and Dino did not happen because she immediately filed for a leave from work for three days. It was good and it was approved right away, so she just left for Manila all of a sudden.

Her alibi to her parents was that she had to attend a last-minute lecture in Manila. Dino, on the other hand, keeps calling her but she doesn't answer. Dino can't go to her right away because he's at work. She took advantage of that since she no longer wanted to interact with him anymore.

She went to Manila to meet with Sheena. Sheena was a classmate and friend since elementary school. They only separated when Sheena got to work in Manila last year.

For a long time, her friend has pleaded with her to go to Manila so that she can go sight-seeing and explore at night. In fact, she urged her once more to come spend a week with her in Manila so that she might experience the nightlife at least once before getting married. It was a good thing this time that she didn't immediately decline her invitation.

Sheena was even surprised when she suddenly called to say she would visit her. She also just found out that she has stopped working since she's living with her old boyfriend. Sheena was even very happy when she picked her up at the terminal.

Sheena was instantly informed of everything when they arrived at the condo the girl's boyfriend had provided. Sheena knew Dino and Mhariel and was also invited to her wedding.

"Oh, girl! Your crying won't do anything. Just be grateful you weren't married when you discovered their infidelity!"

She didn't even consider her friend compassionate. Sheena took a glass and filled it with wine without any more stirring. Sometimes she was just surprised by this friend of his because she was so different from what she had known before.

She also forced herself to stop sobbing because she realized Sheena was not really going to be able to comfort her. Even though she offered her wine, she declined. 

"There is only one way to forget for a while and then get revenge somehow." Sheena abruptly announced that she would keep pouring wine.

She was intrigued, so she wiped her face and looked at her. Sheena smiled at her before answering.

"Take a date! After all, you're here to temporarily forget about their infidelity, right? The adage "tooth for tooth" comes to mind. Replicate what he did to you."

All she did was shake her head. She got to her feet and joined her there. She was still being held by her friend.

"No, I'm not joking. It's just fitting that you come see me since tomorrow night I was meant to go on a blind date, but Arthur, my love, called to tell me that his flight from Singapore back to the Philippines was early. Good. Simply put, I haven't rejected the guy yet. Simply go on a blind date rather than me." She seemed to be still excited as her eyes continued to sparkle.

She was surprised to hear it. Is she still going on blind dates even though she already has a boyfriend? In her eyes when she looked at her friend, there was no denying that question.

"What do you have to say? You seem to have just been born. Arthur is married, so he only visits me when he can elude his wife. Why would I allow myself to get lost in this place? Naturally, I always require a fallback." She kept laughing.

Even though she didn't agree with what she was doing, she gently laughed as well.

But who is she to condemn Sheena?

Despite how brilliantly she teases her, she continues to reject the woman. She soon received a call. When she realized Mhariel was calling, she scowled. After the incident, it was only now that she was able to speak with her over the phone.

Did she call to offer her an apology? She resisted accepting it. Even Sheena had started to peep.

"The bi-atch is calling, hmm. Oh, well, you chat to our charming friend and I'll go to my room first." Sheena said in a mocking tone.

Sheena rose and walked away. She answered the phone before Sheena left. Mhariel was ahead of her even before she had a chance to speak.

"Back out of your wedding. Don't try to bring everything back to normal. Dino and I seem to have affection for one another. Just because he feels bad about you, I know he can't say it."

What? She still thought she was going to apologize, so she answered the phone. She had been a friend for a long time, and she considered her a sister. Even though what happened was painful, she unconsciously gave Mhariel a chance to explain.

But what did she say now?

"Yaz, cancel the wedding!" She appears to be merely giving her commands.

She was unable to talk due to her annoyance. She simply hung up the phone and stood up, wearing a serious attitude. She went to Sheena's chamber. She didn't even knock; she just unlocked Sheena's room since she was so irritated at Mhariel. As she lay on the bed, Sheena gave her a startled expression.

"What time is your date tomorrow?" That's what she immediately asked her.

Sheena grinned at what she had just heard.

"That's more like it!" Then Sheena stood up and excitedly opened the cabinet containing her clothes.

"Tomorrow at eight o'clock. I'll find clothes for you because we have this theme for each other since we didn't send pictures of each other to have a mystery effect."

Sheena's words no longer received much attention from her. Her thoughts lingered on Mhariel's remarks. Although she was aware that rebelling would only make her a loser, she no longer cared.

"Oh, my! You're going to dress like this, huh?"

Sheena approached her, carrying a red dress that was still hung on the rack. She picked up the dress carelessly and gave it a quick glance. She could see it was extremely tight and revealing for her with just one glance. She also noticed that the dress's chest had too little cloth. She hadn't measured it yet, but she already knew it would highlight her heavenly breasts.

"Yaz, pretend to be somebody else for just one night. Forget that you're Yazmin, who is modest and conservative. I can tell you that doing this will help you regain your confidence." Sheena added immediately when she was hesitating about the sexy dress.

The steaming scene between Dino and Mhariel came back to her mind, as well as what Mhariel had previously told her.

She totally removed the clothing without uttering a word.

What if she plays the part of a different kind of lady for one night only?

When Sheena noticed the look on her face, a smile appeared on her lips.
