Deandra's POV

Daniel was waiting for me when I got back.

“Where were you?” He fired as soon as I walked into the room, but I ignored him, my mind swirling with thoughts of that mystery man and just how much he knew about my life with Daniel.

“I’m talking to you,” Daniel yelled, and I scoffed, rising to my feet to acknowledge him.

“You shouldn’t take that tone of voice with me, especially since you’re at fault.”

At my words, he frowned, but I wasn’t going to give him time to construct words that would soothe my mood like he always did. I pulled the pictures out from my phone, thanking the stars I had bothered to save them.

“How could you do this to us?” I screamed, throwing the phone against his chest.

He caught it and stared at the screen, surprise evident on his face.

“How did you…?” How long have you known?”

I scoffed and shook my head. How was that the most important question right now? “Is that all you’re going to say about that?” I asked him, the disgust I was feeling evident in my voice.

I expected him to be sober and sorry for what he had done, but instead he was acting like he had done a good thing.

He sighed. “I didn’t mean for you to find out this way,” He tried to look concerned for me, but I wasn't buying it. “Hope is pregnant for me, and I am sorry I didn’t tell you earlier, but you were already stressed with not having kids of your own; I didn’t want to put that on you.”

“But it was okay to sleep with her because it wouldn’t stress me?”

Daniel scoffed and rose to his feet. “Look, Deandra, I’m sorry you had to find out this way about Hope, but I don’t see this as a bad thing. If anything, Hope is giving us a chance to be parents since you…” He trailed off, but I heard the words he didn’t say loud and clear. Since I couldn’t have children.

It was laughable because standing there looking at him, I was carrying his child, and he didn’t even know it. The joke was on him.

“I need you to start seeing Hope as a sister. Take care of her like you’d take care of Cassie. I didn’t mean for things to happen this way, but now that they have, there’s nothing I can do about it.

We simply have to find a way to coexist as one big family. Besides, my mother is so excited for her grandchild.”

I rolled my eyes; of course, Yolanda was excited.

“Where does that leave us, Daniel?” I asked the million-dollar question, and he stood there staring at me, his mouth opening and closing without words coming out.

“I don’t…” he started to say at the same time I opened my mouth to announce the pregnancy, but we were both interrupted by a hasty knock on the door.

“Come in,”

A maid walked into the room, her steps hasty, and I frowned.

“What is it?”

“I am so sorry to disturb you, Luna, Alpha, but Miss Hope sent me to find you,“ she spoke, turning to face Daniel.

“She’s in a lot of pain and might have to go to the hospital.”

“The baby, something is wrong with the baby,” he whispered and ran out of the room, the maid following him from a distance before I got the chance to ask any further questions.

Tears pricked my eyes, but I held them at bay, refusing to give in to my emotions. They would never see me weak. It’s my fault anyway, and perhaps if I had just told him that I was also carrying his child, then maybe he’d be just as concerned for my well-being.

Despite how badly I wanted to stay strong, a few stray tears slipped past my defenses and rolled down my cheeks. I sighed and slumped on the bed, giving in to them. The sobs racked my body, and my heart broke even more with each tear that fell.

I was distracted by the sound of footsteps in the room, indicating that someone else had joined me. Wiping my eyes clean discreetly, I rose to my feet and frowned when I saw who it was.

“Hope? But I thought….”

She didn’t give me time to finish before she lunged at me, grabbing me by my hair and forcing me to rise to my feet so she didn’t pull my hair out. “Don’t you feel embarrassed to be living here still when you can’t even have children? Aren’t you ashamed?”

I managed to set my hair free from her clutches and stood straight, glaring at her. I didn’t want to have to put my hands on her, but if she forced my hand, then….

“Hope, what is the meaning of this? I thought you were in pain.”

“Leave here already, go so Daniel and I can live like a family with our child. Your presence is suffocating.”

I chuckled bitterly and glared at her. “Aren’t you ashamed that you had to get pregnant to trap my husband? Don’t you feel embarrassed that he wouldn’t have come to you otherwise?”

My words got to her, and I smirked, glad I had hurt her even just a tiny bit. “I am going to tolerate you for Daniel’s sake, but don’t get too comfortable; pregnancies can be lost.” I reminded her as I started to walk away.

“You bitch, did you just threaten my child?”

She tried to reach for me, but I swerved out of the way in time, and she missed me, her hands falling to her side. She glared at me and made a move to leave, but then we heard footsteps; no doubt it was Daniel coming to find Hope, who was supposed to be in pain.

“He will always pick me over you, watch,“ and she fell to the ground without being pushed and screamed.

I gasped, watching the scene before me in confusion. What did she think she was doing?

“Deandra, what happened?” Daniel asked, his voice full of concern for me, until he saw Hope on the ground and his countenance changed. “Did you push her?” And without waiting for a response, he continued.

“How could you do that, Andra, knowing that she’s pregnant?”

I watched in disbelief as he bent down to pick her up from the ground with Hope faking an injury.

I felt tears filling my eyes again, but I forced them back, not wanting them to see how much their actions were affecting me.

“She threatened to harm our child. All he did was ask her to accept me as her family.” Hope cried, resting her head against his chest as she faked a sob.

I shook my head, not believing the events that were playing out here right before my eyes. Was Daniel falling for this? She wasn’t that good an actress.

“I am so disappointed in you, Andra, so disappointed.” He whispered, and the tone of his voice nearly broke my resolve, but I held it in, refusing to give in to my emotions no matter how hurtful his words were.

They were like little knives piercing my heart, and yet I refused to give in.

“If you don’t start seeing Hope as part of our family, I will have no choice but to kick you out to protect my child.” I stared at him with a shattered heart.

I would keep the baby but definitely leave him. My exit plan would be epic.

I'm sorry but if I was her I would not want to be connected to anyone after they cheated on me. I would rather split up and not have the baby.

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 192

Writer’s POV It’s been two weeks already, and there was nothing from Ryder yet. He was yet to regain consciousness, and his situation was getting scarier as the doctors were not hopeful about his situation. Instead, they kept talking about hoping for a miracle because he had little or no chance of survival. “Our kids are growing faster than I imagined.” Andra said to the unconscious body lying on the bed. She would always come to update him on everything going on in the pack and how things are running smoothly with the help of Daniel and Hope, who have stayed by her side all this while. “You know you’re beginning to scare me. It’s been weeks already; you need to wake up already.” Andra said and started crying uncontrollably. She was trying her best to hold in the tears, but she just couldn’t. She couldn’t keep pretending to be fine, and she hasn’t been able to eat well since he became unconscious. “You need to see your kids; you need to be with me and make up for lost times.

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 191

Writer’s POV That day that the war happened and the kids were brought back, it was later realized that Leo was the one holding the kids, and the only reason why he came back into her life was because he needed to monitor their search, and Aliya told him everything, not knowing that he was the one doing everything. She felt like she betrayed Andra, and her brother was in the mix, and Andra warned her not to accept her brother back. She just couldn’t believe that she didn’t worsen the whole thing, which is why she chose to stay far from Andra, and since then she never called or texted. “I caused it.” Hope said a little above a whisper. Andra walked closer to her the moment she heard what Hope said. “No, don’t say that, Hope. At that time you didn’t think what you were doing was wrong, and don’t forget you tried apologizing to her, but she still chose to leave for her own peace. I know that with time she would come around and find a place in her heart to forget about the past a

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 190

Writer’s POV “Daniel, you would go back there and tell them that you are not making any peace. Have you forgotten what his mother made us go through? Have you forgotten how your father favored him more than you? This is the time for you to get back everything and make him pay for your sufferings. “Mom, stop! Can’t you see that I’m at peace now? The people are happy; we don’t need war to be at peace with ourselves. Can’t you see that I’m happy now?” Daniel asked his mother who was being insensitive about the whole thing. “What are you saying, Daniel? Can’t you see he is successfully using your head? He wants you to give up everything your father worked hard to keep for you.” When Yolanda said this, Daniel turned to look at her. “I told you that day your dad said you have to promise him that you will take good care of the pack and keep his legacy.” Yolanda smiled; she just wanted to get to his head and make him stop thinking of giving up his desire of becoming the Alpha of the Da

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 189

Deandra POV It felt like my heart was burning as I was crying upstairs. I didn’t know how to feel after what I heard Yvonne say; it was just a roller coaster of emotion piling up everything that has happened over the month. I really wanted to disappear and go far away. After crying for a while in the room, I was feeling better. I felt better that I had let out everything that was bothering me; I was relieved to see that my heart was getting lighter. I stood up from the place I was sitting and headed to the kids' wardrobe. Their clothes are still smelling new. They never got the chance to wear them. It’s been months now, and I don’t know anything about my kids; I don’t know if they are okay or not. Instead, I went to live with the people that took my kids away. When I was feeling better, Ryder walked into the room. I removed my face from where he was and folded my hands around my chest angrily. I was pissed with him. I still can’t forgive him for all the horrible things that

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 188

Writer’s POV While Andra was still looking at the picture, a call came in. She saw how it was saved, so she didn’t hesitate to pick it. “Don’t you dare prank me about falling ill; you have done it before.” Hope said to Andra while she was with Emma’s phone. Andra couldn’t believe Hope was talking to her mother like that. She was relieved to know that Emma was not lying when she said her daughter doesn’t want her in her life. “You know what? I thought you were going to change. I was ready to give you a second chance after you successfully helped me take the kids, but right now I don’t think I can forgive you because you keep using your fake illness to bring me closer.” Hope scolded on the phone. Andra closed her eyes upon hearing the cold and heartless things Hope was saying over the phone; she couldn’t believe Hope could be this cold to her mother as well. She didn’t want to say anything at first, but Hope kept saying she was lying when she was really struggling with her

  • THE REJECTED LUNA: HER MATE’S REGRET   Chapter 187

Deandra POV I was wondering what it could be. I was so curious that I couldn’t stay in the house for another minute. From the way he sounded, it was a very serious issue, so I was desperately invested in it. I needed to know what it was all about and why I needed to go myself. If it wasn’t as important as he made it seem, he would definitely lose his job. While I was heading out of the house, I suddenly realized that I might not be able to leave the house without Emma asking where I’m headed, and when she asks, what do I tell her? I paused, rushing, and started thinking of what to tell her when I am leaving. After thinking for a while, I decided to just think of anything that pops up in my head at that moment and tell her. “Are you going somewhere?” Emma asked when she saw me downstairs. I stopped in my tracks the moment I heard what she asked me. “I just need to hurry down to get something.” I said to Emma, trying my best to not let her suspect me in any way. “Okay, l
