Elsie POV.....

‎I woke up feeling refreshed and happy. No bad dreams. As you know, what happened between Edward and I was the main reason why I felt so good this morning.

‎Lemme get up, freshen up, look good and go look for my mate. I can't wait for what today holds for me

‎The did everything hastily and went down for breakfast.

‎"Nana Bel, where are my parents and sister"? I asked

‎Nana Bel is our nanny and housekeeper. My father even said she was his nanny when he was young too.

‎"They were sermoned by the Alpha and they asked me to join them after breakfast", she said.

‎mmm - I thought

‎Did the Alpha sermon them because, Edward has told them about us being mates? I was excited in a way and was planning on how to ask for my family's forgiveness as I hid this vital information from them.

‎Not that they won't forgive me but then I will have to coerce my mother and sister especially because I promised to never hide anything from them but look at me, look what love made me do, I laughed

‎I hurriedly ate my breakfast and walked to the Alpha's home happy but a bit shy.

‎Everyone who saw me greeted me and I replied with smiles

‎I even heard whispers like, " She'll be a good Luna" and " mating one's mate makes one glow in another way"

‎I acres like I wasn't hearing their whispers but deep down I was extremely happy, I even think my heard was growing bigger.

‎They respected and loved me because first of all I was the Beta's daughter and I did work hard by winning competitions in high school which caused the name of Bloom Pack to bloom just like it's name, secondly, because I was beautiful and had a lovely personality.

‎I just to the Alpha's office door and knocked once then entered.

‎That was the rule knock once and enter unless you were not sermoned that you'd have to wait for a response.

‎As I entered the office, the atmosphere in the office was kind of off , an atmosphere I didn't expect

‎i tried to look Edward in the face but he just looked uneasy and turned to look at his father immediately as our eyes met.

‎I saw my sister seated, looking anxious too and my parents looking at me sadly.

‎I didn't like how things were looking so, I greeted them one after the other and went straight to the point

‎"Alpha, please I was told you needed my presence", I said feeling strange within.

‎"Yes I did call for you. So Elsie it has come to my notice that you've found your mate and he's Edward right"? he asked

‎My heart jumped with ripples when I heard what the Alpha asked.

‎I smiled and answered , " Yes Alpha, Edward and I found out a week before he left for training. He asked me to be quiet for now as he'd want to tell everybody himself", I said

‎"Well,...I discussed with your parents, sister and Edward and we have come to a conclusion that will help this pack. what is the number one rule of this pack?" he asked

‎"To put the pack first no matter the consequence ", I said feeling strange within

‎" Yes that's right, and we came to a conclusion that, Edward will have to marry your sister as she's pregnant with the heir of Bloom Pack" he dropped his words

‎I felt like I was deaf for some reason so I put my finger in my ear to clear it up a bit and asked, " what does that mean, I don't get it I said".

‎" I know you only found your mate not long ago but you sister is carrying Edward's child in her womb and the first child of the Future Alpha can not be Illegitimate and moreover, you know you aren't a perfect match for Edward as you have not transformed into your wolf yet" he spoke every word audible enough for my assumed deaf ears to hear.

‎I froze, yeah I forgot about that one thing that inspired me to be my possible best. The fact that I could not transform into my wolf. That showed I was weak and cursed in a way

‎When I was young , my family and Edward's family made me feel like I belonged and that inspired me to do my best and like magic it actually helped. When I started winning trophies for the pack and making the pack popular, the pack members and everybody forgot about the fact that I was cursed

‎but now even those who made me feel like I belonged were the one's to expose that scar on me to me.

‎I nodded my heard as tears begun to slip from my eyes. I wanted to hold them in so much but those stubborn pearls decided to come in abundance.

‎My sister was quiet through out this confrontation and Edward just stood there watching me

‎" Elsie we're doing this for the progress of the pack so you have to understand," the Alpha added

‎Mother moved close to me and I stepped back. I felt so betrayed at this point and I couldn't pick or find words to describe my disappointments

‎I wiped my tears and finally looked at Edward, " Was it because of your relationship with Sara that's why you told me to wait till you came back from the training? why did you touch me then when you got back? why!"

‎ I basically looked like someone who has lost it

‎" Elsie it's not like that, Sara was chosen and secretly trained to take the position of my Luna. You know that by twenty five as a future Alpha I'm supposed to have met my mate but if I don't, a Luna must be picked for me and about me touching you, I couldn't help myself, you know what you felt that day and you know how I wasn't myself. If not for the mate bond we felt as a result of not seeing each other for a long time, I wouldn't have touched you." Edward released such words out in an excited tone.

‎i laughed, yeah really hard

‎i see, I see, I see... I said repeatedly

‎Mother I thought we were not supposed to hide anything from each other? so what happened to Sara being the secretly trained Luna

‎Funny how I thought I really mattered,

hahahaha..... I didn't... hahahaha

‎" Elsie I know you're hurt but please try to reason with us" mother said sadly with tears in her eyes

‎" reason with you, would you reason with me if your mate was taken from you by your sister"? I shot back

‎"Did you even see me as your daughter when you made such a beautiful conclusion?"

‎"Enough Elsie, you're not allowed to raise your voice at your mother!" my father shouted

‎" We're doing this for the betterment of the pack. We all had to sacrifice things for the pack...."

‎He didn't even finish talking then I shot back,

‎"Did you have to sacrifice your goddess given mate!..... It can't fucking be the same"

‎"Enough here" the Alpha said as he used his Alpha power to make us all obey

‎" This is how things had to turn out, Sara will marry Edward and you'll have to deny each other so as to allow Edward take Sara as his mate. I don't care whatever your emotions make you feel we should do but for the betterment of the pack this is my order as you do not want to reason with anybody at this point" the Alpha roared out

‎ As the Alpha was finished roaring Elsie's lungs burned.

‎She couldn't breathe.

‎Before anyone could stop her, before she could crumble in front of them, Elsie turned and ran.

‎The corridor stretched endlessly as her heels pounded against the marble floors. The sad calling of her parents and her sister's cry still roared inside her ears like mockery.

She didn't stop until she reached her room, slamming the door shut with shaking hands.

‎The silence that followed was worse.

‎Her knees gave out.

‎She collapsed onto the cold floor, the sob that tore from her chest sounding almost inhuman. Not delicate. Not quiet. It was raw. Broken. Animal.

‎Her wolf howled inside her — not in anger.

‎In mourning.

‎"How could you…" she whispered between gasps, though she didn't know if she meant Edward, her sister… or the Moon Goddess herself.

‎Pregnant?

‎That meant it was real. Permanent. Unchangeable.

‎He wasn't just lost to her.

‎He was building a future.

‎And it didn't include her.

‎Elsie pressed her hand against her chest, as if she could hold her heart together by force. Tears soaked into the fabric of her dress as she cried until her body trembled with exhaustion.

‎Outside her window, the moon slipped behind a cloud.

‎And down the hallway, someone paused outside her door.

‎Listening.

Even after Elsie shut the door behind her, a faint whine from the courtyard lingered in the air. Surprised voices. Arguments. Shock. All of it became hazy into something far away that no longer felt like it belonged to her. With her hand lightly resting against the door as if to ground herself, she stood still for a brief moment in the quiet of her room. Her heart was pounding quickly. Too quickly. But not from fear. Not completely. Before she could even process it fully, she heard footsteps. Quick, determined. The door swung open without a knock. “Elise.” Her father. Her mother sped up quickly after her, her face already tense with worry and something even more intense: fear. After them, Sara stepped in. Also Edward. Elsie didn’t move from where she stood. she ceased speaking. She just slowly turned to face them. The first speaker was her father. He began in a controlled but firm voice, "What you did back there was reckless." Her mother didn't sit around. “Reckless?” She e

Her pulse pounded in her ears, but outwardly, she remained still.Composed and unmoving.“She should accept,” someone muttered, not nearly as quietly as they intended. “It’s the best she’ll ever get.”A low murmur of agreement followed.“What use is she here anyway?”“She can’t even shift.”“She’d be useless in war.”“At least she’d be of value to this pack and there will be no war…”Each word landed.Sharp.Precise.Cruel.Elsie heard them all.Every single one.But strangely...... strange enough...They didn’t hurt the way they used to.Maybe because she had already he

Elsie’s breath caught. There.........standing among the honored guests, surrounded by powerful wolves and visiting leaders, was him. The man from the river. He wasn't like the quiet, almost unreal figure she had seen under the moonlight until this moment. He stood tall in a perfectly tailored dark suit that hugged his broad shoulders and sculpted frame, the fabric moving effortlessly with him as he shifted slightly among the gathering. His presence was commanding and undeniable. The kind that made others instinctively give him space without even realizing it. And his eyes..... Those same silver eyes from across the courtyard, I was chained to hers. The ceremony's noise stopped for a while. The chuckle. The music. The voices. All of it disappeared. Only him, with a fleeting smile that appeared to be a knowing smile on his lips. Elsie turned away quickly, her heart beating much more quickly than it should. It couldn’t be. He said he was a guest. But this This was not how

The Alpha's estate was filled with the sound of celebration. Music. Laughter. Applause. Even our house's quietest areas, it faintly reverberated, reminding everyone that tonight was significant. Tonight, the pack celebrated its Alpha and Luna's mating Elsie sat motionless by her window. She could make out the distant glow of the courtyard's lanterns from her position. Shadows of dancing figures flickered against the walls, and every now and then, a cheer would rise into the night air. Sara and Edward. Their kingship. They celebrated their union. The entire pack was gathered for them. Also, she... She was not expected. Or maybe she had. Elsie was unable to recall. It made no difference. She had no place there.
