The job

Ella's POV

“babe, come and look at this, I have received an email from the company I had applied for a job. It says here that they have already hired me.” Felix says out loud immediately he entered the house. It seemed he was waiting to get home so quickly so he could disclose the good news to me. It was something to celebrate about because I remember he had almost given up. He had sent his resume to almost all the companies that we knew, but not one was interested in hiring him. It was a miracle today because he was already hired.

“Show me babe.” I say as I go towards him.

I remember the previous week, when he was called for an interview. He was not expecting much because he knew he will not be hired. But all that was forgotten now because he had already acquired it.

“Here, check this out, babe.” He gave me his phone and there it was. It was true after all. I could not believe my eyes.

“Oh, thank God, babe. So now we can start saving up for our wedding. The wedding that we have waited for so long now." I say as I give him a tight hug.

We have been dating for five years now, and we finally wanted to settle down and start our family. I loved him and I was confident that I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

“Yes babe, I will finally marry you, my darling.” He says as he kisses me.

Finally our dream was going come true. I can't wait to be called Mrs. Felix Stones. I can't wait to wear that beautiful gown and walk down the aisle. Likewise, I can't wait to go for my honeymoon. I just wanted the day to be here already. I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

“So when are you going to start working?” I ask.

“They told me that I can start on Monday next week. I am so excited, babe.” He says.

I knew him getting this job will be the best thing that could ever happen to him. I know he will give his best. That is why I loved him. He was always so committed, and I know he will do the same at this job.

My name is Ella Mark, twenty-eight years of age. The only daughter of my parents, Stephen Mark and Susan Mark. I was the apple of their eyes.

I met Felix when I was twenty-three years, and we fell in love immediately. It was love at first sight. I remember, I was in my third year at the university. It was my first time meeting him, but we got along really well. It was like he was meant to be mine since day one.

But the day I introduced him to my parents they never agreed with the relationship, they were against it since the first day. When I looked at Felix, he was so perfect. I wondered why they could not accept him.

I had to do everything, including explaining myself to them that he was the one I loved, and he would always be the one. I had to wait, and finally, they decided to try to give him a chance. They even agreed to support us financially with the wedding expenses.

With the salary Felix was going to get, we were going to save for our honeymoon. He wanted us to have a memorable honeymoon.

“Babe, it will not look nice when your father pays for all our wedding expenses and even our honeymoon. I would like to pay for the honeymoon myself. I want your father to see that I can take care of you. Furthermore, I want him to see that I am worthy of his princess.” It was what Felix said to me one time, and we came to an agreement. I had to wait for him. That is why we had not gotten married until now. But now the wait was going to be over. I was so happy.

Felix's POV

Finally, I had gotten the job I always dreamt about. I can't wait any longer. It has always been my dream to be an editor, and now it has finally happened.

I rushed home to tell the good news to Ella, my girlfriend. I loved her so much. She was not my first love, but I think she will be my last. I don't think I can ever love another woman like I love her. I am sure I will never find someone like her. She is one in a million. She is unique.

Despite with all the wealth her father has, she decided to stick with me when I was at my lowest. She has been so patient with me despite me being so poor and jobless. We had to cancel our wedding plans, and she agreed with me. I was so lucky to have her around. She is good for me. Her family was filthy rich and at some point they did not approve of me. I thought Ella would leave me for someone else because of the pressure her family caused. They had always looked down on me because I was poor and jobless. They always thought I was incapable of taking good care of their daughter. Despite all that, she still stood by me and even managed to make her family accept me. I believe she is my better half.

Getting this job is so good for me. Finally, I can achieve what I have always been dreaming of, and the first thing is getting married to Ella.
