I've been sitting on the cold floor for a while now, I've lost track of time. I've just been sitting, emotionless, staring into space.

The tears have stopped, leaving only silence behind. I sat on the floor , unmoving. My mind was blank, I wasn't even thinking, just existing.

And at once everything came rushing back, the betrayal of Isla, the pain from my injuries, my parents rejection.

I didn't scream, I didn't cry, I just stared. Allowing it to eat me up.

The door opened again and Isla walked in. She rushed to June's cell and called to him.

“June, June"

June didn't respond.

“They're saying something but I don't really know what it is. I'm trying to tell my father not to let them harm you….I”

" I, June Moore, reject you Isla Davis as my mate on this day, on the grounds that you're unfit and not worthy of being my mate. May we never be mated or come across each other's paths in this life or the next” June announced in anguish and pain.

My head shot up and I stared at them both.

  • THE REVENGE OF THE WHITE WOLF    CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO

Our eyes locked, one burning with fury and the other steady with a nonchalant kind of calm. We were like a bull and a bullfighter. I was the one taunting the bull with a red flag.I knew I was overstepping, but that was the point. I wasn't ordinary either, they just didn't know who I really was. She was fuming, nostrils flaring as if smoke would spill out any moment. I braced myself for her outburst, ready for the moment she'd claw at me. But rather, she exhaled sharply and walked away without saying a single word.To say I was shocked was an understatement. I had expected rage, her to rushing at me with death in her eyes and claws reaching for my throat. But she didn't.Still, the air simmered with tension, my instincts warning me to leave. But stubbornness anchored me. I wanted to stay and see what she'll do. I'm the white wolf, I wouldn't slink away like a coward.I didn't bother going down for lunch, I was exhausted and needed to lay down. By the time I wake up, I know it'll be d

  • THE REVENGE OF THE WHITE WOLF    CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE

I'd been scrubbing over twenty toilets in this godforsaken building for what felt like an eternity. Over twenty by now. Some were neat and easy, others were so filthy I wondered if animals had used them.“You okay?" Jessica asked, from the doorway.I slowly turned to her with a scowlShe smirked but quickly erased it “I guess not," I spat on the toilet floor and kept scrubbing. Finally, when I stepped out of the bathroom, I gulped down fresh air like I'd been drowning.“How many more filthy toilets do I have to scrub?" I asked, my voice dripping with annoyance.“Just three. Lucky for you, you don't have to wash the Alpha's toilet or the Luna's” she said.I blinked in surprise "Really? Why”I asked"Luna wants someone else to handle it,”she replied, gathering her cleaning supplies.I scoffed. I couldn't decide if I should be relieved that my work had lessened or insulted that Ciara thought me inferior and not worthy enough to clean their stinking waste room.“Less work for me" I mut

  • THE REVENGE OF THE WHITE WOLF    CHAPTER FIFTY

I woke up with a start, it was quiet except for night insects buzzing now and then. But I knew somewhere in this building a meeting was going on, I looked out the window, it was still dark.I climbed out of bed and tiptoed to the door, slowly opening it, careful not to make a sound. The hall was empty and dark. I stepped out quietly and closed the door behind me. Two priorities; one is to not get caught and the other is to find their meeting room. Barefoot, I padded towards the Alpha's office, sniffing as I went, but there was no one there. That's when I realized that this place had far more rooms than I thought. Hallway after hallway stretched out before me, each filled with doors yet still nothing. I decided to head back to the alpha's office, then noticed another stairway just before his office. I climbed cautiously, careful not to cause a creak. At the top, different scents hit me.Jackpot!I followed the trail, passing a massive door that reeked of both Alpha and Luna. I shive

My heart thundered rapidly on my chest as we drove back in silence. I kept praying for them to have found some useless evidence that I might've lived in the human city. I didn't know how that would be possible, but I really needed it to be; if not, I'll have to shift and then cause a fight and escape, which will take me to square zero.Axton has refused to say anything to me, which made me even more suspicious that they didn't find any proof to my story. I finally accepted that I was leaving the pack today. He parked his car, and we went inside without the bags.Although my face remained calm, within me I was panicking. Please, goddess, tell me you somehow made this possible. As usual, I hid behind his back as he led me to the alpha's office, which was opposite the direction of the room I was locked in. The further we went, the darker the walls. We finally came to a wide passage that had three doors, one on both sides and the last one on the end of the passage. Obviously Thane's offic

I hid behind Axton, who was only a few inches taller than me. He had offered to take me to a boutique to get some extra clothes for me. Axton was the one given the duty of keeping an eye on me since he was the one who bought me, which was quite reasonable. He was the spy of the pack, the one in charge of sneaking into other packs or gatherings like a rat to gather useful information. Wasn't mated yet and lived in a quiet cabin a few meters away from the pack house, left to him by his late parents. He was quiet and reserved but knew a lot, which makes him suitable as the pack's spy.As we drove through the town, he kept pointing at buildings and telling me who owns them and what they're for.At one point, I fixed my gaze on him. Thinking about how disappointed he would be when he really gets to know who I am.Just one day and he's already growing fond of me.Too bad, I'll be breaking his heart soon.“Hold on," he suddenly said pausing, realizing something.“You've never spoken to me si

The window was open, a good way to escape but I wasn't going to. I still haven't finished what I came for. Although I didn't expect to be arrested, this was also good. At least it proved that they were more alert than Ember Moon. This was a huge setback, I didn't expect this at all. Thane was right, I am a spy but they wouldn't be able to prove it because I wasn't going to let them to.I had different ideas on what to tell them, I wasn't going to tell them the truth. In this situation, a good lie was needed. The lock clicked and the door opened. Alpha Thane stepped in with his beta, Axel. Their gazes were fierce as if trying to scare me. I realized that if I wanted my story to be believable, I'll have to put aside my pride and the fact that I wasn't scared of anyone. I'll need to start acting scared and fragile, like the homeless person they assumed I was.My gaze locked on Alpha Thane's, I quickly looked away, pretending to be scared. They locked the door behind them, Thane grabbed t
