The village mall was a modest hub of activities. There were small stalls by the corner which consisted of a bakery, a coffee shop and an antique store but in the middle was the huge building, the main mall. The exterior was decorated with earthy tones and rocks to give it that earthy feel. There was a stylish sign outside with ‘TOWN MALL’ boldly written on it. The interior was a huge space filled with products and goods, from clothes to electrical appliances to kitchen utensils and the likes, all arranged in orderly rolls.

After getting a few clothes, I sat down on a bench somewhere just to watch the activities of others in the mall.

“Enjoying the scene?"

I turn around to see June standing beside me, smiling.

“Hey June, what are you doing here?" I ask as he sits beside me.

“I'm here with my dad, we're getting a few things," he shrugs.

We exchanged a few words before an awkward silence crept in. I turned to see June staring at me.

“June, stop staring. It's creepy” I say and he chuckle

I stood and watched from a distance as the soldiers trained, sparring with each other and going through hardcore training sessions. I was tempted to join them, but I didn't; that would give them access to me, and I wasn't interested in being close with any of them.Lucas stood beside me and watched soldiers as well. I felt his eyes on me from time to time. “What is it?" I asked, staring at him. “I'm just curious," he said. “You're respected, but you're cold. I heard you are ruthless and don't hesitate when it comes to killing. But looking at you now, you don't seem like a person to me.”I chuckled dryly. Of course, I look soft, but he'll soon find out I'm not. “Have you ever heard of the saying that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover? I won't overexplain myself because very soon you'll find out that the rumors are true.”“I actually thought the white wolf was an older lady, probably in her mid-20s or 30s, but you're younger than I am,” he said. "Hearing about what your pack did

After Axton had dropped Dani off, he got me some food and began the ride back to my cave.“You were brave back there," I said, looking out the window. He chuckled lightly. “Thank you." “Where did you get that gun? I didn't even know you had one,” I asked, staring at him.He clicked his teeth, staring straight ahead. "Well, we can't always shift when we're in danger,” he said and chuckled, "especially since I live amongst humans. So a gun had to suffice. It's faster and quicker, and they're scared shitless of it. Almost everyone has one.”"Why?” I pressed."Well, people are dangerous,” he replied. "It's their only source of protection except for the cops. Some use it to protect themselves; others use it to cause harm and rob others.”I hummed. "Do you think werewolves need guns?”He glanced at me. "Werewolves have their strengths both in their form and in human form. But like I said, you can't always shift anytime there's danger, so that's where a gun comes in handy. But werewolves do

We had them surrounded. Dani moved to the side and stood behind Axron, watching us carry out our business. Axton quickly whispered something in her ear, and she nodded."Now we have just a few questions to ask, and you're going to answer them," Axton said in a grave voice. “The faster you answer them, the earlier you leave. And you better not lie." “Do you think we're scared of your little toy?” one of the men asked, stepping forward."You might not be afraid of it," Axton said. “But I won't hesitate to use it on you if you step out of line. I mean that.”"Alright, alright,” the woman among them spoke and pushed the first man aside. "What do you want?”"Who are you guys?” Axton asked."What sort of question is that?” She counter-asked."Why did you place a bounty on the white wolf?” He asked."We want her,” she replied, laughing. "She's a legend, right? Imagine how precious she is. Now, is she here or what?”I snuck behind her and wrapped my arms around her neck. The others made to r

We arrived at the first gas station, which had a mini mart. We went in as if to get some stuff. While my eyes roamed around the goods on the shelf, Axton put a call through to Dani.“She's halfway here," Axton said as he approached me."Mmm,”” I hummed in return."Aries, we need to talk about this," he said.I sighed and turned to him. “What?" "Err, excuse me, do you plan on getting anything?" The salesman asked as he stood a few feet from us.Axton growled in frustration and grabbed a bag of chips, then walked towards the sales counter. “I'd like to check this out." I walked towards them with a bottle of water and pushed it towards the salesman. He looked from me to Axton and then back. “Should I add the charge…?" "Yes, yes, add it." Axton snapped.Axton stretched a bill to the salesman and handed me the water back. He led me out of the store and towards the car."Get in," he said, and I obeyed. He got in through the other side and faced me. “Aries…please forgive the stupid thing

As promised, Axton was standing in front of the cave, ready to take me to the city to carry out our plan. I got dressed in my clothes, but I left the hoodie behind. I took my time to brush my hair before finally stepping out.“Are you ready?" Axton asked, his eyes studying me.“Mmmhmm, you look good." I said, eyeing him.He blushed. “First time hearing that from you. Are you falling for me?" I rolled my eyes and began walking. “Forget I said that." He caught up with me, and we headed towards his car.“Have you found a human to do this with us?" I asked."Yes, I did, and you might know her." He replied, scratching the back of his head.I stopped in my tracks and slowly turned to him. “Don't tell me it's your neighbor…what was her name again?”He sucked his teeth sharply. "Her name is Dani." "Axton, we can't have her do this," I said.“She's the closest human I have," he whined. “Or else I'll have to look for a total stranger to do it. And they'll demand I pay them." “Fine, but is

“You were really authoritative there.” Axton said as we headed back to my cave.I chuckled. “That was the only way they would listen. They're alphas; they are listened to, not the other way round. So I knew I had to be a little extra with them." The meeting had ended in a neutral standpoint. Everyone was to go home and relay the message to their people and get their men ready to attack. While Ember Moon was to take extra training lessons, not just the usual training lessons to make one strong. But one to prepare you for war.We planned to meet like this in four days to share the progress on how everyone's preparing.“There's still something that's bothering me though," Axton said, staring into the distance.I glanced at him. “What's that?" He sucked in air sharply and paused. “How do we get information on the lycans? We're blind here, Aries. They might show up tomorrow or at night and take us by surprise. There has to be some way we can get information." That was true. But that was
