I bent on the floor, Brum on all fours, wiping the floor dry with a cloth in hand. The kitchen had fell into utter silence from the second the king closed the door and we had both went our different ways, cleaning different parts of the kitchen.

My mind was everywhere but nowhere, swallowing.

Brum’s head tipped up, his eyes falling on mine as I settled on all fours too. I sighed, staring into his grey eyes.

“I think I love him, beyond the mate bond.” I spoke out the words with Brum still staring at me blankly, not reading what he was thinking, what the words had him think.

He finally blinked after some time, turning and sitting on the floor, cleaning cloth in hand. I did the same, sitting next to him, the floor cold, the silence nearly deafening with my hands shaking, not even sure why they were slightly shaking. I bit my lip to let go of it.
