Se connecterCHAPTER 5: A HUMAN BREEDER
VENUS: I woke up to the sound of muffled voices in my room. I didn't quite understand what they were saying except something about the Alpha's human breeder. It was the nurses talking. I tried not to draw their attention but they must have sensed that I was awake. So they stopped talking. What was it about the Alpha's human breeder they didn't want me to know about? The ache in my body had begun to dull a little and I should be happy but I'm not. What was my purpose here?. I was a slave now and couldn't imagine this new phase of my life getting better. My uncle had sold me off like cattle to a man who didn’t see me as a person but as a piece of property. Today is my seventh day here and I'm about to be discharged. Alpha Maxine walked inside my room in the clinic, looking very impatient. Now that I am in better health, I could see him clearly. He has fair skin and his hair is dark and curly. He was taller than anyone I know and he looked very masculine, with his jawline being so well defined. His aura was powerful and intimidating. Not to mention his piercing blue eyes which seemed to see through my soul. How could someone be so ruthless and still be so handsome? My heartbeat increased as he approached. He turned to the doctor and enquired about my progress. “She's not completely healed but she's much better now. We had special skill in treating her.” He nodded stiffly and moved to my side. He stood silently and gazed at me. I stiffened my body and lowered my head so that my face was completely covered by my hair. He leaned down and held my chin and lifted my chin so I could look at him. “Are you feeling better?” His deep husky voice sent my heart racing. I nodded without saying a word. “When I ask you a question, use your voice not your head to answer me, do you understand?” I nodded again and his grip on my chin hardened. Then I quickly said, “yes sir.” He took a long piercing look at me, turned on his heels and walked away. The doctor looked at me with pitiful eyes. "You'll be fine," she murmured, though his tone lacked conviction. "Just stay out of trouble and do as you're told." I didn’t respond. What was there to say? Another good looking man walked in. “Beta Conrad,” the doctor greeted. “Is she ready?” He didn't even respond to her greetings. “Yes, I guess she is.” “You guess? You know how Maxine is. I'm sure you don't want him on your neck about this.” The doctor sighed. “I brought her back to life within seven days. Every other thing was up to the moon goddess.” The Beta sighed and told me to follow him. I came here with nothing of mine. And that was because I had nothing but the rag that had clung to my skin. Despite my worries, I admit that these people have actually made me look like a human being with constant bathing and new clothes. The Beta led me through the massive estate, until we arrived at the mansion. The hallways stretched endlessly, adorned with luxurious furnishings that seemed out of place in my miserable reality. When we stopped in front of a door, he pushed it open, revealing a large, lavish room. "This is where you’ll stay," he said, his expression blank. "It’s next to the Alpha’s chambers. He wants you close." Close? The thought alone made my stomach churn. As I stepped inside, and took a thorough look around the room. The bed was massive, and the sheets looked softer than anything I had ever touched. The room smelled faintly of pine and leather and it was beautiful. But I couldn’t appreciate any of it. I was too trapped in my fear. The door shut behind me, locking me into my new prison. Qq For hours, I sat at the edge of the bed, staring at the wall, unable to process what was happening. I couldn’t escape. I had no one. No one would save me. A sudden knock at the door made me flinch. Before I could respond, the door swung open, and a towering figure filled the doorway. Alpha Maxine again. He has become like a ghost, haunting me. I shrank back, my breath catching in my throat as his sharp eyes landed on me. He looked as powerful as ever, his broad shoulders filling the space, his dark eyes unreadable. But there was something in his gaze—something cold and assessing. "You fear me," he stated, stepping inside. The door closed behind him, trapping me with him. "Why?" I swallowed hard, my throat dry. "I...I..." His eyes narrowed. "Speak." I clenched my fists in my lap, trying to get my voice to work. "I don't belong here." His expression didn’t change. "That is not for you to decide." I opened my mouth to plead, but the words died in my throat. What was the point? I was already his slave. Maxine took a deep breath, and stepped closer. Instinctively, I recoiled, pressing myself against the bedpost, my body shaking. He looked annoyed. "Do not cower like a beaten dog. It’s pathetic." My lips parted, but I had no response. His jaw tightened, and after a long, tense moment, he turned toward the door. "You will eat. You will sleep. And you will do what is required of you. The sooner you accept that, the better." With that, he walked towards the door. But before he could shut it behind, I called out to him. “Excuse me sir!”CHAPTER 179: A NEW DAWNVENUS:Today was the seventh day after the twins were born. And today, they're going to be named. The night was alive with silver light. The moon hung full and perfect, glowing brighter than I’d ever seen it before. Its reflection shimmered on the marble floor of the courtyard, where the great naming ceremony was about to begin. I could feel the energy in the air—magic, power, and something older than time itself. It was the seventh day after I brought the twins into this world. Seven days of sleepless nights, endless joy, and quiet awe every time I looked at their faces. Tonight, our children would be named before the entire werewolf kingdom, and before the Moon Goddess herself.I stood at the balcony that overlooked the palace courtyard. From up here, I could see everything—the golden lanterns floating in the air, the torches flickering around the grand fountain, the nobles and Alphas and Betas filling the space with soft chatter and excitement. The music f
CHAPTER 178: EPILOGUE: THE KINGDOM OF PEACEMAXIM:If someone had told me a year ago that I would sit on the throne of the Alpha King and decide the fates of my kind, I would’ve laughed in their face. But standing here now, looking over the balcony of the royal palace as the morning sun spilled gold over the mountains, I could finally smile and say I've come a long way.Within the few months I've ruled, I made sure peace is restored in every pack. And the Alphas made peace with one another. Now united, we were able to prevent rogue attacks and border disputes between packs.Venus’ gift was fully activated by the priestess and there was no sickness she couldn't heal. The air didn’t carry the smell of blood or betrayal anymore. Just the scent of fresh rain, blooming flowers, and life. Our people were thriving again. Packs that used to fight over territory now traded goods. Alphas who once hated my name now bowed in respect. And for once… I felt like I’d done something right.Venus stepp
CHAPTER 177: THE END OF OLIVIAMAXIM:As we headed towards Dr Larry’s hospital, Crystal suddenly changed her mind and said she wanted to go home. So I dropped Crystal off at home before I headed back to Dr. Larry:s hospital. By the time I got there, it was already getting dark. The air outside was cold and quiet and most of the hospital lights were on, shining brighter than stars in the night sky.I walked straight to Larry’s office, still wearing the same shirt I had on all day. I hadn’t even bothered to change. And neither did I eat.Larry looked up from some papers when I walked in. “Alpha Maxim,” he said softly, “thank you for coming.”“Where do I sign?” I asked, my voice flat.He slid the consent form across the table. “Right here. It’s a risky operation, but without it—”“I know,” I cut him off. I picked up the pen, signed the papers, and handed them back. “Do what you need to do.”He nodded slowly. “We’ll start the surgery at midnight. You can wait if you want, but it might tak
CHAPTER 176: FIFTY-FIFTY CHANCEMAXIM:He blinked. “Home? Alpha, that’s not advisable right now. She’s only just regained consciousness. Her body needs time.”“I’ll have a nurse come to the palace every day. Whatever she needs, we can manage there.”He shook his head. “It’s not that simple. She’s carrying twins, and we need to monitor her and the babies closely for at least a few more days. Taking her home now could put her and the babies at risk.”I exhaled sharply. “How many days are we talking?”“Three or four, minimum,” he replied. “After that, if everything stays stable, she can go home.”I didn’t like it. I hated hospitals. The smell, the cold walls, the way it made me feel helpless. But Crystal placed her hand on my arm again.“Max,” she said calmly. “Let her stay. The last thing you want is a complication. A few days won’t hurt.”I sighed. “Fine. But I’m bringing her home after that.”The doctor nodded. “Understood.”We stayed with Venus most of the day, talking softly, laughi
CHAPTER 175: GOD, I THOUGHT I LOST YOU MAXIM:I hardly slept through the night and the next morning, I was already wide awake before the sun came up. My mind was on Venus. I couldn’t stop thinking about her lying in that hospital bed, pale and still. The thought alone tore at my chest.Crystal knocked softly on my door.“Maxim, are you up?” Crystal asked, her voice soft. “I've been waiting for you downstairs so we could go and see Venus.”“Yeah,” I said, buttoning my shirt. “Let’s go. I want to see her.”We left the palace without breakfast. The drive to the hospital felt longer than usual. Every red light, every slow car made me tap the steering wheel harder. Crystal kept glancing at me.“You’ve been tense since yesterday,” she said.“Wouldn’t you be? Venus almost died.”“I know, Max. But thank the moon goddess she’s still breathing.”When we pulled up at the hospital, I didn’t even wait for the valet. I just parked and got out. Crystal followed close behind me.As soon as I walked
