CHAPTER: LETTING GO OF THE PAST

MAXINE’S POV:

I woke at the first sign of dawn, feeling blissful after such a wonderful night with my newly wedded mate. Venus lay curled beside me, peaceful, her breathing soft and steady. I brushed a kiss against her hairline and slipped out of bed quietly, careful not to wake her.

As I pulled on a black shirt and fastened the buttons, my thoughts turned to someone I had been avoiding for a while now.

Olivia.

Conrad had sent word last night that she’d been treated at the clinic after injuring herself. I’d heard the details in passing—something about glass, blood, and tears.

She broke a beer bottle and with tears in her eyes, she had stabbed herself when she saw Venus being crowned Luna.

But I hadn’t gone to see her. Not because I didn’t care. But because I knew she wanted to ruin the moment for me and I wasn't going to let her.

But it was time we set the record straight.

I made my way to the pack clinic, moving with confident strides. A few wolves w

CHAPTER 87: I'VE NEVER FLOWN BEFORE VENUS' POV:The sunlight spilled through the curtains, warm and golden, as I stood before the mirror trying to figure out what in the world one wears to Paris. Not just Paris—but Paris with Maxine. I had three options laid out on the bed and still couldn’t decide.“Red,” came his voice from behind me.I turned, catching his reflection in the mirror as he leaned on the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, his white dress shirt rolled up at the sleeves. That smirk—God help me—could melt glaciers.“You think red?” I asked, holding up the dress. He walked toward me, reached for the gown and held it against me with a knowing nod. “Absolutely. Paris is about passion, fire... romance. This one screams all three. And also—” he paused, dragging his eyes down my body slowly “—you’ll look ravishing in it.”I flushed, fidgeting with my hair. “Well, you don’t look too bad yourself.”He laughed, pulling me into a gentle hug. “Only ‘not too bad?’ That hurts.”

  • THE RUTHLESS ALPHA'S HUMAN SURROGATE    HIS SOLEMN PROMISES

CHAPTER 86: HIS SOLEMN PROMISES VENUS' POV:When I blinked awake and reached for Maxine, his side of the bed was empty and cold which indicated he left the bed more than an hour ago.He probably went for a run. But why go without me? I needed to exercise too, especially now that I have been made a Luna.I kicked off the sheets and got out of bed. I stood at the balcony of our bedroom, my arms folded tightly across my chest, staring down at the pack house courtyard. A part of me hoped I was wrong, but my instincts told me where he had gone. And I wasn't really pleased about it.The same man who had vowed to spend forever with me had left this morning without saying a word, and as much as I hated jumping to conclusions, the ache in my chest grew the longer he was gone.I heard the gates shift open below and leaned forward just in time to see him walk in through the courtyard, his head bowed low, his steps heavy. My jaw tensed. He looked up.Our eyes locked. The moment stretched like e

CHAPTER 84: YOU'RE NOT BEGGING ENOUGH VENUS:I shivered as his thumb grazed the tip of my nipples. He kissed my lips, my neck and my collarbone. “You smell so good.”I pulled him closer enough to feel his hardened cock against my stomach. I boldly slid my hand through his pant and felt his manhood. He moaned and kissed me passionately. Then he took off my panties and parted my thighs. I shivered when he grazed my clit with his fingers.“You're getting wet, baby. I'll make you have your first orgasm today.”“I can't wait,” I murmured, arching my back upward. He began stroking my pussy with his fingers while he suckled gently on my nipples. Maddening pleasure shut through my veins as I moaned his name and begged for more.He suckled from one nipple to another while his fingers moved in and out of wet spot. Soon, he lowered his head to my cunt and began sucking gently on my wet core while his fingers worked magic on my breasts. I wriggled and moaned, unable to contain the pleasant tor

CHAPTER 83: OUR FIRST NIGHT AS MATESVENUS:Celeste looked just like me.“Celeste,” Maxine said softly, guiding her toward me. “Your sister.”Celeste moved closer and threw her arms around me. “I thought I was alone,” she whispered. “I thought I’d never find you.”I held her tightly, overwhelmed by the pieces of my life finally coming together. “I didn’t know about you… until now.”I made her sit next to me as the ceremony continued well into the night.Guests mingled and feasted. Maxine had prepared quite a banquet for his special guests. The courtyard now lit with thousands of glowing lanterns. Gifts were presented, blessings offered. Even the Alpha King lingered longer than expected, watching the festivities with approval. But eventually, he called Maxine and asked who I was. I could hear him because he sat close to us. Maxine told him I was his mate. From the look on his face, I knew he wasn't satisfied with the response but he let it slide. The event was almost coming to an end w

CHAPTER: A DAY OF CROWNS AND PROMISESVENUS:It's my birthday, guys, and my mates birthday as well. The sun rose like a golden trumpet over the horizon, and from the very first rays that spilled into my window, I knew today would be like no other.I hardly slept last night out of excitement and anticipation. So I was up very early and moved around the mansion as if I was inspecting a project. If everything goes as planned and I'm crowned Luna, this kingdom will be mine. A slave girl who came here at the brink of death was about to be crowned Luna. “Hey, Luna.”I turned to see Crystal standing behind me. She has been as excited as I was about this event. Jenna stood beside her, grinning. She's genuinely happy for for me.“Hey besties,” I responded as I walked over and pulled them into a hug. “Let's go get your nails done, Luna,” Jenna stated. “You need to look your best today.” “Right now?”“Yes, right now. We don't have all day and the nails have to dry before you can take your ba
