Killian

Before I could even react, Tiffanie’s face twisted with a flash of raw, agonizing pain. She tore away from me and bolted out of the hall doors like the hounds of hell were chasing her.

I moved to follow, instincts roaring to life, but Finn, my foolish nephew, stepped directly into my path. He grabbed my wrist.

I shot him a glare so cold it could freeze blood. He dropped my hand instantly, as if burned.

“I’ve made my decision, Uncle,” Finn said, voice laced with defiance and arrogance. “Liora is the one I want. There’s nothing you can do to stop it. Besides, her wolf is a white wolf. Powerful. They say white wolves heighten an Alpha’s strength. Even for a Lycan like you. Her power would benefit me greatly.”

I turned slowly to Liora, who was clinging to Finn’s arm like a vine. I studied her. The too-sweet smile, the sickly perfume that masked something rotten underneath, the way she tried so hard to look innocent and delicate. Fake. Everything about her screamed fake.

She was nothing compared to the woman who had just fled.

I hadn’t sensed a wolf in Tiffanie earlier, yet the raw, blinding power that wafted off her had nearly knocked me off balance. I could still remember the first time she collided with me in her father’s office. Those wide, shocked eyes, her unexpected beauty, and the strange absence of any scent that should have marked her as ordinary. Human or wolf, she was anything but ordinary. I hadn’t known then that she was the Beta’s daughter. But seeing her here tonight, cowering in terror while they tried to break her, something primal in me had wanted to unleash hell on every single one of them.

If she truly had no wolf, she was vulnerable. Any rogue could find her. Tear her apart.

I owed her father nothing. In fact, letting his daughter die might even settle old scores. But the mere idea of Tiffanie in pain made my wolf snarl in pure horror, clawing at my insides to get out.

“She could be our mate, Killian. We have to find her”, my wolf, Loki, growled inside my head.

“She is not our mate," I growled back at my wolf silently. “I am misinterpreting this. It is only guilt and duty.”

I finally looked back at Finn, my face carefully blank. “You have no idea what you just lost.”

Without another word, I sprinted out of the hall and into the night.

Her faint lavender scent lingered in the air, but it was weak. Too weak. I shifted mid-stride, bones cracking and reforming as my massive black wolf tore through the trees. The forest blurred around me. Her scent grew stronger the deeper I went, but she had run far too deep.

I skidded into a small clearing, paws digging into the soft earth. There, scattered on the ground, were the shredded remains of her dress.

A low, dangerous growl ripped from my throat. Fear and fury clouded my vision. Had rogues found her already? Had they taken her to tear her apart?

“Threat! I can smell her fear here,” my wolf warned sharply.

“No,” I snarled back, sniffing the air frantically. “If they had taken her, she wouldn’t be dead yet. I can still smell her. She is alive. She has to be.”

I pushed forward, but her scent suddenly scattered everywhere. Looping, confusing, impossible to track cleanly. I stopped, hackles raised.

“Damn it. This feels like a trap,” I growled under my breath, ears twitching at every shadow. “My enemies could be using her scent to lure me in. Draw me out alone and strike.”

I was seconds away from turning back and sending my warriors to search the neighboring packs when a tiny, painful moan pierced the night.

A strong, intoxicating scent slammed into me. Flowers, sweetness, and raw, desperate arousal. It nearly brought me to my knees. My wolf howled inside my head.

My head snapped to the right. There, by the edge of a large lake atop a small cliff, was Tiffanie.

She was curled into a tight ball on the ground, sobbing. Her skin pulsed with visible waves of heat, long swells rippling across her body.

It could not be.

The curvy girl was in heat. Full, devastating heat. I could smell her wolf now. Strong, awakened. And the slick sweetness of her arousal cutting through the night air.

I forced my wolf back under control, shifting quickly into human form as I approached. My clothes reformed around me in the way of our kind.

“Tiffanie,” I said, voice low and tense. “What is going on? Talk to me.”

“Leave me!” she cried, fear and apprehension dancing wildly in her beautiful eyes. Yet even as she spoke, her body leaned toward me, trembling. She folded her arms tightly over her bare chest, trying desperately to hide her nakedness as another wave of pain wracked her. “Please. Just go away.”

Another brutal wave of heat hit her. Her eyes rolled back, a sharp gasp escaping her lips. Before I could react, she lunged forward and jumped on me, her heated body pressing flush against mine. Her nipples hardened against my chest through the thin fabric of my shirt. Her hands clutched desperately at my shoulders.

“Please,” she begged, voice breaking with raw need and pain. “Make it stop. It is burning me inside. I can’t. Please, do whatever it takes. Just make it stop!”

I could feel the dangerous truth settling in my bones. This was not a normal seasonal heat. This was her first heat after turning. Wild, uncontrollable. If left unchecked, it could kill her.

My own body reacted violently, sparks flying where her warm skin touched mine, my member hardening instantly. I fought for control even as her scent wrapped around me like a drug.

“You have to mate, Tiffanie,” I growled, voice rough. “You need a wolf to take care of this heat, or it will destroy you.”

Killian"Your Majesty!" Alaric called out as I marched down the hallway, the physician trailing behind me."Good morning, Your Majesty. I only wanted an update regarding Lady Tiffanie…""Come with me. She's finally awake — but I don't think all is right with her," I muttered, my chest heavy just from saying it.Alaric didn't press. He just fell in step, and the three of us made our way to the royal chambers. I pushed the doors open and found Tiffanie on her rocking chair, working her way through a book."Tiffanie," I said, walking over with concern heavy in my voice. "Aren't you supposed to still be in bed? What are you doing with that book?"She looked down at it and closed it, setting it gently on the stool beside her."I got bored of sitting around waiting for so long, so I picked one up," she said, pouting a little."The physician is here to see you. If there's anywhere else you're feeling pain or discomfort, tell her," I said, and stepped aside. The two women started speaking in

Tiffanie I didn’t know how long I was unconscious, but I woke up with a sharp pain piercing through my back and a memory I couldn’t quite grasp. My eyes fluttered open slowly as light spilled into the room and the rays of sunlight kissed one side of my face. “What happened to me?” My voice cracked as my lips trembled. “Tiffanie.” Killian’s voice echoed from the end of the bed as he lifted his face to mine and seeing the pain in his eyes, my heart was filled with a mix of confusion and worry. “You’re awake! Oh thank the goddess!” He exhaled, rubbing my arm gently. “What’s going on?” I asked again, trying to sit up from the bed but my head throbbed uncontrollably and I winced loudly. “Don’t stress yourself, stay down there and I’ll go get the physician immediately.” He ordered. “Killian what happened to me? I keep asking what’s going on and you’re not saying anything.” I nagged, forcing myself to sit up despite the sharp pain behind my head. He gently moved closer to my side of

Killian “Ladies and gentlemen, I know you all might be wondering why his majesty has insisted that you all remain here..” Alaric started, holding the guest list in his hands. “Lady Tiffanie is missing from the castle and there’s no way she could have run away from here. So his majesty has ordered that every guest be checked to ensure that nobody had left this hall during the time lady Tiffanie went missing..” I took the opportunity to look through their faces to ensure that everyone in the hall was on my guest list. Alaric called out the names and one after the other, he questioned them about the last time they saw Tiffanie. A part of me just didn’t feel the need to do this, because everyone in this room could not have known when she left here to tend to her hurting belly. “Your majesty!” I heard someone calling out hastily from outside the castle doors. I turned to Alaric, he was still busy questioning the guests at a corner and I immediately turned towards the door. The doors

Tiffanie “Liora what are you doing?” My voice cracked as I struggled to break free from the chains binding my wrists but I only ended up causing myself pain. “Can you stop whining already? I’m only taking you back home so stop acting like it’s a big deal!” I sucked my teeth, my chest tightening as those words echoed in my head. “You really have no idea what you’re getting yourself into, Liora.”“Oh please!”“Doubt me all you want,” I scoffed, “but when Killian finds out that you’re responsible for nabbing me from his fortress, you’ll beg for death and he won’t grant you that gift..” Liora turned away quickly but I could tell she was hiding her fear from me. She wa obviously worried for her safety. I leaned back and laid my head on the headrest as the carriage rode through the bumpy path that led to my father’s house. Even without seeing the outside, I could tell from the familiar smell that we were headed back to that prison. Suddenly, the tires screeched to an abrupt halt and

Killian“I understand why you did all of that, lord Regent. I would have done the same if I was in your position..” my voice trailed off as I glanced over my shoulder in the direction Tiffanie went. “I’m glad we’re on the same page now and I hope you’re making the right decision henceforth. I’m sure soon enough everyone will see what you see in your fated mate..” he responded, bowing slightly as he excused himself. That sounded like a backhanded compliment, but my mind was just too busy looking out for Tiffanie to pay any attention to him properly. I excused myself and left the hall, my boots stomping briskly towards the royal quarters. I could smell her strong pheromones all over the hallway and I didn’t keep walking until I got to her door. “Isn’t that guard supposed to be outside?” I asked as I pushed the slightly ajar door wider and barged in. “Tiffanie?” I called out, scouting the room for any sign of her but there was none. On the vanity, a little empty bottle that normall

Tiffanie “Ahh… there he is!” Maeve said, pointing towards the front of the hall. I turned my head around to see who this man was and my jaw literally hung open. His face looked like something that was carved out of stone. A scar ran down from the top of his left eyebrow, stretching down to the corner of his lip. He had a full head of hair that he slicked back and held in a messy bun, leaving only a few strands hanging around the sides of his face. “He’s divine, isn’t he?” Maeve whispered in my ears. “I don’t blame you for wanting him, and now that I’ve seen what he looks like, I’m more certain now that there are a million other women waiting for the opportunity to have him to themselves. Don’t let this moment slip away from you..” I warned, pulling her ear until she winced. “Okay okay..!” I quickly let go and dusted off my hands as I adjusted my dress. “Now if you’d excuse me, I need to be by Killian’s side for the whole night because this party is to also celebrate my freedom
