CHAPTER 21: SOMEONE IS JEALOUS

CARA’S P.O.V

Today was a bit calmer and quieter in the office compared to all the drama and noisy shouting that took place yesterday. However, the chocolate chip ice-cream that I had after work made me put all of the embarrassment from yesterday in the past.

I was busy typing an e-mail until I heard the elevator doors opening. Lifting my head from the screen I saw Xander’s brother coming in, holding a bunch of red roses.  ‘That’s surprising! He told me that Xander and he don’t get along, but he is on this level of the building and that can only mean that he does want to meet Xander. Maybe they decided to put their differences aside’ I felt happy thinking that this was the reason for him being here.

“Hi,” I greeted him with a friendly smile. “Hey there, we meet again,” he said, stopping in front of my desk. “Yes I guess you were right about that,” I said. “Of course, my life would be only half lived if I saw a face as beautiful as yours just once” he joki
