THE PERIOD

“Ohhhh no!!! not this time,” I said as I woke up to seeing myself bleeding, my white bedsheet was covered with blood stains.

I already knew what it was, my period, so I didn’t freak out.

Teen girls usually see their periods from age 13-15, but mine came out late. I'm 19 and about to turn 20 next month in October.

I’ve always wanted to see my period, though I’ve heard my friends in class talk about their first experience, the cramps and all, but guess what? I can’t relate because my period has refused to come.

“Door clicks”

It was Rain, my favorite and only sister.

Immediately she saw the blood stains on the bed, she looked at me.

“Oh my baby, the long-awaited period is here.”

I looked at her, making a pity face. She came closer and hugged me while I was standing.

“You know, we should wash up. You go to the bathroom while I help you with changing the bedsheets and placing your pad on your pant.”

I just love her because she’s very supportive.

“Thank you,” I greeted as I walked close to the bathroom.

“I got you sis.”

As I was bathing, what was running through my mind was, I don’t know how my mom is going to react hearing this news; she’s going to bore me with her advice.

“Stay away from boys, don’t do this, you will get pregnant.” I just get tired of her sometimes.

As she noticed I hadn’t seen my period, she was worried, so we went for a check-up, but the doctor said I’m fine.

Hearing from the doctor made her relax her mind; if not, she would have thought that I am pregnant. I know my mom.

Coming out of the bathroom, I overheard Rain telling my mom that I’ve seen my period while they both entered my room.

“I deserve some privacy at least, you guys didn’t knock,” I said jokingly.

They both laughed.

“Rain told me…” my mom was about to start preaching before I cut her short.

“I know what Rain told you, mommy. What advice do you want to give me now that you’ve not given me before?” I asked her.

She smiled.

“Take, I made you coffee.” Rain said

“Thanks, sis.”

“You’re welcome, darling. I will go make us breakfast. If you need anything, let me know.”

“Sure.” She left the room while my mom stayed back.

“Look, baby, I need to talk to you.”

“But mommy, anything you want to say can actually wait, you know, right?”

“Let’s just have this conversation before I leave for work.”

“Okay, fine,” I said as I dropped my coffee on the table, tied my towel around tightly, wore my pad that Rain arranged in my pants earlier, and sat on the bed.

“Are you still a virgin?” she asked.

For a moment I paused, looked at her in surprise.

“Mom, there we go again.”

“It’s fine if you don’t want to answer.”

I didn’t want to stress it, so I answered.

“I am, can I have peace now?”

“You should be more careful now that your period is out. You can actually get pregnant if you’re not careful.”

My mom never trusted me when it comes to sex and men. And me? I’ve always wanted to explore, but I can’t because I have a strict parent.

“Thank you, ma.”

“I will go get ready for work now.” She stood up and left the room.

I stood up, untied my towel, and stood in front of the mirror, admiring my boobs and my nipples, hoping that one day those tits would get sucked.

Daisy, my friend, is no longer a virgin. She lost it to her boyfriend in school and she tells me about her experience.

How she sucks her man’s cock and how she gets eaten, those gists alone make me wet.

She once sent me a picture of her man’s dick in her pussy, which makes me want to relocate to another city.

Hence, I’m close to my mom; I won’t enjoy my sex life. I might even end up not knowing the right thing to do when having sex.

I’m not a fan of keeping my virginity till marriage.

“Breakfast is ready!” Rain shouted.

“Coming!”

I quickly dressed up and joined them in the dining room.

It’s just my mom, Rain, and I.

My dad? He was tired of the marriage, so he requested a divorce. My mom didn’t want that, so they separated, but no divorce papers were legally signed.

She manages her boutique so well and provides for us. We are not wealthy, nor are we poor.

Rain and I have an inseparable bond. She’s 22 and almost 23; she’s the big sister I would always want to have.

After eating breakfast, I started having cramps, my waist ached, and my stomach hurt. I was so uncomfortable, but Rain gave me pain relief. After sleeping, I got better, took my phone, and was doom-scrolling on T****k.

I came across a post of a lady saying that where we urinate from and where our period comes out are different. I became curious and wanted to check immediately, but I was on my period. So I waited four days until I was done with my period so I could check.

I locked my room that very afternoon, brought down the mirror from where it was hanging. I pulled my pants, spread my legs, and was fact-checking.

That was the first time I looked at my vagina, and gosh, it’s so beautiful.

How small my clitoris is and how I have a very tiny vagina hole.

I was admiring my pussy while caressing it. I was already getting wet and horny; I needed to be fucked so hard.

“Zoe,” my sister called me.

I kept my phone face-down on my thigh like the screen itself might burn me if I looked at it again. The photo of us leaving Jasper’s gate sat in my messages like a live thing. So did the second text.Tell your friend to sleep light tonight. I already know which window is hers.Every few minutes Daisy’s eyes flicked to the rear-view mirror. I pretended not to notice. I stood in the middle of the living room with my arms wrapped around myself and watched her move. The girl who usually filled every silence with noise was quiet in a way that scared me more than the messages.“You’re staying here tonight,” I said.Daisy turned from the last window. “Obviously.”

THE PHOTOGRAPHThe door closed behind my sister and the silence that followed felt louder than any scream.I couldn’t move. My eyes stayed fixed on the folded paper lying on the glass table, one corner bent just enough to show the edge of a photograph. Rain’s face. Smiling.Looking straight into the camera like she had been waiting for this exact second to exist.Jasper’s voice reached me from somewhere far away. “Zoe. Zoe, look at me.”I didn’t.He stepped closer and I finally flinched, taking a sharp step back. The back of my legs hit the couch. I sat down hard, the air leaving my lungs in a shaky rush.“She planned this,” I whispered. My voice sounded strange to my own ears. “Both of them. They planned this.”Jasper dragged a hand down his face. He looked wrecked. “I didn’t know she was coming. I swear to you I didn’t know.”“Does it matter?” The words came out sharper than I intended. “She’s here. She has whatever that is. And she’s already talking to Rain.”He reached for the pap

THE HOUSE THAT REMEMBERSDaisy refused to let me leave the apartment alone. She stood in front of the door with her arms folded, still wearing the oversized shirt she had slept in, hair pulled up in a messy knot.“I’m coming,” she said for the third time. “I don’t care if he said come alone. I’m not letting you walk into that house by yourself after what Rain pulled last night.”I didn’t argue. Part of me was relieved she insisted. The other part already felt the weight of Jasper’s message sitting in my chest like a stone. We left a little after one. The drive was quiet. Daisy kept glancing at me from the driver’s seat, but she didn’t fill the silence with her usual chatter. She knew today was different.Jasper’s street looked the same as the last time I was here. The same tall gate. The same black car parked under the shade of the mango tree. My stomach twisted the moment we stopped.Daisy parked across the road. “I’ll be right here. Phone on. If you’re not out in thirty minutes I’m

THE MORNING AFTERI didn’t sleep.Every time I closed my eyes I saw Rain’s face in that circle, the way she smiled when she said Jasper’s name. The way everyone’s eyes shifted to me like I was already guilty.Daisy was still stretched out on the couch when the sun came up, one arm hanging off the side, makeup slightly smeared. I sat on the floor with my back against the wall, phone in my hand, staring at the two messages that had kept me awake.Jeffrey: Heard you were at the party. Is everything okay? And the unknown number: You should have stayed home tonight. Things are only going to get worse from here.I hadn’t replied to either. My mind kept circling back to Jasper. We were still together. Technically. We hadn’t broken up. We just… stopped. After the day at his house—the day my sister and I found out at the same time—everything between us had gone quiet and ugly. We never officially ended it. We just stopped talking like people who were still in a relationship. And now Rain had s

CHAPTER 64THE BOTTLE NEVER LIESRain’s eyes stayed locked on me. The music was still blasting, but it felt like the whole room had gone quiet just for her."The guy," she said slowly, like she was tasting every word, "is Jasper."My stomach dropped.A few gasps went around the circle. Someone muttered, "Wait… Jasper? As in—""Yes," Rain cut in. "Jasper. My boyfriend. The same Jasper she was fucking behind my back. And the same Jasper who was also involved with her sister. Family affair, I guess." She let out a short, bitter laugh. "Some people just can’t keep their legs closed."I stood up so fast the plastic cup in my hand spilled. "That is a fucking lie."Daisy was already on her feet beside me. "Rain, what the hell is wrong with you?"Rain didn’t even glance at her. She kept staring at me, smiling like she had been waiting for this exact moment."You can deny it all you want, Zoe. People already know the kind of person you are. You destroy things. Relationships. Friendships. Famil
