The gun was not loaded. It's empty. Seeing the man still alive and safe, both mother and daughter breathed in relief, but simultaneously, they were worried about what would be next.

On the other side, the man opened his eyes in considerable shock, looking at himself still alive before moving his gaze at the unloaded gun and then at Byron with a doubtful, suspicious expression. 

"W-What just happened?" 

"T-This gun…" The man was voiceless and pondered about what game Byron was trying to play with him and his family.

Meanwhile, Byron gaped at him without any hint of expression and boldly voiced even before his uncle questioned, "What?” “Are you astonished to be still alive?"
