CHAPTER 25 - BACK HOME

-PHOEBE'S POV-

My body felt like a heavy log as I struggled to get out of bed. It was like I could not manage my own body weight. Jogging my memory about last night’s event produced a blank slate. Did I party too much? I must have been overly drunk and I bet that Fiona was to be blamed. My intrepid best friend.

Focusing on my strength, I made it to the bathroom through the muscle aches and pain. The toothbrush felt like three tons of bricks. What the hell was wrong with me? With little energy, I brushed my teeth and showered, clinging to the walls and hoping not to fall.

In forty minutes, I was done and dressed in brown yoga shorts with a cream T-shirt with capped sleeves before I wobbly trudged downstairs. To my surprise, Mom was sitting on the living room couch, sipping her tea and reading the morning's paper.
