Chapter 15

Alexandra’s POV

My life has seemed gray lately. The temperature was heading to a new low and the weather really wasn’t on my side. I never gave a fuck about the weather before and the weather didn’t care about me either.

The clouds would march along, just like they do. They would fill the sky and cry when I didn’t want them to and they would disperse and clear the way for the sun to shine when I wished for rain.

A day ago, I had wished for rain. I wished for it so badly. I wanted a heavy rainfall, one heavy enough to stop the events of that day from happening. Heavy enough to cause a flood. But it didn’t. Heck! I can’t remember the last time the weather was so good. It was sunny but the sun wasn’t scorching hot. It was a good day for an event. Unfortunately.

I stared at the dark clouds that I could see through the transparent glass of the hotel suite. It was a beautiful room. I sat on the bed and stared out the glass wall, down at the glowing city.
