Fire crackling.

I distractedly watched on as the burning embers danced around in the fire place, having their own little party.

The wind was blowing harshly through the windows, singing it's own sad song and rustling the curtains.

People were crying.

Memories were flashing.

A cold shiver went up my spine. But it had nothing to do with the temperature of the room.

I shuddered.

"Are you cold? Do you want me to shut the windows?" Mavis, who had already gotten up to close the windows, asked me with concern etched across her features.

I didn't respond.

But she shut it anyway.

It felt like my life had had no meaning ever since the day I was born.

I was doomed right from the start.

Latifah wasn't dead but was badly injured from the attack.

Anastasia was not dead either but in critical condition.

And Damon ...

Damon was unconscious.

He has been for the past one week.

Doctors said he was injected with far too much wolfsbane.

Any normal wolf should have died but he hasn't.

But he isn't safe yet
