LOGINALIRA'S POV
“What the hell was that for??!!" Alec yelled in anger. “Oh goodness, I am so sorry Alec..I thought I saw something creeping up your face…I didn't do that intentionally.” I said. "You saw something creeping up my face and you couldn't just say it with words??” He asked, clearly still angry. "I am sorry babe." I said with a pretentious sad look on my face. “You are acting weird Alira…is everything alright?? Do you not feel well??” Alec asked. "I feel well..am just tired and I had a long day.” "Are you sure Alira??” "Yes Alec.” "Alright, if you say so…anyway come and eat something..the food is ready.” "Alright, I'll be down in a jiffy.” I said. Alec nodded his head, kissed my cheek and walked away. I quickly changed into my clothes and walked downstairs and was surprised to see the table already set. I sat down and Alec served the food but I just kept gazing at the food without eating. “What's going on?? You don't like the food??" Alec asked. “No..it looks good." “And it tastes good too..try it." Alec said with a smile. Just as I was about to take a bite of the food, I suddenly experienced what looked like a daydream or illusion. . . My mouth kept on moving but I had no idea what I was saying and suddenly Alec raised the glass of water in front of him and poured it on me. As he stood up and stormed away in rage, I followed him and kept down while I pleaded with him. . . I snapped back to reality as I gasped in shock as I looked around in confusion. I looked at my body and found out it was still dry and the glass cup of water I saw was still intact in front of Alec. “What was that??" I asked myself. I didn't seem to understand where that memory came from and I didn't remember something like that happening in my previous life. A few minutes after I started eating, Alec stopped eating, cleared his throat and looked at me. “What??" I asked. “You have forgotten??" He asked as the look on his face became serious. “Forgotten what??" “Are you kidding me Alira??? Look if you don't want to help me just come out right with it and say so!!" “Alec, I don't understand what you mean..help you with what??" I asked in confusion. “You said you were going to give me the money I asked for to start up something for myself….you even promised it wouldn't exceed today.” Alec said as I chuckled softly. "Wait, is that the reason why you cooked up a storm??” I asked. “What do you mean by that?? Are you trying to say that I prepared this meal for you just because I wanted something?!" "Isn't that what this looks like Alec??” I asked. "Well you are wrong!!! I did it because I wanted to and not because I was obligated to.” "Well that's great to hear but I am really sad to disappoint you my dearest fiance but I don't have the money you have asked for.” I said as I took another bite of my food. “What?? What did you just say??" “I don't have the money Alec..when I do, I will let you know." I said. Alec suddenly burst into laughter. “Alira, I saw a huge amount of money being transferred to your account a few days ago…so what are you talking about??” "Exactly as you have said Alec…the money was transferred to my account and not yours.. it's my money and not yours and I am not obligated to give anyone from it..besides you are a young and vibrant man…it's hard time you start trying to make your own money and stop being dependent on others.” I said as Alec started looking around in confusion. "Are you talking to me, Alira??" He asked. "Well, if we were three people here, I would have said no but being that we are only two in this table, then yes Alec…I am.talking to you.” Suddenly, Alec grabbed the glass of water on the table and was about to pour it on me when I suddenly remembered the flashback I had a while ago. “Don't you fucking dare!!!" I bit out as Alec stopped midway as a little amount of the water splashed on the table. At that moment, I was angry and confused. Angry with the fact that if I didn't get that flashback, I would have been drenched with water because I didn't want to give my so-called man my own money and I was confused with the fact that I had no idea this particular memory had happened. This could only mean that there were a lot of things that happened in my previous life that I missed and didn't have the memory of and it could be very dangerous for me because I needed to know every detail of my previous life. Alec suddenly dropped the glass cup and stood up abruptly from his seat. “You are such a self centered person Alira…I am your fiance and you can't help the one who's surname you would be carrying soon?? Shame on you.” He said as he turned around and walked away. In my previous life, I remember following him and pleading with him and I also remembered transferring the money I had in my account to him. I chuckled and continued with my meal without moving an inch from where I sat. After I was done eating, I took the dishes and washed them as I went back to my living room and switched on the TV to watch a program. A few minutes later, I got a message notification on my phone but I ignored it as I thought it was from Alec. After a little while, my phone suddenly began ringing and when I checked the caller ID, it was unknown. I was skeptical about picking up the call but I did after a while. “Hello ma'am, I am sorry to disturb you but I've got not so good news from your company." “What?? What happened??" “We just detected that a huge amount of money from your company is about to be transferred to an unknown account in another country and we have tried everything to stop it but it's not working.” "Oh no!!”ALIRA'S POV “Hide.”Liam stared at me like I had just insulted him.“I’m not hiding,” he said firmly.“You are,” I whispered harshly, gripping his arm. “Alec is outside.”“So?” he snapped. “Let him see me.”“Are you crazy?” I hissed. “If he sees you here, everything goes haywire and I am in no fucking mood to entertain such chaos.”“I don’t care,” Liam said. “I’m tired of sneaking around like I’m the problem.”“This isn’t about pride!” I snapped. “And it definitely isn't about you being a problem so fucking go!!”He looked at me, jaw tight, eyes blazing.“You’re asking me to hide like a dirty secret,” he said.“On the contrary, aren't you??" “Eva??!!" “I’m asking you to protect yourself,” I replied. “Please.”The doorbell rang again.“Eva, open the door." Alec said impatiently.“I am coming…hold on a second." Liam exhaled sharply.“Five minutes,” I said urgently. “Just hide for five minutes.”Another knock came harder this time.Liam clenched his fists, then finally turned
ALIRA'S POV The message wouldn’t leave my mind.No matter how hard I tried to focus on something else, the words stayed carved inside my head.Three hearts woke up from the same death. If I was one… who were the other two?Alec?Liam?Betsy? The thought of any of them remembering a past life made my stomach twist painfully especially after knowing that my death in my previous life was majorly caused by two of them and partly by the last one.If Alec remembered… then everything I was doing would be useless. If Betsy remembered… then she would be far more dangerous than I imagined. And if Liam remembered…oh goodnessI stopped that thought. The more I tried to solve it, the more confused I became. One thing was clear…if I had plans on telling anyone before, I couldn’t tell them anymore. Not now and not ever.Being reborn was my weapon, and weapons lose their power once exposed.I pressed my palm against my stomach gently.“For you,” I whispered. “I have to be careful.”This was not the
ALIRA’S POV“How shameless can you be?” she snapped.I closed the door gently behind her.“Good afternoon to you too,” I replied. She turned to face me, her chest rising and falling quickly with anger.“Pregnant?” she hissed. “You’re pregnant?”“Yes.”“And you announced it like it was some grand achievement.”“It is.” I said simply. She laughed bitterly.“Achievement? Getting pregnant before your wedding is an achievement now?”“Careful,” I said softly. “You sound jealous.” I said with a smirk. Her eyes flashed.“Jealous? Of you?”“Yes,” I replied. “You look like someone who just lost something.”She stepped closer.“Is it Alec’s?” she asked bluntly. There it was.The real reason she came.I tilted my head.“What kind of question is that?”“A valid one.” she shot back. “You’ve been acting strange…You’ve been secretive and now suddenly you’re pregnant?”“First of all Betsy, who the fuck gave you this right to question me?? You were in my bedroom uninvited.” I reminded her. “You to
ALIRA'S POV There is something beautiful about cooking for someone who has no idea they are walking into a trap. The kitchen smelled warm and inviting. Spices, butter, roasted garlic as soft music played in the background.I moved slowly, carefully, tasting the sauce, adjusting the salt, making everything perfect. Not because I loved Alec but because presentation matters.Liam’s anger yesterday did not shake me.His shouting, his refusal, his dramatic exit… all of it was expected. Liam was emotional and Alec was calculative and men like Alec were easier to control.I set the table with candles. I even wore the soft cream dress he once said made me look “harmless.”Harmless….I almost laughed. When the doorbell rang, I didn’t rush. I checked my reflection once more, softened my expression, then walked to open the door.Alec stood there, looking sharp as always. He stepped in slowly. The moment he saw the table, he stopped.“What is going on?” he asked as I smiled sweetly.“Can I n
ALIRA’S POVPeople often think revenge begins with anger…they are wrong.Revenge begins with planning. After what happened with Iris’s ex, I learned a simple truth… danger does not always come with warning. Sometimes it walks into your house casually. That was why I installed the cameras. Not because I was afraid, but because I refused to ever be caught unaware again.Every corner of my house saw what I saw.So when Betsy arrived that afternoon without calling, I already knew.I was in the bathroom, water running, steam filling the air, my phone resting on the sink with the camera feed open. I knew the minute she opened my door with a key I had no idea how she got…that she came with trouble.Betsy stood in my living room, looking around like she had permission to be there. Her eyes moved quickly, scanning and searching. She was hunting as I smiled.Slowly, calmly, I dried my hands and picked up the envelope from the hospital. The white paper which contained my pregnancy result was
BETSY'S POVI didn’t plan to go to Alira’s house that day.It just… happened or maybe that was a lie I told myself so I wouldn’t have to admit the truth that I was restless or uneasy.Ever since the kidnapping, ever since that humiliation, something had been crawling under my skin.Alira was too calm and too composed and knowing that bitch, I knew she could be up to anything. She was too untouched by everything that should have broken her. That alone made me suspicious. So I drove to her house without calling, without announcing myself like I had always done.I still had a key.The house was quiet when I walked in…too quiet.I shut the door softly behind me and glanced around, half-expecting to see her sitting calmly with that unreadable look on her face. But she wasn’t there.I heard water running. The bathroom.I rolled my eyes…typical Alira..always acting like she had time for peace.I walked further in, my heels clicking lightly on the floor, my gaze drifting around the living roo
