ALIRA'S POV

The words on the screen burned into my mind.

"Roses are red, fate has its thread, She came back from where they thought she was dead. With every glance, she plays her part, But holds their doom inside her heart."

My fingers trembled slightly, but I quickly tightened them into a fist, steadying myself.

I read the message again and again.

Someone knew I had come back.

I scanned the room and found nothing was out of place and no sound or slight noise around.

The air around me felt thicker now, almost charged.

It had only been a few days since my rebirth, but I had taken every precaution to hide it.

But this message… This message shattered the illusion of safety.

I locked the phone and dropped it on the table, forcing myself to breathe normally.

Who could’ve sent it?

Liam? No. If he knew, he wouldn’t be as angry and confused as he was earlier….Alec? He didn’t have the brains to wrap a threat in a poem…Betsy? Please, she couldn’t write a grocery list without asking for help
