ALIRA'S POV

I sat cross-legged on my bed as my diary spread open in front of me like a portal to another life and like one I barely remembered.

The pages smelled faintly of lavender and dust, and each word I read felt like pulling a thread from a sweater I had once worn but forgot.

I had already combed through over half of the entries, most of them chaotic and emotional, some full of love and others brimming with fear.

But I wasn't giving up..at least not now, not when everything was starting to make sense in the most horrifying way possible.

My fingers trembled as I flipped another page.

A paragraph was scrawled in hurried writing.

"I think Alec knows about Liam and me…He hasn't said anything yet, but the way he looked at me yesterday... it was different….Like I had betrayed him and like he wanted to hurt me…I can't stay here anymore…. I need to leave before it's too late."

I felt the air suddenly leave my lungs.

"Oh my God..."

My heart pounded as I kept reading.

BETSY'S POVAfter the whole Liam announcing our wedding plans and Alira doing the same too, I started feeling extremely uneasy.I stared at my phone for a long minute, fingers clenched so tightly around it that my knuckles turned white.Something wasn't right. Something about the way Liam had looked at Alira during that meeting like she still owned a part of him.No…. I wasn’t imagining it and I’d be damned if I let my perfect plans crumble because of some lingering ghost of a romance.I hit Alec’s contact and pressed the phone to my ear. He picked up after two rings."Betsy? What is it?""We need to talk," I said sharply. "I think something is going on between Liam and Alira." I said. There was a pause and then Alec chuckled. "You're being paranoid.""Am I? I definitely saw the way Liam looked at her during the meeting…. He's not over her….I can feel it.""Well, let me ease your mind then," Alec said, his voice laced with arrogance. "Alira and I slept together…we had sex!!! And

ALIRA'S POV"Alira, can we talk?"His voice was soft, almost hesitant, but there was a fire in his eyes I couldn’t ignore. He was staring at the necklace on my neck like it had personally betrayed him.I swallowed hard, tugging at the delicate crescent moon pendant subconsciously."Talk about what exactly?" I asked, stepping back.He didn’t answer immediately. His jaw clenched as his eyes flicked up to meet mine."That necklace," he finally said. "Where did you get it?""Why? Does it matter?"He moved closer, closing the space between us."It matters to me."I gave him a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. "Why, Liam? Is it because it reminds you of something? Or someone?"He didn’t flinch, but I saw it…the look of guilt…. Or was it regret?"You remember." he said quietly. That statement only meant that he was waiting for me to remember him or remember something so eagerly."Not everything…Just flashes, bits and pieces that don’t make full sense yet."His voice was lower now."But th

ALIRA’S POV“Both of you, get the fuck inside now!!" Trevor yelled as Iris and I flinched in fear.We both went inside slowly as Trevor shut the door behind us.The world slowed down.Trevor's voice echoed through the room like a threat dressed in desperation. The gun in his hand wasn’t just a weapon, it was a symbol that everything was spiraling beyond what any of us could control.Iris stood frozen in front of me, and I could tell she was trying not to breathe too loud and me? I couldn’t even think straight.“Fucking hell!” Trevor bit out as Iris and I both flinched in shock.I had my phone with me to text for help but I needed a distraction or a diversion from Trevor to do it."Trevor." Iris began, her voice barely above a whisper. "You don’t have to do this.""Don’t I?" he snapped, waving the gun slightly. "You think you can just forget me? Replace me like I was nothing?""You cheated on me….you stalked me and what did you expect?!" Iris hissed, but her voice cracked toward the

ALIRA'S POV I didn’t remember leaving Liam’s house….Not really….It was a blur…his words, the smug look on Betsy’s face, the way my own mother nodded proudly when Liam asked her permission to marry my sister.I felt numb but not broken because broken girls cry.And I wasn’t broken anymore.I was dangerous.I was driving but my full concentration was on the road as I started calculating my next moves. After driving for a while, I realized I wasn't driving home but I was driving to another location far from my house. In about an hour, I found myself standing in front of Alec’s place, fingers twitching at my sides. I barely knocked before the door opened and he stood there, shirtless as usual, looking both surprised and pleased to see me.“Alira?” he said with a confused expression on his face. “What are you doing here? You didn’t call…did something happen?” he added.“I want you to sleep with me,” I said bluntly. The words left my mouth before I could even second guess them. They la

ALIRA’S POV"Then you need to go and find out." “Do I really have to Iris??? Because I really don't want any drama….I just want to stay away from those people and figure things out.”"But you don't know the reason for this meeting and besides it's strange that it was Liam who called for the meeting…it must be serious.”“But….”"No buts Alira…if you go and you don't like the atmosphere there, you can come back immediately okay…I would have gone with you but I wasn't invited.” Iris said as she chuckled.“It's alright Iris…I'll go...but I'll keep you updated and besides, I am scared of nobody.” I said with a smile on my face as she smiled back at me."That's my girl." I stood up and walked to my room as I changed my outfits and walked out of the house. The ride to Liam’s house was quiet.Too quiet.I kept checking my phone, hoping for a new text from him, something that might hint at what this was about but nothing came. His message had been brief and firm. “We need to talk…. I’ve cal
