CHAPTER 12 - The Guilty Alpha
After shifting, I run into the woods. I feel so guilty... I promised her that I would never hurt her and at the first touch of jealousy; I lose control of Xander. I can't believe that he did that. I stop just inside the edge of the woods and watch the place where I left Skyler curled up on the ground. Once I see Elijah run down the alley, stop in front of Skyler, kneel down, carefully picking her up, and then head back to the carpark where he no doubt either has his car or has someone waiting in a car for him. I feel both Nathan and Elijah tug on our private mind-link,
"Cole?? Cole? What's going on?? Cole?? Answer me!!"
But I can't talk to them, I can't face them. Once I know that Skyler is in good hands, I run further into the woods until I reach and stop at one of the streams that border our territory, sit down and turn inward to Xander.
