CHAPTER 23 - Losing Cole Pt 1
COLE'S POV
I return to the packhouse 2 weeks after Skyler gave birth to the pup she was carrying. I climb into her window and have the shower I always have before I see her. I stay in the shadows as she enters the room. I watch as she enters the bathroom. She stays in there for a while and then comes out already wearing her night slip. She finishes drying her hair and sits at her vanity.
She looks tired as she braids her hair. I catch a glimpse of my mark on her shoulder as she throws the finished braid over her shoulder. It looks beautiful with me in Xander's wolf form, standing protectively over Alice's wolf form. I'm just disappointed in myself because of the way Xander marked her. She didn't mark me in return.
I watch as she makes her way over to the bed, slowly climbs in and seems to just collapse onto her pillows. I move out of the shadows, over to the bed, and climb in with her. I smile as she turns over and allows me to wrap my arms around

SKYLER'S POVI woke up the next morning and stretched, to find a heavy arm wrapped around my waist and from the heat and butterflies travelling through me, I knew it was Nathan. He stirred as well, pulling me tighter against him and placing soft kisses down my neck to his mark, making me moan out in pleasure. SKYLER'S POVI was sitting at my bedroom window, thinking over the last few weeks. I am now 3 months pregnant. We found out two weeks ago that we are having a boy. Elijah and Nathan are over the moon. COLE'S POV I stop at a distance and watch as Nathan approaches Skyler, gets down on his knees in front of her and apologises to her for what happened on the training field. When I saw that she managed to put him on his arse, I couldn't have been more prouder because if she can get Nathan to the ground, something that only Elijah and I have been able to do and do with difficulty for the last few years. She would have no problem defending herself against anyone, including me. Elijah has taught her well. I then turn and run, allowing them to have their privacy. I stay away from both the house and the packhouse, knowing that Nathan and Skyler either completed the mating that day or in the days following. KATIE'S POVHappy Birthday to me!!! I got up early this morning and got myself some breakfast. I was hoping to bump into Max. He is always one of the first ones up to help with the pack's breakfast, but he isn't here. I was so hoping to find out if he really was my mate.Anyway, that was a little bit of a downer. XANDER'S POV I knew it would happen soon. I could feel the weight of guilt getting heavier and heavier upon him. XANDER AKA ZANE'S POV "Right go again! You need to give more if you want to survive my training program... MILES!! Come on, I know you have more. Let's see it!" I have been here for just over 3 years now. Out of the dozen recruits I put through my program, I have produced 7 groups of 8 guards.
