ONE YEAR BACK

DAISY'S POV

So, what would you like to eat?”

"Um, yeah, anything you like," I said, squinting my eyes. Noah, my boyfriend, received my response.

"OK, babe, I'll just order and come," he patted my hair.

I got to know Noah Smith through my best friend, Julian. He is an artist; he paints; and it's been a year since we started dating.

I like Noah a lot.

But sometimes he does very extraordinary things. Today he literally booked the whole 77th floor restaurant just because he wanted to compensate for the time we lost when he went on his one month business trip.

From the glass wall, I gazed outside , the majestic skyscraper towering with brightness. It brought a nostalgic memory to my brain. Four years have passed since that incident, the one where I crossed paths with 'him' - the Batman, the name I gave him because I never had the chance to learn his actual name.

I still remember how excited I was after that incident. I literally thought he would come as he promised to do after a year. But he didn't.

I continuously went to that place again and again for 3 years, but he was nowhere to be found.

At first, weirdly, I was very disappointed and sad that he didn't come.

I still remember going and crying hard every time I went to that place and not finding him there.

First, it was a safe place for me whenever I wanted to hide from all my worries, but after him, it wasn't the same again.

I finally gave up after three years of continuous crying. Maybe he was just kidding and maybe he forgot about me long back.

So, l finally moved on, and now I got the best man I could have asked for, actually the second best, but who cares now?

Noah is sweet and hot, standing 6 '2 with a massive body, long hair, beautiful brown eyes, fair skin, and a charming smile. He's the most eligible bachelor in the city and I'm grateful that he's my boyfriend.

Our one-year anniversary is next month. We considered celebrating it, but Julian's wedding is on the same day.

It's been 6 months since Julian met this mysterious guy and she hasn't even sent me his pictures. Julian relocated to Paris two years ago, and her parents set her up on a blind date. She agreed to the marriage after the first date itself. I'm curious about him now.

To get Julian to say yes on the first date, that's a pretty impressive thing to do.

Every time I tell her to send the picture of him, she always tells me to come and see him in person.

I didn't have much time to visit her, and I didn't have much money to go, so I'm going to meet her next month on her big day and see her fiance there. Noah will come with me because his parents are also on the guest list. I can't wait for my little best friend's wedding.

Noah and I finished our meal and went shopping for the wedding; it was a fun date. He dropped me off at home, and we kissed and said goodbye to each other.

My life is going well, but I have the feeling that something is missing. Weird.

A MONTH LATER

Today, Noah and I are flying to Paris for Julian's wedding, which will take place a day after.

I'm wearing a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans with high ankle boots and sunglasses, while Noah is twinning with me and looking absolutely stunning.

While I was checking my phone, Noah Came over with an ice tea, which I usually prefer, and sat beside me.

Noah Called me "babe" as he handed me the ice tea.

"Yes, babe," I said, smiling at him.

"You're happy with me, right?" While holding my hand, he said with a nervous smile.

Looking at him like this breaks my heart; somewhere in my past, when my first love broke my heart, I resolved never to treat anyone the way he did to me; l just want to protect the person in front of me, and I just want to see him happy.

I lightly kissed his left cheek and looked into his eyes and stated “yes, more than I could ever be.”

It was true that after meeting Noah, my life took a really positive turn. I was going out on occasion, dressing up really nice, and laughing a lot more than before, so yes, I'm happy.

I'm not sure if I love him. But I'm happy with him, so maybe this is love.

His smile broadened, and he hugged me tightly, kissing my brow. This makes me happy. This feels safe.

Then, while waiting for the flight, we watched a movie on my phone together, and when the flight announcement came, we went to our seats in first class.

We finished the movie on the plane, took a good nap, and arrived in Paris after a 10-hour flight.

Julian's driver had arrived to pick us up, and we were soon at the front gate of Julian's family mansion, with a blurred Julian and possibly her husband standing in front of the entrance waving at us.

As the car approached the mansion, the blurred Julian and her husband became clearer. I got out of the car and looked at Julian, who came running over to hug me. I squeezed my eyes shut to hug her.

After about a good 2 minutes, she finally let me go and moved to the side, motioning her hand towards a tall, big man standing behind her.

"Finally, meet my finance Daisy , Dylan ." she said, taking the tall man's hand in hers.

I smiled and turned to face him.

He was beautiful…He had beautiful golden skin with a sharp jawline, greenish gray eyes, and the most endearing boxy

smile with a small beautiful scar on the brow.

Wait, it is him!

DYLAN'S POV I gazed at Daisy, stunned by what I had just heard. The words lingered in the air, a mix of confusion and curiosity filling my mind. As I tried to comprehend the meaning behind “it’s her first time,” the memory of Julian’s words echoed in my thoughts, vivid and clear. FLASHBACK “i just dropped those love birds on their honeymoon, sweet, ha maybe they might become the next couple to get married after us.” julian looked at me and smiled. From the moment met Julian, She hasn’t stopped chattering about Daisy and her seemingly perfect new boyfriend. Her voice, full of excitement, filled the air, as she described his every detail. Indeed, Daisy is undeniably beautiful, just as she had claimed, but I can’t help but feel that Noah isn’t the right match for her. That guy, with his youthful appearance, looks like a mere child. Yet, who am I to pass judgment? “Perhaps you shouldn’t be overly eager about them sleeping together before marriage,” I said, my expression rema

  • TIED BY DESTINY   CHAPTER 26: I LOVE YOU DYLAN

“DYLAN, PLEASE STOP, DON’T MAKE ME HATE YOU!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, the sound echoing through the room. The energy surged through my body, desperation fueling my voice. In that moment, Dylan froze in mid-air, his hands slowly releasing their grip on mine. It was as if he was slowly regaining his senses. As he took each step back, his eyes were bloodshot, his face hardened and emotionless. Despite being five feet away, his cold aura still enveloped me, sending shivers down my spine. His anger was palpable, and I braced myself for another possible attack. But to my surprise, he walked over and sat down on the coffee table, his head buried in his palms. I couldn’t see his face, as he covered it with his hands, but his frustration was evident as he muttered, “What the hell am I doing?” “Daisy, am I really that terrible? Can’t you just love me instead of him? God, what am I even doing, forcing someone who doesn’t even want me,” he said, his hands trembling as he slo

  • TIED BY DESTINY   CHAPTER 25: NOAH

“Oh my God, Daisy, it’s you,” he exclaimed, his voice trembling. " you look great..wow" he said, the sound of his stammering filled the air as he struggled to find his words. The sight of him standing before me brought a mix of emotions. Tears welled up in my eyes as I managed to smile, the joy of seeing him mingling with a bittersweet nostalgia. “You too, Noah,” I replied, my voice heavy with emotion. The room seemed to fill with the scent of memories as I thought back to a time when I was free, when I could be myself without any constraints. I was Daisy White, untethered, but now I was bound in the cage of Dylan, someone else’s wife. Despite my love for Dylan, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss, of losing myself in the process of loving him. But I knew, as his wife, I had to continue on. “How are you?” I managed to ask, my voice quivering. I felt a heavy weight on my chest, as if I could break down and cry at any moment. Guilt washed over me, even though Noah was the on

  • TIED BY DESTINY   CHAPTER 24: YOU WANT TO PROTECT ME?

As we arrived at the luscious venue, it became clear that it was held in the most prestigious and wealthiest hotel in the country. Stepping into the venue, my breath caught in my throat as I took in the stunning sight of the space adorned with an abundance of vibrant flowers. The soft glow of the carefully placed lighting added an ethereal touch to the atmosphere. There was a separate section dedicated to food and wine, tantalizing aromas wafting through the air. Every person in attendance seemed to have stepped straight out of the front page of Forbes magazine or P*******t, exuding elegance and wealth. I couldn’t help but feel out of place amidst this glamorous crowd. However, as Dylan began to walk, every eye in the room fixated on him as if he were the main character in this grand setting. Surprisingly, none of this seemed to faze him; he moved with an air of indifference, unaffected by the extravagant surroundings. “Mr Aster, what a pleasant surprise .. I didn’t know you woul

  • TIED BY DESTINY   CHAPTER 23: DYLAN IS TAKING ME OUT!

I almost lost count of how many times Dylan had brought a stranger girl home. It had become a habit, a painful one, to witness Dylan sleeping with other women. But now, there were no more tears left to cry. As I woke up, the gentle morning light filled the room, casting a warm glow. The soft sound of birds chirping outside welcomed the new day. I knew it was Sunday, which meant Dylan would be home all day, subjecting me to both torture and serenity. Rising from the bed, I made my way to the shower, the warm water cascading over my skin, easing away the remnants of sleep. After drying off, I dressed in a simple grey shorts and tank top, ready to face the day. As I entered the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped the room. Exactly at 8 o’clock, Dylan emerged from his bedroom wearing a bathrobe and took a seat at the dining table. His voice carried a hint of irritation as he spoke. “Do I have to remind you every time to serve? Can’t you just keep it on the table,

  • TIED BY DESTINY   CHAPTER 22: DAISY SMITH, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?

DYLAN'S POV Damn it, didn’t she claim to be a nutritionist? How the hell did she end up in a state of malnourishment? It’s infuriating how she can switch between innocence and pity. Just like now, she’s gazing out the window with wide, doughy eyes and a slightly tilted smile on her face. The sight of her smiling for the first time in ages almost makes me forget how cruel and wicked this woman truly is. “How on earth did you end up in malnourishment, Daisy? Aren’t you a nutritionist?! Didn’t they teach you how to take care of yourself, along with your patients? Don’t you even eat the damn food you prepare for me every day?” I couldn’t help but blurt out in frustration. The words escaped my lips, hanging in the air with a mix of anger and concern. Daisy’s expression remained unchanged, her face devoid of any emotion as she replied, “You know, you’re not here every day... and when you do come, you’re always busy with, well, you know...” The silence between us was heavy, filled wi
