VELARA'S POV

“Elysia?” Dante’s voice comes from behind me, calm yet sharp. Her eyes are locked on him, wide with disbelief. I glance over my shoulder just as he continues, “You’re Selene’s mother, right?” Elysia gives a shaky nod, her skin pale and glistening with sweat. She looks like she might collapse any second. Is she going into shock?

Dante doesn’t hesitate. He yanks Noah up by his shirt, dragging him to his feet. Clarisse screams and claws at Dante’s clothes, trying to stop him.

“So, you’re the father?” Dante’s voice cuts through the heavy tension, low and sharp like a blade. He glares at Noah, who stands rigid, his entire body trembling with dread. Noah manages a small, fearful nod, but the gesture barely finishes before Dante lunges forward.

With terrifying precision, Dante crashes his forehead into Noah’s face. The sickening crack of bone meeting bone reverberates through the air, and I wince at the unmistakable sound of a nose snapping under pressure. Blood spurts instantly

VELARA'S POVA sharp ache pulses through my skull as Kylie studies me, her face drawn with concern. Her fingers reach out and press against the tender swelling on my forehead, only intensifying the pain with her curious touch.“There’s only a little blood,” she observes, eyes narrowing slightly. “But I bet that stings, huh?” she adds, giving it another gentle poke.A small laugh escapes me, but it sends a sharper wave of pain shooting through my head, forcing me to cradle it with both hands.“Yeah, no kidding. Maybe stop poking it and it’ll hurt less,” I mutter through a grimace.“Oh, crap! My bad,” Kylie chuckles, immediately drawing her hand back. “Hey, maybe you should shift. It might help the healing go faster?” she suggests with a hopeful tone.I slowly move my head from side to side, careful not to aggravate the persistent throb pulsing at my temples. The idea of shifting feels like a distant mountain I have no strength to climb. These days, the transformation takes too much out

  • TO DENY A LUNA   CHAPTER 133: CUSTODY CLASH

VELARA'S POVAs soon as I slam on the brakes in the staff parking lot, a chaotic sight grips me with fury. My heart jumps into my throat as I see Noah forcefully trying to pull Selene away from Elysia. Selene, sobbing uncontrollably, clings to her mother’s clothes while several staff members struggle to restrain Noah. Without hesitation, I swing the car door open and let it bang shut behind me as I sprint toward them.“Noah, what the hell do you think you're doing?” I bark, my voice sharp and furious.Elysia lifts her head just as I reach her, and I immediately position myself between her and Noah, shielding her with my body. I notice the distress on her face and quickly murmur, “Take Selene inside, now.”Before Elysia can move, a woman stomps toward us, her heels clicking on the pavement. Her blonde hair is styled in soft waves, and her perfectly made-up face gives her the appearance of a woman straight from a magazine. At first glance, she looks like the ideal suburban wife. But the

VELARA'S POVI press my elbows into his back, making him arch as he walks us both down the hallway to his bedroom. He nudges the door open with his foot, and a low growl rumbles from my throat.“Should I go find something to tie you down with, or are you going to behave?” he mutters.“Try it and you’ll end up sleeping with a towel wrapped around your neck,” I bite out.His brow lifts. “Why would I need that?”“To keep me from slicing it while you sleep,” I snap sharply. He doesn’t flinch. “Well then, that settles it. I’m definitely tying you to the bed.”I stop in my tracks and let out another growl. “Fine. But I get to be the big spoon.”He chuckles. “Trying to mess with my masculinity, are you?”“Take it or leave it,” I answer, just as he drops me onto the bed.A surprised squeak escapes me from the sudden motion, and I let out another annoyed growl. He only laughs in amusement as he climbs onto the mattress, pulling back the covers and sliding underneath them.“I was content just s

  • TO DENY A LUNA   CHAPTER 131: STARES

VELARA'S POV“Can you stop staring?” I blurt out, my voice sharper than I intended. Damon’s lingering gaze is making my skin crawl. I’m painfully aware of how I look. My stomach has softened, faint stretch marks trail along my hips, and my breasts no longer sit the way they once did. After carrying Kael, my body hasn’t bounced back. He, on the other hand, stands effortlessly radiant, like some sculpted model straight out of a fitness magazine, tanned skin stretched over hard muscle. I, in contrast, feel pale and disheveled beside him.“Does it really bother you that much?” he asks, unfazed.“Obviously. I wouldn’t have said anything if it didn’t,” I mutter and immediately turn away, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks.“You’ve had a child. That doesn’t make you any less beautiful, Velara. Don’t hide from me,” Damon said, his voice low and calm, as he ducked beneath the warm cascade of the shower, letting the water rinse the last traces of s

  • TO DENY A LUNA   CHAPTER 130: ASS-BLASTER

VELARA'S POVThe scream tore from my throat before I could stop it."I can't see any damn blue dial! Your stupid dial is busted!" I shouted, my voice cracking with panic. A sudden blast of freezing water slammed into me from above, not the wall, not the usual nozzle, the ceiling. The ceiling!Instinct kicked in. I raised my arms, twisting away in a frantic attempt to shield my body. At that point, I wasn’t even concerned about my ears anymore, let me go deaf if I must, but my poor ass couldn’t take another hit. The spray pelted me like punishment, relentless and aggressive, and I swore I’d wandered into the bowels of an industrial car wash rather than a shower. It was full-blast chaos, like a pressure washer set to destroy. Then, blessedly, the water cut off.Silence crashed in, save for the muffled, unmistakable sound of someone stifling laughter.I stood frozen, heart thundering in my chest. Water dripped from my lashes and hai
