Chapter 17

Looking at his time, the doctor told him that she would be awake in two hours time. it had only been 30 minutes. He suddenly heard a phone's vibration and looked in the direction of the bag, Ashley remembered throwing her phone in her bag so it must be the phone ringing. He rushed over, rampaged over the things in her small bag, found her phone and answered it directly "fortune why have you taken so long to answer and where are you? Chris is here with me and we plan to have dinner outside so hurry up".  "excuse me, I'm sorry this is Ashley speaking", wait, wasn't this not Fortune's number, Asia looked at her phone again, yes it's Fortune's number "Ashley from where? what are you doing with my friends phone?" Asia had a bad premonition "I accidentally hit her so I brought her to the hospital but it's nothing to worry about". "how dare you hit my friend and say it's nothing to worry about, which hospital and what's the  ward number I'm coming there right away". Chris who was listening at the side looked at his worried girlfriend and patted her on the back to comfort her. Ashley gave all the details to Asia, as soon as she got the information, she hung up impatiently and turned to Chris "hurry we have to rush up to the hospital immediately, fortune got hit by a car please hurry and drive me there". Chris already guessed the situation and drove Asia to the hospital, she got out and ran straight to the ward number she was given. She rushed into the ward and saw her friend sleeping peacefully on the small bed and looked fiercely at Ashley "you, tell me how do you drive so carelessly huh? you even dared to tell me that it was nothing to worry about just look at my friend's state now"

Ashley sighed deeply, "I'm guilty of this so I will say I'm really sorry, the doctor said she had no internal injuries but suffered some physical injuries and a few bruises but will be fine in a week or two as long as she takes rest" Ashley said. At this moment, Chris who had been standing behind Asia asked, "when will she be discharged?". "she will be discharged after 24hours. she's under observation and more tests have to be done to make sure she's really fine and I assume she would be awake in two hours time ". Ashley explained patiently and was very calm. Asia sighed and felt a little relieved, she remembered Brandon, she hadn't seen or heard fortune mention him for days. " did Fortune receive any other call apart from mine?" Asia thought of asking and felt it was rather odd that Brandon was quiet. "no, you are the only person who called, you can have a look". Ashley handed over Fortune's phone to  Asia who in turn looked at Fortune's contact and found that she hadn't spoken to Brandon for some days now. She was in a dilemma and didn't know if she must inform Brandon or not. Seeing that they hadn't spoken for days, she decided not to inform him either. One hour later, fortune slowly opened her eyes, she studied the surrounding and was a little confused. Asia ran up to her side and asked "fortune are you ok? do you feel any pain?" fortune remembered the accident earlier and asked "am I in the hospital?". "yes, you are in the hospital, Asia pointed at Ashley and said, he is the man who hit you with his car". Fortune looked at the man standing not far "sir I'm sorry for putting you through all this trouble, I was a little absent minded when I tried to cross the road and didn't check for any incoming cars before crossing".
