Chapter 18

Despite the criticism he got from Asia earlier, Ashley didn't get agitated. He smiled and said "well accidents do happen and I should have been more careful myself so it's not entirely your fault". Fortune smiled and nodded "do you feel any pain" Asia asked "I do but it's not something I can't handle" upon hearing her friends words, she looked at Ashley and said "please get the attending doctor to come over She needs to be checked". Ashley went out and called for the doctor. fortune was asked were she felt pain as well as a few more questions, the doctor confirmed that it was not serious. He told her she needed bed rest for a week or two for quicker recovery. At this moment, Brandon was busy rolling over the sheets with Camilla and was enjoying this wild type of intimacy they were having, after a couple of rounds, they stopped. "hey will you tell that stupid girl that you are done or you want me to do it for you?" Camilla asked. Brandon thought of the innocent girl that he had been ignoring, anyways he was better off being with a girl who satisfied him, what was the point of keeping her when she couldn't satisfy him, how stupid. The girl thinks she will find a guy who would accept such baloney as a condition, what crap. doesn't she think we are living in the 1970s where people would wait till marriage to get intimate? she's such a fool, these days, intimacy is a normal thing between people who are dating so what stupid things are running through her mind. Anyways he doesn't need to think much about all these things.

After spending a night in the hospital, fortune couldn't stand it any more and wanted to be discharged. Chris spent the night in the hospital with Asia while Ashley left and came the next morning. Coincidentally, Ashley came at the right time and offered to take fortune home. Chris on the other hand was in a hurry and had to attend to some work, ever since he graduated and returned to Africa, his always been up and down after taking over his father's company. Ashley took the two girls home being directed by them cause he didn't know where their apartment was.  After they got to the apartment, Ashley attentively helped fortune inside, she smiled and thanked him, he sure did look like an altruistic type of a person. Seeing them settle down, he asked  "do you need anything else or is there something you would like to get outside? I can get it for you".  "oh yes there's alot we needed but because you mercilessly run over my friend, she couldn't get the gro", "oh no it's nothing, we will manage to get those groceries later" fortune interrupted her friend. She knew her friend was being sarcastic cause she was angry at this man for running her over. Ashley felt embarrassed, even when it was clearly an accident, this girl continued to blame him. He even started to feel embarrassed over an accident he never intended for. "are you sure it's ok?". "of course not, how can it be fine?" Asia please just let it go. fortune said in a helpless tone, she didn't know what to do with this girl. "oh no fortune, he has to go and buy the groceries required, I will write the list then you will go and get them, you think you can easily satiate my friend by acting kind? it's not enough, you have to get the groceries".
